“Hey bud, can you turn the throttle down a bit.”
    “Why’s that?”
    “Cow-“
    *intense cow screams*

New South Wales state government own all NSW lines, some are maintained but most old unused branch lines see very little work, maintenance contracts given out to who ever the government sees fit for the job.

@Aussie Pom I went past that way before Christmas last year, and what I saw of the track to Greenthorpe, which used to end at Grenfell, has now largely been over grown by trees and long grass, the junction into Koorawatha has all but rusted away. What remains of the line into Cowra is in very poor condition, and they've cut the line in at least three places for new road work, with no plans to re-connect the rails. A very sorry state of affairs if ever I saw one.

@Aussie Pom very sad ; its a terrible shame that the Northern Tablelands was closed a few yrs back ( under the Griener Government ) I wonder would some of these foolish decisions be reversed in light of the floods and other natural disasters ?

This is one of the wonderful things about Australia it is probably the only country in the world where are train will stop to allow cattle to cross the tracks

Australian are most likely not as heavy as North American trains, and therefore have a shorter stopping distance.

Great video thanks. Was that from Thirlmere? Whose carriages were the silver ones? Tried to read signs on the side.
