If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.

Compared to other "Business TH-camrs", Alex is humble and drops real practical advice and knowledge for free. Best out there.
I’m still working on the action step from 27 videos ago (1 or 2 weeks ago?) - spend 4 hours a day on the one thing that brings in the revenue. The things I’ve accomplished - important things - just from a couple weeks of following that tells me this guy knows the simple secrets to wealth.

Bro, respect 🫡 I was in the audience and asked a question in this video… I spent ~$12000 to fly from Australia to go to this event and when people ask, “Was it worth it? What did you learn?” My answer is, “Yes and the 1st 4 hours of the day on the #1 thing.” I came back to Australia and added $40k to the business after doing this for 3 days in a row. Worst part… I’d heard Alex say this 10x before but something about being in the room and hearing it and knowing I was spending like $6 per minute to be there made me really pay attention and action it haha 🤣
@@spencerlupton117Basically if you are a relatively new business it is whatever your key prospecting and/or lead generation activity is. Because to grow your biz at the beginning is all about growing the number of customers. If you have a more mature biz it might be something else like customer value or referrals but if you aren’t at say $1m in sales it’s probably about finding new customers - 4 hours a day.

Hey Alex! Love your content. Quick audio tip:
Put a de-esser and compressor/limiter on your audio. It will balance everything immensely, and is basically set and forget. If the guy in charge is wondering what to use: Fabfilter pro-DS (turn threshold until you’re reaching a couple db’s of reduction) and the Pro L2 limiter (same thing, can be more, up to 10db of reduction). Your audio will be more consistent and less peaky.
thats not the issue. his mic is cutting out over and over again. seems like a hardware issue. or that his mic is only cutting off when an audience member speaks.
the first one isnt really his or his teams fault, might be just a faulty mic
the second one however might be entirely his teams fault which would be wild tbh.

For the person with the golf simulator business. During your slow times you could partner with local courses for indoor training. If your simulator allows.... you could let them practice a real local course. Indoors in the AC of course.

This is the best way to learn!!! You should take it to the next level with a 8 part series on specific areas. This is how we learn from others. And it's more like how school is conducted. Most Courses offered aren't like school! That's why they're ineffective for most,!!

very interesting. I think somewhat undercoverly Alex gave some true gems away here. "zoom out" seems always to be up on point with him. Every time someones tries to articulate a problem he goes to basics or essential facts first, changing prospective, and then dives in again. I think he's getting better at crystallizing his own methods and we'll gain a lot from this. Sometimes i watch these and get excited just by foreshadowing what level this channel is going to get. am i the only one??? am i being a fangirl lol
*People don't understand that the prices of things are never going back down. This inflation is deeper than we think. Those buying groceries are well aware that the real inflation is much over 10%. The increments don't match our income, yet certain investors still earn over $365,000 in stocks and assets. Wish I could accomplish that*

Any tips for artists that want to crush?
I got you fam, assuming by "crush" you mean success (how to be a successful arrist). I could be wrong (but I doubt it): Alex would still be doing business even if he wasn't making hundreds of millions. He just loves business, and the measureable outcome of that is profit. So obviously he has to care about the profit, but you can't equate success to money because money doesn't make you successful if money isn't the goal. So if your goal is to crush it as an artist, you gotta find a way to measure that success, measure it in a way that isnt money because money doesnt equal good art. Mr. Beast would still be making TH-cam videos even if he wasn't as monetarily successful as he is, LeBron would still ball even if he wasn't in the NBA. Elon doesn't give a shit about money, he literally just wants to push humanities sustainability. So, to crush it, you gotta figure out what crushing it means in your domain, and the most important opinion is yours. Are you giving it all you got? Are you meeting your standards? If you can honestly answer yes to both of those, you're crushing it just as much as Alex is crushing it in business.
