"Well you have your radio edits, you've got your 12" mixes, remixes, Peel Sessions, Live in Concert, Live on ToTP, Live at Glastonbury, B Sides, covers..."
what I didnt get the first time was the implication that gary numan is the best of the 80s (im not very quick), its a great clip, and the bear singing "cars" always gets me
It just took a weekend at Black Lake to bring Vincent round on the Funk question. He basically turns their band into a Parliament/Mothership Connection tribute act.
My car is nothing but Gary Numan CDs 😂 I've had friends preemptively tell me before car rides that we are not listening to Numan, lol they just don't understand !
Somewhat inaccurate - Numan's actually work embraced jazz funk on I Assassin and Warriors, so were Mr Fielding to have all of Numan's back catalogue contained within his collection of audio cassettes he could have responded to Barrett with, for instance, This Is My House.
No he is not, the greatest of the 80s, he has released "twelve million" albums though since we heard the only song we know cars, hence the joke, I could be wrong though. :)
Most people don't realize that Gary Numan's discography would take up pretty much exactly that many cassette tapes.
Plot twist - the "best of the 70s" tape was actually just "Tubeway Army", "Replicas" and "The Pleasure Principle".
I can relate to Howard so much, only with electronic music! 🤣/😭
Mighty Boosh was something else!
And here is the drop no wait that is not it. And here is the drop wait to early…and now the drop nope that’s the subwoofer….and now drop!
"It's the slap bass, turn it off he doesn't like it!"
Well what DOES he like? *plays cars*
I'm with the Bear.
Bear in my car I feel safety of all
that build up to the bass was killing me. so tense.
I was laughing harder and harder each time he said "here it comes..." I was quite shocked when it actually arrived. It was awful.
There is no best of the 80s... there is only Gary Numan!
Howard joining in the dance is my favorite
"And this is Gary Numan!"
He has recorded the amount of cassettes that is being held up.
3 albums in the same year, now that's impressive.
"This is the best of the 60's, This is the best of the 70's, and THIS is Gary Numan."
I always watch this clip after I have seen Gary Numan live.
Thats the fifth time now.
Any program featuring GN music gets a BIG thumbs up from me.
yep same here.
Episode that actually features him in the later series if you weren't aware already :p
perfect description of me and my boyfriends car trips, 12 cds of numan
you are so lucky you have those CDs 👍
I really want to hear the full version of the Jazz Funk tape that Howard plays, I love it so much.
It’s love game from the Old Gregg Episode.
vine's little "really" at 1:17 sarcasm 10/10
Wait for that slap bass solo.
"Well you have your radio edits, you've got your 12" mixes, remixes, Peel Sessions, Live in Concert, Live on ToTP, Live at Glastonbury, B Sides, covers..."

The jazz funk bass line was the Old Gregg song.
AHHH The double! I had to watch this again after listening to Prince Jazz Funk, look it up if you haven't heard it. Howard would love it.
This is why I care about Gary Numan.
... and this.... is Gary Numan!
This is still mint 😂
The bear would have hated "Warriors" and "I Assassin"......full of slap bass (fretless)
Yeah, Cars, that's the stuff...
One person loves Jazz-Funk.
To be fair, that’s some pretty ducking awesome thumb work!
I like jazz and Gary Numan. I am a heathen
Thing is Noel loves Gary Numan.
love this , so cool ....
What a lovely moment!)
It just took a weekend at Black Lake to bring Vincent round on the Funk question. He basically turns their band into a Parliament/Mothership Connection tribute act.
Both the mighty boosh and gta vice city has gary newman - cars in it. No wonder they were the best of their medium.
eugh, funk!? jazz's deformed cousin.
Great Stuff !
Lol that bear got good taste.
This is Gary Numan!
The best of the 60s and 70s tapes actually might be good.
Genuinely made me laugh that
Funny the jazz bass line is the Old Gregg song "Love Games"!
~Here in my car, I feel safest of all
I can lock all my doors, it's the only way to live
In cars~ ~tun dun~
I love dat xD
here in my car where the image breaks DOWN that's my favourite bit
+Ryan Hunter oh hey xD
Spookyphan oh we've met before haven't we? Borkman wasn't it
My car is nothing but Gary Numan CDs 😂 I've had friends preemptively tell me before car rides that we are not listening to Numan, lol they just don't understand !
I love Noel Fielding 😂
this came on whilst dad was driving...i had a huge urge just to grab the wheel....
I got told off at a zoo once for playing Gary numan outside the bear enclosure... The zoo keepers must like jazz funk :D
omg!! its cars by gary human….lvvvv
Is it just me, or does Howard's Jazz funk music sound like Love Games?
Gary's a shiny boy!
Speaking of the radio series, who really did invent music: Gary Numan or David Bowie?
Johnny Depp wore that hat in a interview :O Noel's head has been where Johnny's has :O
You're saying Johnny's head has been where Noel's has?
So i'm no the only one doing that dance while listening to Cars in cars :)
Funny thing is that Gary's discography is about that big.
I actually kinda dig that jazz funk tho
Somewhat inaccurate - Numan's actually work embraced jazz funk on I Assassin and Warriors, so were Mr Fielding to have all of Numan's back catalogue contained within his collection of audio cassettes he could have responded to Barrett with, for instance, This Is My House.
I always thought of that, but my biggest guess is Vince was more into the fact that Numan was one of the electronic pioneers.
Haha the irony. Hell yeah
it was jazz funk influenced but actually good lol
Get Funked PUT NUMAN ON NOW - - - - OR ELSE. FUNK, FUNK GET FUNKED
I always get confused cuz it’s sounds like the bit before..
Really?
😂😂😂😂
Garnet: 🗿
jajajaj amazing
lol awesome :)
the thumb work
Vince :-)
I actually don't mind the jazz funk
its alright but the structure is just terrible lol
@muppetkay01 Noel Fielding > Johnny Deep
which episode is this from?
Maybe it's on the other side.
"Jazz's deformed cousin" isn't entirely accurate. It's more like "the son of jazz" so to speak.
No he is not, the greatest of the 80s, he has released "twelve million" albums though since we heard the only song we know cars, hence the joke, I could be wrong though. :)
:D :D :D
No shit. :P
