Bhutan don't have law similar to Islam. We had laws that were natural with time and social acceptance.there is a difference between reading about Bhutan and actually bring here. Currently we are fighting covid together as a species.
All d best .. let's just hope that we all can always move ahead as civilization.. next I wish that my country ( India) legalize gay marriage.. it's about time..
Homosexuality was no restricted even before the joint sitting. People were open about it. It was just not spoken into the parliament though was restricted in the law books.
Bhutan is a extremely civillised, pure nation. I'd say out of all South Asian nations is Bhutan the most purest and spiritual when the rest fall to British rule or something else (Maldives is neutral as it is a British protectorate)
Is homosexuality modernity or regressive?? What makes us categorise something modern or regressive ? Is it absolute or in reference to current state of society?
The acceptance is "modern" in the sense that the modern world has gradually started to embrace this cultural value and socially engineered condition that used to be scientifically labelled as a mental shortcoming up until the political activists and interests groups took over the "scientific" field. So in many ways, I'd characterize this as a step towards regression. Morally, and health-wise.
@@SerenityM54L2SAM5L5N1 hmm..wondering if sexual act is essential for expressing love... And whether repeated exposure to sense organs via media or society about homosexuality increases its presence... And how someone differentiate they are homosexual by birth vs social conditioning? And how sexual act can be done with anyone any gender any animal and how it is only moral focus which prevents it....don't know who will have all answers.....
Homosexuality is neither progressive nor regressive. It existed from age. It's personal sexual preference. The only change is perception about it is changing now as people are becoming more and more self oriented and boycotting social framework.
I hope it won't affect the people in Bhutan cause the population rate is very low. If it's allowed then okay but promoting such things would brainwash the children . But the king of Bhutan makes a very wise decision and I know that he will come up with some ideas. Long live king of Bhutan
Well, expect a promiscuous and indecent society where the traditional family that builds nations is looked down upon then. There's also a whole lot of abuse and addiction interconnected with these groupings, that the Western media never would tell you.
@Serenity lies, lies and more lies, stop with your lies. Heterosexual people are divorcing, ab***g their kids, committing adultery and you're saying traditional family will be in trouble because of homosexuality? Please, stop!
I'm from bhutan 🇧🇹 proud to be Bhutanese 🙂

@@shrishti6406 yes, I hope India recognizes it!
The celebration footages are from around the world and not from Bhutan. We, Bhutanese, are happy that this age old law has been amended.

Bhutan too had similar Islamic laws like no homosexuality?
No we just didn’t have the law for homosexual marriage but now we do. Our law system is still evolving
No we didn't have any law. Now we do. 🤦🏻♀️
The Dragon emperor foresaw this when he allowed T.V to be broadcast to the population

Bhutan still has homophobia in it, despite the law being scrapped, it's not gonna be like the us where it is free speech, you can still get hated on
Gays are gays regardless. Forcing gays to have sex with the opposite sex to have children is so unethical

Exactly right.
Your comments are the most underated 😊
@Urjjo Bandyopadhyay During that age, people inherited wives, had unlimited wives. The final messenger limited polygamy and restricted polyandry.
