Well there is a fan theory that after spending a long time in the digital world Masaru eventually became a digimon with Agumon becoming a part of said digimon. And that digimon would be Gankoomon
Also, I'll just leave with this: There's a reason there's a full theory about Masaru actually becoming Gankuumon in the future. Agumon would be his Hinakamuy. Hackmon would be his successor in the same manner Masaru was the successor to his father before him. It also explains why he's friends with a BanchouLeomon.
Gankuumon too weak to be future Masaru, Masaru is already on par with a multiversal being, and I bet he probably can be on par, or even beat, someone in the level of Alphamon, after all humans plus digisoul are an unpredictable mix.

I found Piyomon kind of annoying when I was younger(I haven't rewatched the dubbed versions so maybe I would still find the English version of her annoying), I think I missed this episode when Data Squad was airing because I think preteen me would have found it a very relieving moment.
