I sure appreciate all of your help. I’ve watched several others try to explain the basics of mainstage and they don’t come close to the help you’ve provided. Thank you.
Thank you, your pace of teaching and focus made it easy to follow. I see now how to use effects on channels and also through bus send at concert level.
I'm a worship leader in Kentucky and looking to add some depth to our live sets. I'm also new to Mac and DAW technology. I recently purchased both Logic Pro X and MainStage, but have been overwhelmed with the complexity. Your videos have been extremely helpful and are very easy to follow. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge!
Abel. Thank you for preparing these MainStage videos. I have an issue I am having problems sorting out and wondered if you could help. I have a Kurzweil PC4 linked to MainStage on my MacBook. I have set up four different sounds in a patch list just to check I can get it to work and l linked the "Next" button on my PC4 to a button on the MainStage Screen and assigned it as you described, so that I can move down the patches in order. I am getting a midi signal so I know the laptop is receiving an instruction from the PC4. Unfortunately when I press the "Next" button it does not move down one patch at a time but jumps straight down to patch 4 then as I press it again it works back up the list to patch 3 then 2 then 1. The next time I press it, it jumps from patch 1 straight to patch 4 again. I have tried resetting the programme numbers. I have also tried with and without the Program button ticked in the attributes tab. Do you know what might be wrong and how I can fix it so that the "Next" button will allow me to move down the patches one at a time? Thanks. David
joshua de guzman glad to help, it depends, sometimes I buy them in music stores or buy/download them from their respective website, just google each programs you want to buy...
Just wanted to say I just got Mainstage, and I've been watching your videos. They're so helpful in really getting started and gets me excited for the things I'm going to be able to do in the near future. So thank you so much! One question I did have, and I'm not sure if you get into it in a future video, I know its possible to attach a tap tempo to an Arp, but I didn't know if you have a video on that or if there's a quick way to set this up?
So if you own logic pro x what difference is it setting this up in say a blank project and naming it Patch 1 or something...?? maybe the routing set up for the insrtuments is better with this...for live performance...?
+Deemus J It's an edited version of the steinway, I included that patch in my first collection I released year called synthsation 1. www.thatworshipsound.com
Good stuff! How do I assign the the volume pedal specific to one instrument? I'm have piano and strings on each channel strip and the volume pedal controls both (I only want the strings to use the volume pedal)
and for good reason: I can set up a set list on my Kronos, or Roland keyboard in SECONDS, or teach someone how to do it in SECONDS....I don't need a half hour video, where I have to use a mouse and push a million buttons and look at a million screens to do that.....

I wasn’t paying attention so when you panned to the left I thought I lost my hearing.
100 thousand people were too lazy to watch up to the second video lmao

I am sorry but this is clear as mud you presume too much knowledge of the user.
Very good information - thank you
