- This might actually be one of my Magnum Opus speedruns. I have grinded Haunting Ground for over 2 years now and with a recent reigniting of my fire I managed to get world record back as of the uploading of this run!
I hope you enjoy the run and my joy at the end of it. NG+ is the preferred category since it removes the stamina management and allows us to kick the boss in his twig and berries until he dies.

!!!STORY SPOILERS (for anyone who didn't play the game).!!!
17:25 - Afaik, if I'm not mistaken or remembering it wrong, Daniella was abducted by Riccardo back then and he did experiments on her, causing her to become "like this" and bringing with it a series of mental illnesses. But again, I might be wrong with that.
The wiki at least confirms one part:
"Later, it is revealed Daniella is severely mentally ill and mentally unstable, suffering from a myriad of both psychological mental health issues, as well as physical abnormalities. The official Haunting Ground site suggests that Daniella may be brainwashed or drugged." And this is also interesting: "and is shown to have body twitches relating to her nervous system" (regarding the cause).
It's also not confirmed she is a homunculus:
"According to official supplementary information, Daniella believes that she is a mechanical doll or puppet created by Lorenzo Belli. It is suggested that Daniella
may have been drugged or brainwashed to believe this. However, she is actually alive and it is her own self-suggestion that she is a puppet without Azoth."
But yeah, there is more info on the wiki + sources, afaik.
23:45 - It's also implied that Fiona felt so bad after the "food" since Daniella cooked smth with hair in it (blonde hair), which were apparently the remains of Fiona's mother.

Damn I love HG. The level design, music and the dog growling as a warning, mechanics, unique villains, hewie's behaviour, unique ways of evading, costumes, horrific traps... was awesome to see this run. It's the only game I ever tried to speed run (just against myself) and got it down to 1:20:something on normal. Seeing you demolish it was awesome. It will always be my favourite of the clock tower family (even if it is a distant cousin).

Omg, same here, absolutely! And starting out with running it/wanting to run it myself right now. Doing a casual run on Emu atm for the NG+ stuff later etc. but I've been playing it on and off and am always in the mood to play it since years ago when we got it on PS2 (when it was still only around 20 bucks etc.)

I finally just got the chance to play this great game recently. And, what took me such a long while to get finished, I go to this video now and I see you just nonchalantly beat it in less than an hour loll .... while making world record at the same time!!

such a beautiful game. I wish the cut scenes were unskippable so that we could retain the efficient speedrun gameplay and the scenario, that would be like a perfect movie

Hey, I love this game and have played it enough to know it pretty well. I wanted to ask you if you have ever done a run in Hard Mode, and how that changes the run. I am playing this game for the first time in a couple years and usually play Hard Mode but don't know what strats work and which don't. Is this something you have done/would consider doing, or do you know any details about the differences? Thanks!
I have not actually, the main catch is more aggressive enemies and Hewie can actually die

21:18 - Now that was great Debilitas RNG, aside from his "taunting" at the first thing (but glad his running after made up for it).
And also trying to learn HG as a speedrun in the future, tbh. Waifu Runs and you made me want to finally dive into it after considering it for a year or so and I always love(d) every run
of HG I did, so this is a good starting point for me, imo. Even just learning Ending C at first (because I struggle to memorize or practice stuff sometimes, sadly, despite really wanting to).
So yeah, I'm really thankful for your tutorials and runs etc. And that AGDQ Riccardo, ugh. All good runs, btw. Keep it all up! :D
The 2nd item is for stamina, it is just more fluid for that run section.
