So, I’ve been using this for about a week now. I started off with it located in my center console like in the video. I noticed some periodic disruptions when playing music. Today I relocated it to the useless “cubby” under the window controls on the dash and plugged into that USB-A. No issues so far! It is a great mod, and I’m glad I have it. Thanks again for the recommendation Matt!

One of the wireless carplay devices I've tried on the gladiator seemed to work pretty well "most of the time" there was a very small delay when skipping songs. The biggest issue I've seen is sometimes after running for about an hour it would just reboot itself which only got annoying if using gps. I'd be curious to see how this one works. I'll be keeping an eye on your experience with this down the road. thanks as usual for all your great content.

The main issue I have with the wireless adapters in the Wrangler is that the USB ports are always powered on. I can't leave the wireless adapter plugged in while in my garage. My phone picks up the wireless signal from the adapter and keeps turning on Android Auto. I picked up the 'WQQBFF' wireless adapter on sale for $40 from Amazon. Other than the 'always on' problem, it does work seamlessly with my Samsung Galaxy S23.

I have a similar set up but something to consider is phone battery power loss. I think some of them transmit over localized Wi-Fi and I believe it drains the battery faster than Bluetooth. I ended up with the Bulletpoint wireless charger mount which charges my phone. I still have a plug running around my dash and the adapter sitting in the center console. It seems to be keeping up charging the battery for the most part but YMMV. Not truly the cleanest set up but no wires to unplug from my phone constantly. I'd be happy to see a product use bluetooth to link to carplay, this is something that I haven't looked into closely as bluetooth power transmission is super low power draw.

I've got the Motorola one for android auto. It really does make life easier. There is a bigger drain on the battery, so I'll usually plug it in for longer trips.
Downside is, the USB ports don't shut off for up to 60 minutes so when home I need to toggle my Bluetooth off on my phone. I wish there was a way to make that center console usb only powered when the wrangler is on... but other than that, it's seamless.

I’m gonna give this one a try. I’ve seen others have some sorta lag changing songs etc. I’ve driven a lincoln navigator that has wireless carplay and there’s lag from the moment you hit forward track and it’ll take 2 seconds before you actually hear it.

    How’s the maps? Delay?
Battery life for both Jeep and iPhone? Does until turn off when the Jeep is turned off?

For the android users out there I've been using AAWireless for android auto since i got my wrangler in feb. It works perfectly 99 percent of the time when it doesnt work as soon as i unlock my phone it connects. It happems so rare i havent looked into it yet. Sound quality is great and just as good as being wired in. It also has a sdtting to turn its self off when it looses communication with the stereo. I leave it plugged in in the center console all the time. As for call and sound quality. Wireless android auto and car play are wifi connections not bluetooth and have higher bandwidth. At least thats how ive come to understand it.

I tried a Carlinkit 4.0 which is supposed to be carplay & android auto. It didn't work very good in my Jeep. it would connect but the resolution of the screen was wrong, you'd go to click on an app on the screen and it would click on the app icon next to the one under your finger so I tried to go into the device settings to change the resolution which you type an ip address into your browser like you would with a router, but it would just timeout instead of connecting. So would not recommend Carlinkit 4.0.

Here is something to think about now you really don’t need the phone mount anymore unless you switch it to a wireless charging mount. That what I installed. You can basically use any on the market because they will fit the ball of almost all mounts and just hide the wire going to it. Makes a nice clean install.

I've had issues with phone connectivity while using the USB in the armrest. I was tired of having to have my phone plugged in on the dashboard and having that flap open, so I started connecting using the USB in the armrest. With that route, I was getting to many occurrences of my Apple CarPlay becoming disconnected which resulted in phone calls that mid call would stop going through vehicle going back to just the phone and also using Nav on my phone to getting completely disconnected. When I'm driving and trying to navigate, it was just too much of a distraction. I ended up just having to connect to the dash, and have had no problems since. Your setup would be ideal if I could rely on the connection in the armrest. Please report back after a few weeks and let me know if you have had any connectivity issues.

If i am walking far enough from my car it will disconnect but at my house I don't get far enough away and it will auto reconnect to the it and not let me play music to any other speakers in my house till i go back out and unplug it. Suggestions?

If y'all are Android users in the market for something similar, avoid Carsifi like the plague. When it works, it's great. Unfortunately, it never stops working. If you're within Bluetooth range, it will constantly disconnect you from WiFi until you turn Bluetooth off. They tried a fix for this in a beta setting and it does not work. I've also had a ton of issues with disconnects on long trips and when driving under high voltage power lines. Look for an alternative unless you want to share in my frustrations.

yeah man i agree i really hate plugging in one end of a charging cord to my phone and the other end to the USB port, allowing me to connect to the radio and charge my phone. i would much rather have this option where i plug one end of a shorter cable into a black box, another end into the USB port, deal with the black box dangling around unless i mount it somehow, plug a transmitter into my charging port, connect the box to my bluetooth where i will have to wait for it to re-connect if i were to turn off my car and then turn it back on, connect my phone to the box's bluetooth signal, and have the carplay ability as long as i dont have to remove the transmitter from my phone in order to charge it and then lose the transmitter........wait no ill stick with the one cable car play and charging option LOL
