I've got a gold top, it's a Gibson '57 VOS that I got back in 2012. Lovely guitar, best Les Paul I've ever played let alone own. 7.9 pounds non weight relieved with a single piece body and 2 piece maple cap. I tune it when I resting it and that's about it most of the time. Sounds fantastic no matter what you are playing, it is just a total chameleon. The intonation across the neck is beyond belief. I've checked it with a strobe tuner and every note on every fret comes up as in tune, I've never seen the like. Fit and finish are impeccable. I'm lucky to own it and I imagine it will still be on the go long after I am dead and buried. It just sounds great and plays like a dream, what more could you want? I enjoyed the video, it was interesting and I hope some folks find a nice new gold top as a result of your ever helpful videos. Have a good one and thanks for sharing :)

Past November i bought a 335 style guitar from AIO guitars with the thought of upgrading it,which surprisingly has been still intact. Its a great value for price guitar with the setup being the highlight.

I am a beginner and it really helps me gain some more confidence in my playing. Please consider making a teaching program for beginners only and maybe for the 80s era. I know you have a program for 1988 but it is for more experienced players. Happy new year!
Max, I have an Epiphone 56 Goldtop Limited Edition with P90 pickups in it that was built to Gibson vintage spec. I had the money to purchase a Gibson 56 and had found an unmolested survivor that was in museum quality shape. That said, I did not want a guitar that was an heirloom only; I wanted to play the guitar regularly and use it for live performances. You do not spend upwards of a years salary on a guitar and play it in a local pub where drunken idiots fight and it can get damaged. I opted for the Epiphone now to be fair the sound is not exact due to the difference in age of material and Epiphone pickups versus vintage Gibson P90, but it was close enough that to an untrained ear nobody was going to be able to distinguish it in a mix. I like LP style guitars especially P90 single coil equipped it has a unique character that is unlike any other. I find P90 to be super versatile across the genres of music and they can cut through even the heaviest metal mixes or mellow out for Sunday worship. The antique gold finish says hello without being overly flashy it suggests I am classy and bold all in the same package. I need to do a refresh on mine and am looking for a set of Gibson cream colored vintage P90 to put in it and plan on upgrading it to better pots and switch as mine have become scratchy through the years but it still gets played on the regular, has always gotten compliments for how good looking and sounding it is, and if it had gotten damaged during a gig would not have landed me in prison for a homicide. The name on the headstock dictates a resale value but if you want a player tribute guitars are the ultimate winner in my opinion because you can enjoy it without fearing the worst.
I really love the look with the gold pickup covers and bridge. I might eventually customise an epiphone les paul custom and refinish the top in gold, to get a similar look
I have one on the way. The headstock doesn't bother me at all. A lot of people think PRS headstocks are weird too. I already have a Wolf T-style thinline and was pleasantly surprised when I got it. I'm hoping this one is as good.
I got the guitar today and unboxed it after a couple of hours. First impressions are good. Neck straight, frets good, finish good. Set up is good. The neck feels a little chunkier than what I was expecting from their specs, thank goodness (I like chunky). Weight is comfortable, I'd guess 8 lbs. I'll plug it in later to see how it sounds.
The gold top LP has always been my dream guitar. I am a lefty, they are hard to find. Wolf says they will be producing some lefties, I will be first in line.

I like the way that gold top looks.they've done a very good job at recreating the look of a old Gibson as far as having a real nice deep dish carve on the top. you can see it has that belly that I really like a lot.with the old Les Paul's sometimes you wouldn't get as much of a belly but sometimes you would I've always liked the ones with more of a belly on the top.I've been watching you for a couple years man and you're playing is getting better and better you're definitely wood-shedding, kudos on sharpening your chops man because they're staying up where they should be and they're only getting better
I usually don't go for les Paul style guitars but I like this one. Really thinking of getting the prs style guitar in blue. I think its gonna be a great year.
Go for the charvel desolations. I think its the ds-1 that's the singlecut model...but its dope. Its a singlecut, but charvel kept it real and gave it strat like specs.

