As a retired Fireman its always best to have your fuels stored in a shed 50 feet or 18m from your home. You can stop some fires with a water hose but if fuels are burning there is no way unless you have a larger hose.
Fires are not unheard of in the Philippines. Fire departments are often under equipped and fire education is sorely lacking. Source of the fire is often overloaded electrical lines and improper electrical wires in the first place for intended loads: these houses are often not built for western electrical usage much less standards. Take pictures of all your docs. IDs and Passport. It will help. Keep them in your phone and possibly digital storage.
wow, if i called the fire dept. they may show up tomorrow or not at all and if they did show up they couldnt get a fire truck down the brngy road anyway its so small and steep. i will make a plan about documents tho, good reminder to consider this . thankfully my house is all cement and the only thing that could burn is the plywood under the roofing metal.
Yes Bob even tho they weren't friends they still helped, going near that gas bottle in a fire, they go off and take half you house with it, we'll done Brian and tatay, now if the owner would say thanks that would go a lonk way.
I’ve been behind in watching videos, but I’m watching them now!

Good reminder to check YOUR fire plans ,, double check extinguisher if fully charged ,, well hose and pump ready in a hurry etc
Maybe rats chewed through the generator wire, causing a short. Most solar systems can have an automatic switch over to the self starting generator ?
Sync Geoff would say there Brian's rats.

Bad luck to the folks who suffered this fire. Well done Brian and William for stepping up to the plate, i would have done the same.
