Would you say that headphones improves/hurts the quality of the tape? I just bought one of these for the first time and want to know what's the best way to listen to it. The headphones are basic retro-style ones that were pretty cheap, not sure if this will lower the quality somehow.
Great question, whilst you can actually get high quality tapes and players that give CDs a run for their money, personally I’m pretty relaxed with tapes. I find the playback with the wow and flutter to be endearing and part of the character I remember growing up. I’d suggest not having anything super cheap but no need to spend a fortune on headphones in my own opinion.
