- Very Beautiful Rusty 17th Century Pocket Knife Restoration. This pocket knife lay underground for 400 years! This is a very nice old knife with graffiti on the handle. A knife with such a handle is very rare. This knife is called a Cossack knife and was popular in the 17th century. I decided to restore this knife and preserve the history. I removed the rust and preserved the metal. I hope you liked my restoration.

Preservation vs restoration this time! AWESOME! You do amazing work… 👍😎👍
Sometimes less is more! You did a great job and did not take the restoration too far. Enjoy watching you work.
I normally like your restorations but now I have to say that it's pretty rare to find such a piece of metal with not much rust even being 400yo.
Hello mister beautiful knife beautifully restored well done
That is a wonderful, beautiful result! I'm so glad you didn't try to make it shiny and perfect. Thank you.
Awesome 👍 pure satisfying video
Thank you!
I love that you kept it original and didn't replace the blade or anything
It’s amazing that you got out the rust
WOW , good >>>>>> Thank you .
Thanks for the video. 👍👍👍👍👍
A truly astonishing original performance 🎉 .
great work!
Excelent work. Great making video anyway 👍👍
great restauration, beautifull pocket knife...
you got a very good mic - i felt every stroke of the copperbrush (on my teeth) ;)
)))
Nice job, mate. 👍 👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
thanks!
Wow the Benchmade Narrows of the 1700's !
“It’s perfect”
This made me cry.
To think that such a beautiful knife, that was forgotten and left to rust, finally gets to be appreciated via preservetion, it's beautiful.
( Brazil )
What did you do with it after? Amazing work.
Boa noite barbudo😂😂
Where did you get something this old?
👍
What makes this a pocket knife?
First your job is good for restoration part. You keep the metal intact is ot was
But now first this is not a 400 year old folding knife.
400 yrs back the folding knife concept was rarely possible. This is a simple old folding knife from middle eastern area. I saw this type of folding knifes in turkey, Yemen etc where the knifes has a curved Handel and decorated grips.
Secondly if it was under the soil for 400 yrs then tge rust and oxidation must damage the blade much more.
This is not a knife from the east. This is a knife from Europe. This knife was popular in the 17th and 18th centuries, it was also called a razor knife.
There are many types of restauration, sometimes even electrolisis is too much
What - that's IT?? Will there be a Part 2 for this project??? Good job cleaning up the rust and dirt , but hardly a demonstration of your amazing skills.
Sometimes with things this old, rare, and historical it is best to NOT replace things, and to clean it up best as you can to preserve the value/integrity and history of the piece. It isn't always about making it shiny and new. With things like this too much diminishes the value.
Vc deveria pelo menos passar no esmeril😊
Amigo , you have to be "thick skinned", you do your best, but can't please all the people all the time.
👏👏👏👍👍👍👏👏👏
Not sure about your estimation of age, but a good job nonetheless
I'm not sure what to think about it. I usually don't like touching things that are over 100 years old, except for cleaning, as it's best to keep such things in their original condition. But you have good skills, respect for that
Why is it better to keep them in their original condition? Are they not just going to rot away?
They didnt have pocket knives 400 years ago. Pocket knives came around about 100 years ago
@@dottednumpad your right. I retract my comment. I did more research after and found out there were various types of folding knives since the 600 BC.
I love how he took a 400 year old pocket knife and removed any trace of value that it may have had left in it! 🤣
👍👍👍👍
Jack the rippers knife, government will take it a say it's evidence.
That knife wasn't even worth saving. Too far gone.
This knife is history. I restored it for the museum, not to use it.
Just my opinion, but that isn't a restoration by any stretch. It is merely a rough cleanup at best... Restoration is when you actually make it look and function like it would have when initially made... Obviously it isn't a functioning knife at this finished point! I do appreciate your efforts, but it is merely cleaning up the metal and that's it...
Just my opinion but maybe you don’t need to throw your opinion around maybe nobody cares what you think
Well, there are couple schools of thought or techniques about restoration. One is to just rescue the piece and stop the deterioration and the other is what you propuse. In any case, it’s up to the restorer to choose which one should use. All depends on the antiquity of the piece.
We’re all waiting for the link to your channel where you do even better…🦗🦗🦗
Well if you start replacing parts it’s not worth as it would be changing crap out such as the blade and etc
@@liljam92Yeah if you replace the parts depending on what you replace and how much it can become a big Ship of Theseus situation. So I definitely understand keeping it original and it has a charm to it as it's original form.
"400 years" 👈👎
Amazing restoration😮
Congratulation and Greetings from Belgium 😉🇧🇪👋
