great car race commentary --most others only mention the driver.

First time I've seen Hillman Imps racing. Race begins at 5:00.

Can anyone tell me why we never see the classic Mustang Fastback racing in these events. When I was a boy in the 60s I went to Croft regularly but can't remember seeing any. What a pity as the Shelby GT350s would have totally dominated raced then and now.

I was watching this on You Tube The second place car was a Lotus Cortina I’d bet my boots that it’s my old car ! The reasons I think it was once mine are threefold. One, the car is left hand drive, two it has a U.S. spec grill and three, all Lotus Cortinas came with the Lotus symbol on each of the rear fenders. When my car broke down on the A59 one night I had to leave it there. When I returned in the morning those symbols/markers had been pried off. The car which came in second at this race did not have those. The other Lotus Cortinas all had them. Oh, the driver of what I believe to be my former car was Ollie Attard. I think the announcer said he was from Yorkshire but I’m not positive about that. I'm an American car fanatic. In 1967 I bought a Lotus Cortina in Hartford, Connecticut USA. In 1969 my job sent me to Yorkshire and of course I brought the car along with me. As an amateur mechanic I was adjusting valve lash one sunny (Yorkshire? sunny?) afternoon and in reassembling the cams did it incorrectly. The engine got destroyed and being an American with a tax free car back then I was only able to sell it to a British citizen as scrap which sadly I had to do. So that's my story. I'd love to be able to learn if this was in fact my Lotus Cortina. It wa scrapped in Harrogate.

Dreadfull coverage. Our view is drastically diminished by that totally unnecessary graphic on the left of screen.
