Brian and Nikki are incredible guitar players and they vocal great together, not many bands have that connection, they feed off each other , hands down one of the best bands live, they are sick!
Hmm, I've never considered SSPU to be like the Pumpkins. I think SSPU have a sound that's a little more accessible to more people. I personally think you either love the Smashing Pumpkins or hate them. (I love them). As much as I like SSPU the band never felt as "do or die" to me.

I just discovered this band. They're FUCKING AWESOME. I also noticed the drummer seems to play like half left-handed or something, as he plays the cymbals with the left hand.. that's interesting too.
WTF. Guitar Center! This man asked this question over 4 fucking years ago and we still don't fucking know what fuzz pedal was being used in this jam? WTF is wrong with you people? Do you not sell this shit or what? FFS. *FACEPALM*
How the singer could amp the guitar for two amps and make two different channels?? One clean and one with distortion? Noticeable at 0:54, please if someone know please answer :)
Brian is like Ludwig van Beethoven reborn. Brian certainly knows his music, & does a little bit of everybody. In this one, he does a Jimmy Hendrix type thing with his guitar that is fantastic, at other times Brian's guitar playing is reflective of Lindsey from Fleetwood Mac & Jimmy from Led Zep. Brian changes his voice instrument for some songs or parts of songs. Sometimes he sounds something like Liam from Oasis, in other songs something like Billy from Smashing Pumpkins, or Perry from Jane's Addiction. Some people said they thought Brian sounded female in the studio version of "Nightlight." I disagree. Instead, it sounds more like the female back-up vocals were stronger in the studio version than other performances, & because the lyrics of the song include, "Putting more makeup on the masks that we wear," people tended to get it in their minds that it was a female singer. Brian definitely has a range, & his voice is fantastic. Listen to the 91X youtube video of "Nightlight" to hear how good Brian sounds screaming "Yeah" at the beginning of the song. th-cam.com/video/pqgMFHRx0eg/w-d-xo.html&lc=UgjBgBfTkqMZxHgCoAEC Brian's vocals throughout that performance are absolutely perfect. He nails it all.

Guitar Session's have made it a bit misleading. Are people expecting Dots & Dashes, Lazy Eye and Kissing Families to be on Better Nature this Friday? That's how I'd interpret the advertisment at the end if I hadn't heard them before.

Ever since I started to listen to SSPU, I would say "Kissing Families" is my favorite song from them. Thanks for the video upload!
Dots and dashes is a dead tie with it!
Royal We for me. kissing families a strong Numero dos. So good.
Sucks that almost no one ever got to hear them in the grand scheme of things. So unbelievably great.
The guitar solo in this still gives me chills. Every single time.

Is it me or every song they did on this episode was Epic! man he gave it all he had , most bands on here don't put that much in to it ,awesome!
I am loving this live performance version of Silversun Pickups-Kissing Families. The original video itself is so unique.
It must be hard to put out so much energy in such a mellow song. Like they’re really working it for a song that actually so smooth
It's actually hard to stay smooth. Every second you want to scream your head off

Holy @#$ I saw them live for the first time last night in Jerz and they played this. Blown away. What a great band.
Performing with this much energy over ten years into a band's career is truly special. You can tell they really give AF about their performance
Best version yet! OMG!
Absolutely amazing
Yup. Guitar Center, you've just proved that your channel is very much worth subscribing to.
Tnx for the upload!
I am just glad they're confident about things. This man's spirit is active, and go lucky.
I meet this band 11 years ago, when I was 29. And I think they are such a good band.
These guys picked up where the smashing pumpkins left off - and yes they have also developed their own sound and style. Amazing !!
Like modest mouse and pumpkins had a baby
Could you imagine this band with Jimmy Chamberlin?
@@Nervous29 i really can't - Chris Guanlao is the proper drummer for SSPU. I dropped the SP comparisons years ago, they really have their own vibe
