The socket needed for the tensioner is 19mm for the hex head just above and forward of the pulley wheel, six point is best. I used a harbor freight tensioner tool with the 3/8" square end, with the handle pointing straight up it has enough space to release. Definitely have a buddy help you if you want to get done before 2 hours.
We literally just changed that and an broken tensioner Assembly yesterday with the little warm weather we got what a pain I'm still having nightmares about it😫 but thank God we got the job done. Kinder wish we had came across this video right here👀😏
ive done the radiator im not looking faward to this its a pain but i need to save this video for me to watch as i do it hopefully my alt arrives soon love my rav 4
very helpful! only problem is now I cant put back the new one properly probably because of that kind of tab you talk about at 6:04 I dont really see how can hit on it with a hammer what size did you use? and any other tools? scared of hitting the sides and deforming the threads inside
