I had a radical rebirth experience last year and got in with a false teaching church and friends. It confused me greatly. I knew what they were teaching was wrong but also, I misunderstood what the meaning and what God was telling me when I tried to research on my own. I had run from God for years before He saved me. But, I messed up big time and looking back, I see where I missed some of the warnings and teaching He was trying to guide me into. My sincerity was there; I was truly trying to understand; I just came to the wrong conclusion. Do you think it’s possible that He forgives us for going astray and sinning if we truly didn’t understand and misunderstood the warnings He sent to mean something else? If my question is confusing, I can provide details. I’m just afraid because I didn’t understand what He was telling me until seemingly too late. I felt Him rip the Holy Spirit out of my chest along with a burning sensation and a huge clap of thunder shook my house. I was filled with utter dread and the peace, love, and joy I had in Him left in an instant. Haven’t been able to recover even though all I do is pray, read the Bible, and cry out to Him. I’ve examined myself constantly and identify now where I went wrong and how I misunderstood the warnings He sent to mean something else. I want to learn from my mistakes, and I have…I’m just apparently a slow learner. I need Him, He is everything! But so far, He is silent and my dread continues.
Regarding your point about "THE doctrine..." @7:35, I have heard people say "People have argued about the Bible for 2000 years." So, they use that fact as an excuse for not following what the Bible says. It is very sad. Problem is that many people who think this way will also look at the US Election in absolute right/wrong terms. I'd like to use that point against their mindset and say something like "But a lot of people are arguing about it. So what makes your side in the election correct?"
Yes! That is INCREDIBLY frustrating and nonsensical. People have been arguing about whether Jesus was the Messiah for thousands of years. So they by their argument do we just forget about it and not contend for the faith once delivered to the saints? These people are too soft.
@@abideintheWord I think it comes from an attitude of "You can't know what's right, so we shouldn't be arrogant about it." It's a kind of false humility. As a new creation in Christ, after I repented, stopped sinning, and denied myself daily, I think God has highlighted a hidden sin in my life, which I completely forgot about. Years before giving my life to Christ, I cheated in college, and this has helped me to get to my last year of college right now. However, can I, as a new creation in Christ, have a degree that I did not acquire ethically since I cheated a handful of times before giving my life to Christ? Ever since God pointed that out to me, I've been studying the Bible for 2 days straight; I want to be blameless; should I confess and lose a 3-year investment? I do not want to have a sinfully acquired degree since I feel it will compromise my ability to bear fruit! I'm asking God for forgiveness, but ever since he showed me this sin, I can not get over it.
