      Please file a complaint against that doctor. I can understand if you don’t have any money to take things further (getting a lawyer, suing them, etc.) but this could be the last straw for the hospital or clinic. That teacher is terrible. It’s common sense that seizures happen randomly and it can happen to anyone. It doesn’t happen because you’re unhealthy. Good luck, whether that’s with the doctor or with your seizures. I also hope that doctor isn’t yours anymore… there can’t be an excuse that will justify that statement. If they were having a rough day they could’ve given some medicine to help with your seizures and asked you to come in a few days or weeks. Although it’s not that helpful to you, it’s better than saying an untrue statement. Anyway, hope you stay healthy!

    My doctor told me that this thing I had was something normal. A few months later it turned out to be an infection and was taken to a different doctor. I missed schools for several days and had to get something to apply in that area. It hurt really bad, it felt like it burned, stung and so much more worse pains. I would scream of pain sometimes. 0:40 When I was younger, I got a really bad fever and my parents took me to the hospital and they were kept waiting for 2 hours before they finally attended us. The nurse told us to go home and give me some tylenol.. that it was “just a fever” and then they wanted to be paid for literally telling us to go home. Ah, Lyme -- my very old "friend." I actually found a tick latched onto me once around the time we now figure I must have contracted it. We removed said tick and went to the doctor, who told us not to worry about it and that we didn't need to get the tick tested because it was "the wrong kind of tick."
    Within a few months, I started getting sick a lot for no apparent reason. Went through a bunch of tests that all turned up nothing as I continued getting sicker, having brain fog that made school harder, and having to drop out of more and more activities as allergies worsened and my energy plummeted. Then a year and a half after the bite, I was diagnosed with late-stage/neurological/chronic Lyme. I'm now almost nine years post-diagnosis and still disabled from it (though I'm slowly working towards having a little more of a life/hopefully becoming financially independent). All likely because that one doctor told me not to worry about a tick bite, so we neither tested for Lyme nor took any steps to address the possibility that I'd contracted it until we were beyond the time window when it would have been easy to treat. (It's possible that I had a different bite that I didn't notice [tick nymphs are VERY tiny], but the timing is highly suspect.)
    Moral to the story: Doctors know a lot of things, but they don't know everything. Get the tests just to be sure, and because there's the possibility of a false negative (it's disturbingly common), start on at least a basic protocol RIGHT AWAY (cut out sugar from your diet for a few weeks at least [spirochetes feed off of sugar], and either talk to a Lyme-literate doctor [who can hopefully prescribe antibiotics or something else to kill the spirochetes before they have a chance to reproduce and cause widespread damage] or check online for info on dietary changes that can help [diagnosed Lyme patients can often give you a lot of information because we've all had to become experts in our own condition to function, but remember that Lyme and co-infections attack different people differently, so there's no one-size-fits-all treatment that works for 100% of everyone] -- preferably do both of these things). Lyme is WAY easier to treat/eradicate immediately after getting infected, which is why it's important to ATTACK it as SOON as you've contracted it (or suspect you might have). If it's not addressed quickly, you may be looking at years of treatment and possibly a lifetime of illness depending upon how long it's been, how many co-infections you have (borrelia burgdorferi tends to bring friends), how effective your treatment plan is etc.
    Stay safe and take care of yourselves, friends.

      @hanbieshin2304 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      WTF. Please say that the doctor got some sort of punishment. That is NOT right.
      On the other hand, I'm very glad that you're recovering. Stay safe as well!

