Pinball Tech and Repair #10 : CLIFFY’S PROTECTORS FULL INSTALL ON STERN KISS

I just installed the Kiss Cliffy protector set in my pinball machine. The set consists of six protectors that are installed at the two in lanes under the wire frame tubing and also at the Back Stage Pass Up Kicker Hole in the middle of the play field. Also installed were the three ball shooter lane protectors to protect the ball from damaging the wood rail and the shooter lane when the ball is released from the trough.

I purchased a set for my BOP and cannot for the life of me remove the plastic coating on these ramp pieces. Have you seen this? Do you have any suggestions?

Jon, thanks for the comment, Plastic coating? Are you talking about mylar on the ramps to protect the ramps? I dont know of any plastic coating on ramps besides if someone may have installed mylar to protect them. If that is the case, people have used canned air to remove mylar from the playfield that you would buy from Staples or an office supply store. You get the corner up of the mylar, take an air can that you would use to blow out your keyboard on the computer with, and hold it upside down and spray under the mylar to lift it. The cold from the air can breaks down the adhesive of the mylar. Never had to remove plastic coating from my ramps unfortunately.

@@pinballsupernova No I am talking about the protective coating on the Cliffy's.

@@jonmartin6683 it peels right off. You need to get your fingernail under the film it and lift off. You might want to get an xacto knife and stab the piece of film and try to lift with the knife.

@@pinballsupernova I sent emails back and forth with Cliff and he said that there isnt anything on the pieces that I have...Even though it feels/looks like it to me. They are not shiny at all. Was hoping to have a more polished chrome look but whatever as they fix my ramp issue. Thanks for replying....