That AIO is of a similar shade and sound to my Gibson model. You also make it really song, Max. Though I also opted to ring in the New Year with anorher guitar, Imyself wound up choosing a "Squier-in-Fender-clothing", a Fender Modern Player Thinline Telecaster Deluxe. My pallet hasn't yet adjusted to economy copies like this one, wicked though they are.
I bought a Gretsch electromatic pro jet gold top G5438 in 2014. Made in China. I added a Gretsch licensed Bigsby like the one George Harrison put on his black Gretsch. Gretsch has some goldtop models available from the $300s to about $600. They are shaped very similar to a Les Paul but they have their own shape And electronics layout... some people like the filtertrons and other people prefer Gibson style humbuckers.
I got a nice made in China Gretsch electromatic gold top some years ago ... it was a hard tail but I found a Bigsby licensed drum system like the one George Harrison put on his Gretsch. It’s a gorgeous guitar.
I bought this gold top about 6 months ago and love it. I've owned several Gibson Les Paul's over the past 55 years and this one is a great bang for your buck. Check them out!

It plays better than I do, so that's pure gold to me, too. I'm new to this vlog and I'd like to say I was Team Jacob on the "Twilight" series; I understand why you chose the "Wolf" AIO guitar. Bella picked wrong!
Nice looking guitar. The Epiphone gold tops are a bit green but this one looks close to the Gibson gold color. This guitar has a nice ebony board with large jumbo frets.
I have an Oscar Schmidt gold top LP and to be honest, it’s a really really nice guitar and I got it for about 1/2 the price of this one. Nothing wrong with this one at all.

We need to get back down below 5% per state infection rate at least (South Dakota is at almost 60%!)...that means every 6 out of 10 people tested, are testing positive! I have 2 Wolf 750's. I believe they are, or were made by World Instruments Company in Korea which manufactures Guitars for ESP LTD and some other well known brands before everyone started sourcing work to Indo. Everyone is skeptical of the Headstock cut out design, but what i noticed is that it's width is thin similar to the old Gibson Melody Makers. At least it's an original design and probably was to avoid Gibson Lawsuits. They (Gibson), are out for vengeance. Not bad Guitars at all. Purchased some high end pickups for both and will install them eventually. I am a serial procrastinator .
As does the Monoprice Indio one. I have it and love it! Once it settled in, it became my Go-To Goldtop out of the 3 I have (with my Epiphone Muse being 2nd).
I have a Firefly LP.... while it looks great from 3 feet away, the hardware (bridge/tailpiece, tuners, knobs) is poor. It needs a complete fret leveling job as well to be considered anything close to a quality instrument.

The Harley Benton 550 afd has an actual maple cap under the veneer for around 300 bucks these guys can to. A 10 dollar increase in cost to give you a tone closer to the gibby is going to give them a highly more marketable product

Demmo. one of these ,He got a B stock With some over spray,I have one but cant a flaw anywhere,I Love playing it ,The neck is more slim C Not Chunky like 50s gibsons Its just so easy to play and its always in tune ,I keep in that nice gator case it came in .

I received this exact same guitar last week. However there are a few paint voids underneath the lacquer. I emailed them with pictures, they said there’s nothing they can do because it’s underneath the finish. They should let buyers know if there are flaws on the guitars they sell. Very disappointed . So buyer beware.

Couse of you I just got a PRS Wolf guitar and I cannot be more happy, I think the guitar is worth twice what I paid for.

I noticed the head stock doesnt tilt back at That radical angle of the Gibson. Less risk of damage if you drop it.

As does the Monoprice Indio one. I have it and love it! Once it settled in, it became my Go-To Goldtop out of the 3 I have (with my Epiphone Muse being 2nd).

I have a Firefly LP.... while it looks great from 3 feet away, the hardware (bridge/tailpiece, tuners, knobs) is poor. It needs a complete fret leveling job as well to be considered anything close to a quality instrument.

The Harley Benton 550 afd has an actual maple cap under the veneer for around 300 bucks these guys can to. A 10 dollar increase in cost to give you a tone closer to the gibby is going to give them a highly more marketable product

The know your gear guy ,cant remember his name ,Phil mcnite ? Demmo. one of these ,He got a B stock With some over spray,I have one but cant a flaw anywhere,I Love playing it ,The neck is more slim C Not Chunky like 50s gibsons Its just so easy to play and its always in tune ,I keep in that nice gator case it came in .

I am hopeful in this new year that my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will see me through every difficulty. Why? Because he always has throughout the last 54 years of my life.
I received this exact same guitar last week. However there are a few paint voids underneath the lacquer. I emailed them with pictures, they said there’s nothing they can do because it’s underneath the finish. They should let buyers know if there are flaws on the guitars they sell. Very disappointed . So buyer beware.
