    For cooking on foil, use matt side up, it has more of a non stick feature. However if you want an extra blast of heat retention to help food cook faster, for example when using foil as a lid over your baking tray, ensure the silvery shiny side is facing down over your the food (matt side up). It conducts heat better, I heard a famous chef mention once 😊

      Absolutely nothing. I prefer to spend less time in the kitchen in the holy month of Ramadan♥️

  • @sa_star3661
    @sa_star3661 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It's sad how we spend days 'prepping' for Ramadan. Prepping would be researching duas organising taraweeh here we are making luxurious food to stuff our faces and actually put weight on during our holy month. I wonder what opinion our ancesters would have of us. The people that opened their fast with dates, water and milk but were still grateful.

    • @ZeinahNur
      @ZeinahNur  ปีที่แล้ว

      Please let’s not assume the worst of people, the best of us are those who assume the best. We meal prep out of the intention to spend less time in the kitchen and more time on what Ramadan is actually about. I pray you heal from everything that’s troubling your mind and Allah blesses you with empathy♥️

    • @sa_star3661
      @sa_star3661 ปีที่แล้ว

      @ZeinahNur firstly this has nothing to do with empathy or seeing the worst in people. It's about right and wrong. We are Muslim so we follow the prophet pbuh's sunna. In our religion if you see something that is wrong you tell people it is wrong it's up to them to listen to it. If you don't do this and they do something wrong which you could have prevented then on the day of judgement you are also punished for what they did or didn't do. Personally i dont want to be punished for other people's sins just my own, which there are already plenty of. I get it people 'prep' so they can cook less during Ramadan. But let's be honest here the 'prep' it's just starter food you still will cook during Ramadan. Instead of it taking an hour a day it will take us 3 hours if we didnt prep. Eating food is not wrong the over indulgence that we engage in is wrong especially during Ramadan.
      This is a month of even more moderation than normal there are even some sunnahs stating that we should eat a little less than we normally do during Ramadan. Yet someday we will eat two peoples worth of food in an hour when we break our fast. The Prophet pbuh and his family and sahaba ikraam ate very moderately during this month. What's wrong with eating the normal foods that we eat during the whole year? A simple daal chawal with some salad takes an hour to cook. Most foods do, your still getting fed.
      Also you need to remember that it was the prophet pbuh's sunna to not only eat healthy but to not over indulge. When we are eating we should stop when we feel our hunger is satiated but also we get the feeling that we could still eat more if we wanted to. Meaning your stomach should never be fully full. I'm a nurse so medically speaking you should never over eat there should be plenty of room in your stomach so that the food can be easily digested. When you cook all this food and it's on the table you can't help but to over eat. Also remember that some scholars who have looked at the life of our prophet pbuh have stated that over indulgence during iftar could make your fast invalid. Look when I was in my early 20s I was guilty of this, but then I started researching. Look it up, you yourself will realise how wrong it is.
      My duty is to teach what I have learnt yours is to make your own decision after doing your own research.

    • @cinnabeld8284
      @cinnabeld8284 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sa_star3661 You need to remember that those times everything was organic. We do not get enough nutrients with the same amount of food that they may have had back then.
      And also everyones metabolism and body is different, I definitely lose weight while fasting and struggle tremendously to maintain energy throughout the day, so some of us must eat more!

    • @sa_star3661
      @sa_star3661 ปีที่แล้ว

      @cinnabeld8284 Actually, you are wrong there. A simple Google search will show you that countless studies show there is no significant difference in the amount and quality of nutrients in genetically modified and organic foods. Also, even if you have to eat more, it doesn't mean you have to spend weeks prepping foods that are actually not going to give you much good nutritional value. Fried food is not good foods, especially after a fast. Also, some such foods actually can make you feel more hungry in the long run. Not only that, the foods that we are prepping meaning these over indulgent food, especially those that are fried and have heaps of fat in them, actually lose their nutritional value. So, your argument is flawed.
      I think what you're talking about is issues with differing metabolism. Yes, some people do need more calories, but like I already stated, the sunna is to eat, but stop eating when your hunger is satiated, but you still have room for more ( this is different amount for every one) Medically speaking, when we eat fast metabolism or not, you should always have space in your stomach so that ALL the food you have eaten can be fully digested. Otherwise, most of the nutrients you have eaten will be pooped back out and wasted. Therefore, you're not actually getting sufficient nutrients, meaning then your body will get hungry faster because you just lost half of what you have eaten. It's basic biology hunny. Our deen has a strong connection to science. it's what makes our religion so beautiful. But we can get all the nutrients we need from the simple foods we eat every day. You don't need a fried samosa, kebab or pakora to do it. Nor do you need to eat so much that you have just ended up defecating half the nutrients out into the toilet.

    • @miskellaneousK
      @miskellaneousK ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your comment is based off assumptions you've made about her life, which isn't right. I'm a uni student and like to prep. Between classes and self study I don't have the energy to properly cook for myself when Iftaar is approaching, preparing simplifies my life. I get a proper healthy meal and don't jeopardise my study or prayer time.
      According to you you're seeing "something wrong" but you're only seeing what she's allowing you to see. You do not know how her family eats year round or what ger family eats during ramadham. She clearly says in the video this is her family's regular dinners that's she's prepping. Listen before you pass judgement on people. Also for those it concerns over indulgence is never right anytime but what is wrong with eating food that makes you happy during Ramadhan in moderation ?