    • @RissaFaith94
      @RissaFaith94 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@hanbieshin2304 Thank you. I'm in a better place now than I used to be -- still disabled, but learning to live my life and respect my body while doing it. ♥️
      Honestly, I don't even remember the doctor's name, and they weren't my regular doctor at the time, so I never had any more contact with them after that appointment. But sadly, Lyme -- like a lot of other "invisible illnesses" that are hard to diagnose due to their rarity or confusion with other conditions -- often gets overlooked or misdiagnosed as something else.
      There was also a belief in the medical community (which may still be common) that Lyme can't be chronic and so any patient who continues to have symptoms either is imagining them, is having some fallout from a prior infection that's no longer active, or is being affected by an unrelated condition. It's not very well-understood and even the CDC has had to admit in recent years that some things they thought they knew about it were wrong (e.g. they found out that false negatives happened more than they thought, that the bullseye rash wasn't always present, that some people continued having symptoms long after transmission [although the cause is hotly debated], and also that mosquitoes could transmit the disease [if I'm remembering correctly -- feel free to fact-check me, because my brain is tired and my memory is terrible]).
      I've known people who've gone through multiple expensive surgeries for secondary conditions, been referred to psychiatrists, been accused of making up their symptoms, had family members abandon them etc. There are usually few repercussions for the doctors involved because patients get written off as either ignorant, misguided, or insane, and doctors who DID recognize chronic Lyme and administer treatment for it (at least at one point -- I hope it's not a thing anymore) could face legal or professional repercussions for diagnosing or treating chronic Lyme because it "didn't exist."
      It's also notoriously difficult to get disability benefits because chronic Lyme isn't a recognized disability in and of itself (though some of the conditions it causes, like chronic fatigue, are, so a doctor looking to help a Lyme-disabled patient get on disability might write a script for a different condition that they DO have, but for which Lyme is the root cause).
      Basically, it's a super complicated and controversial issue (with a lot of medical gaslighting involved), so it's been fun dealing with that. xD I also get a little nervous posting/commenting about it sometimes because... **points back up at the reference to medical gaslighting** But I know my life, and I know how much of a difference it could have made if I'd known a fraction of what I know now. So if one person realizes the risks and takes steps to prevent the same thing from happening to them, it's worth it.

      The highest-profile person I can think of who had late-stage/chronic Lyme and spoke up about it is Avril Lavigne, if you want to look up her story (she even has a foundation to raise awareness). Her song 'Head Above Water' is based upon her experience.

I always say if he wants children he’s just going to have to move on to another woman. It’s my body, my decision, not his. And I don’t owe him a baby.

      @@kgs2280 yes. Discuss that from the get-go. When I started dating my husband I told him I didn't want children and if he does to move along. But he wanted to be with me and was alright with or without kids. In October we will be celebrating 10 years of marriage. Our 'child' is Persian cat.

    When I was a kid, I suddenly got tired all the time no matter how much I slept, could barely eat anything and almost couldn't breath from occasional chest pain. My mom took my to family doctor who said "There's nothing wrong with her! She'll eat when she's hungry." Next day things got worse and my parents took my to hospital. I was there almost five weeks! It was some kind of pneumonia! I never saw that 'family doctor' again.

    I had a breakdown one day due to a flashback. After I managed to calm myself a bit my brother said, "Move on." Like we went through similar things yet he's seemed to move on from it. Yet I can't even hear the person's name without getting stressed or triggered. Like I've tried moving on. It's not that simple.

    My parents specially my dad was feeling insecure about their relationship. Some relatives from my dad's side advice my dad to have a baby and it will be alright. And then they had me. Like I was born according to the outsider's wish and I'm also leading my life according to the outsider's wish. Like I'm a fatty girl so they said me to lose weight and my parents agreed. My parents started to give me pressure about study cause they said I'm the eldest daughter so I've to take responsibility. I want to lose weight and study harder. But at this point,this is becoming their wishes, their expectations.

    It was wrong of that person's coworker to say that the person should dump their long term boyfriend and date the stalker. The mother in law is a piece of trash because she never helped the daughter in law. She didn't care that her son was hitting the woman.

    "there is always someone the has it worse than you!" Is a lie if there was ALWAYS a person that had it worse then the people on earth would just never end. NO there will always be one person on earth that has it the worst, there will always be one person on earth that has it the worst and they may be the "happy go lucky" kid everyone looked at and wanted to be. I know that may not help many people but saying that stuff will not as well you don't know how bad someones life is and you can't rate it either someone may be on the streets,no food and no money but has family and friends people that care and someone may have everything a house, nice food and lots of money but not one person cares they have no friends or family and that may be going through worse than the person on the streets. You may not see it but someone may be crying them selfs to sleep but smile when ever you look don't be that one that complains cuz dad got you pink airpods and not green airpods be the one that tells people if there not seeing what they have be that person that sees the fake smile because we know everyone knows that there hurt but yet nobody helps be that one that says hi because as much as I know a hi can save a life, and a hug can make you cry, if you cry then you won't be the one judged when you crack because yelled "for no reason" or "fake cryed" so people would care.
