How to read books on Kindle without Amazon DRM and spying!

  • Want to read books on your Amazon Kindle without selling your soul to Amazon? You do know that you don't actually own any of the books you buy on Kindle, right? Instead of locking your library down with a bunch of DRM and paying Amazon for the privilige, why not load up your used Kindle with a bunch of DRM-free ebooks with Calibre instead? (E-ink only, death to Amazon Fire tablets!)

    I am very gratefull , for that.
    I also got a cheap kindle and i read half an hour yesterday and one hour today.
    Usually i dont even have the attention span to read for 5 minutes.
    Its like i dont have to buy books any more , because all are free.
    So i found books that i find realy interesting and i just cant stop reading.
    Its like it changed my life a bit
    Lets see how long this habbit will last.

    that's such an great tutorial. I got my Paperwhite 10th generation which was pregnant and I fixed it. During the first setup after factory reset it with the old owner's credentials, I managed to bypass the Amazon account requirements and run the basic jailbreak thing with the Chinese language method. now I know how to get my books from other platforms on it. Thanks for the explanation

Would all the books I've downloaded on epub automatically transfer to the kindle when I sync it with my phone, or will I have to do the downloading process all over again to my kindle?

      You can't get books from cloud library into Calibre. You would have to download Kindle for PC/Mac and then de-DRM the books in Calibre. Here's a video I have about the process: th-cam.com/video/_T794U_yahM/w-d-xo.html

    Eric some excellent points and suggestions here, e.g. keeping it in Airplane Mode, and using Calibre. It's a pet peeve of mine that, say you want to read long-dead public domain writers, maybe Charles Dickens, and by default, you're pushed to pay for the privilege. OK, if a publisher has to physically print the book, there's a cost there, but there's virtually no cost to distribute electronic copies. That should always be free.

    Yeah, this is how i feel about some video games ive bought in the past. I had two steam accounts one for my brother as he was young and i was monitoring his account and the second was my personal account. They closed my accounts because i violated their terms and conditions. I ended up pirating the games i lost access to and all was good. I ended up getting a new steam account and only pirate games that i want to play and if its worth the time and money id buy the legitimate copy. Otherwise it goes into the trash bin and unintalled from the pc. So im all for it.

    Very useful. Thanks. I also found that when you first start your kindle, you need to login or register to amazon account. No other option available on the screen. So I have restarted device to skip the login step. After that as Eric said, in fact you don't need to convert e-books to specific format. In my case I just imported epub to the Calibre, and it automaticly converted to supported format for my specific make of e-reader.

    • @sounderdavis5446
      @sounderdavis5446 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'm not sure I'm accurately understandng your question, but by default, Kindles are unencyrpted. But you can go (on mine, anyway) to Settings > Device options > Privacy and security > Device PIN. and set a PIN of 4+ characters (pro tip: you want something you can remember and type easily, but way more than 4 characters) that doesn't encrypt but does make it hard to snoop. If you take your Kindle out in public or are worried about a home break-in or someone else in your home, it's worth the hassle to do this!

MacDonald claims that evolutionary psychology provides the motivations behind Jewish group behavior and culture. Through the series, MacDonald asserts that Jews as a group have biologically evolved to be highly ethnocentric and hostile to the interests of white people. He asserts Jewish behavior and culture are central causes of antisemitism, and promotes conspiracy theories about alleged Jewish control and influence in government policy and political movements."
