People with wealth and power like the status quo because they know that if anything bad happens, they can just buy their way into being the elites of some other country. So, they’re incentivized to take as much money as they can before such a collapse happens cuz none wanna be the sucker who wasted their fortune trying to keep an egalitarian (relatively) nation thriving.
In other words, it’s game theory: if both partners cooperate, they both come out ahead. If not, at least the one with more is better by comparison and didn’t risk being a sucker. I always thought that Israel could have learned a bit from China. They also had a terrorism problem in Xinjiang back in the 2010s. The CCP initially suppressed the uprising with force. But they soon turned to a de-radicalization and re-education program (which no doubt involved human rights transgressions to a large scale), which was infamous in the West as a "cultural genocide". But importantly, they implemented this in tandem with greater economic and cultural integration of the region (Uyghurs were encouraged to learn Mandarin so that they had greater economic prospects in the Mainland). Xinjiang's economic growth and improved security basically removed the incentives and reasons that were used by the terrorists for recruitment. The CCP was smart to win over the local Uyghur population first, painting the terrorists as the common enemy (which they were, as they attacked the Han Chinese and all minority people in their attacks alike). Now, Xinjiang is a tourist hotspot and the Uyghurs maintained most of their rights, traditions, and autonomy. All sides won except for the terrorist/separatist groups funded by the CIA.

The moment Sullivan says "That puts innocent civilians in the crossfire" is a war crime - under international law a State cannot turn civilian infrastructure into military targets because proportionality applies. The disproportionate impact of civilian casualties by targeting it means it cannot be targeted - Israel violated this months ago when they targeted the refugee camp in Northern Gaza.

To say this is not a genocide, goes against what the evidence on the ground shows. 80% of buildings destroyed in Gaza, countless thousands injured and killed. Several Israeli media including Haaratz have cast serious doubt on the events of 7 October and suggest, a large number of casaulties were caused by Israeli friendly fire. The wilful destruction of food aid when the IDF just stands by, while people are starving, how is this not genocide or ethnic cleansing? Shame on the US.

Peaceful Encampment of our Capitals until it's installed, or run Mascot Candidates
Single Issue Referendums with thresholds and a social contract means Communities can vote their own laws.
A Public Authority can audit police and prosecute bad cops in our own courts.
Nationalise resources and give Indigenous peoples the right of Sovereignty over them as Guardians.
This can be achieved through a General Strike or Velvet Revolution, much like the Occupy movement, peacefully occupying State Buildings until a People's Mandate can be implemented.
With the appropriate checks and balances, you could have a national digital forum where qualified professionals can debate the issues in a public setting without all the disinformation and bad faith antics, hatespeech etc.
Any vote would need to pass the 70% threshold, with a veto or _rewrite_ vote needing 30%.
The issues would be debated, the public educated, and then a vote taken. Votes that fail will have to wait a year before trying again. Any new proposal (Citizen Initiated Referendum) would have to reach a threshold of support before it made it onto the register.
This would be subject to a Social Contract (New Constitution) that forbids human rights abuses and discrimination.
That can be written in the same manner based on the core principles we all share. Councils and Boards could operate in the same fashion at Scale.
It works in a way that obligates people to better educate themselves ( that is to use logic and evidence in their reasoning ) for a better understanding of the issues, and then take collective responsibility for the outcomes. As opposed to the divisive US v them scapegoating and bi-partisan finger pointing the current Capitalist Pyramid Scheme runs on.

So I have to ask, did the Nazis have the right to "defend" itself from partisan fighters in whose countries that they occupied? Did the Soviets have the right to "defend" themselves against the Hungarian partisans when they tried to occupy their land for the Soviet Union? And the list goes on.
