- This video shows a large scale spray paint portrait of Marilyn Monroe being painted on a 3m x 4m aluminium canvas with finishing touches added with LEGO Art bricks. The Artwork was then hung at the Brisbane Powerhouse for the launch of LEGO Art. The portrait was painted over two days, then a further five days was needed to assemble and attach the 50,000 + LEGO bricks. The original plan was to make the artwork completely from LEGO but only limited colours and bricks were available due to Covid, so a painted piece complimented with LEGO add ons was the chosen direction. The Marilyn Monroe image was used to create a 2020 version of the Andy Warhol classic print (which is the image used for one of the LEGO Art kits).

As a beginner, I'm very glad to see that even this guy (with his amazing line work) uses projectors for accuracy. That makes me much more inclined to use it for fast accurate proportion sketching, thanks for showing that :)

Don't use projectors, try a doodle grid, At least you can do that in day light

Brisbane, west end urban climb is the warehouse it was painted in and the place it was hanging is brisbane powerhouse.. not sure if its still there
