Richie's most fiery playing was easily on the Farenheit tour in 1985, donning the Schoepfer custom Les Paul and Hamer Explorer. His tone was to die for and his playing was raw, hungry and aggressive.
He later assumed the persona of a blues man and the fire just wasn't burning as hot. He was still great, but I love watching old clips of him ripping.

Anything from Wembley 95 is amazing. The always second solo is my favourite of all time!
And I was lucky enough to see him play dry county too! Amazing!!!!

O melhor que eu vi pessoalmente foi o solo de encerramento de Always em São Paulo no ano de 2010.
    Era aniversário do Tico, 06/outubro/2010.
    Estádio do Morumbi.
    Foi insano e inenarrável ❤

While it's difficult to pick one over my fave of the Moscow Music Peace festival (which lives in my soul), that one with Les Paul is knocking at the door for top spot.
None of the 'rock star' flash of some of the others. Just Richie playing & feeling the music (like the Moscow intro imo).
That man was born to play music like that.

He is a excellent, guitarist was reading credits, and thank yous on slippery when wet under his name which came out in 87 he gave thanks to Randy Rhoads which died in 82. I can see why he is with many other influences excellent.

some people seemed to overlook their musicianship because Bon Jovi were labelled "hair band" back in the day ... what a shame

This was before Bon Jovi became a corporation, a mass-production machine... You can see how he let all his talent soar without the limitations imposed by the CEO. I believe he expresses it best in "You Can Only Get So High.

Richie’s gtr playing was unbelievable on These Days (1995). 5 yrs later, with the release of Crush they aimed for a ‘new’ sound - music no longer emphasised on guitar solos or at least what Jon thought. So from there, Richie really had to limit what he could do with the gtr. Then the sound started to lose a lot of its hard rock edge..with Richie leaving pretty much sealed it. Even today with an amazing guitarist like Phil X, his skills don’t shine with Bon Jovi
