Love my ark test pipe and isr street catback setup on my 2014 3.8 rspec! It is the perfect balance of good tune, loudness with minimal drone for daily driving I've done 7 hour road trips in it a few times without it bothering me. Great information and build! 👍
On my Genesis I like the ARK. Quiet when I’m cruising through town and loud enough when I’m on the back roads. The Genesis is my daily driver also have a 2018 Silverado and a 1995 corvette I have a Borla atak on my truck that sounds amazing and Flowmaster supper 44’s on my corvette that I hate. They drone so bad when it’s on the highway. Glad you found a setup you’re happy with. Keep the great Genesis content coming always look forward to it👍
I also have the 2013 2.0 with ISR and I like it. That drone to me sounds like an airplane matching the wings on the hood. It also sounds awesome punching the gas under bridges.

I'm trying to get a 2013 genesis coupe premium 2.0 in manual... you wouldn't think thats too hard to find until you only find 1 or 2 beat to crap.. most premium 2.0t are autos sadly:(

Just beat a Camaro on a long strip with the 2013 2.0 ISR auto. My 1st real street race I made the engine do things it never did before made the pass at 3rd gear.
Solo a nice exhaust for sure especially for the money! Wish you can hear my set up with the Meganflow with custom Ypipe and ark down pipes and test pipes ngm headers she sounds so beaut 🤤🤤
you can pay a exhaust shop to chop the muffler off of any exhaust for rather cheap, but it may affect the power gains because it will no longer be the same flow
I did exactly this with my Ark, was not happy with the sound the mufflers gave to it, I literally run it without mufflers and it hangs lower so it will scrape the exit but it’s not that big of the deal, or atleast hasn’t been for me. It sounds really nice and isn’t too loud but it is not quiet by any means.
Man I wish my stinger could sound like this. Idk why the N cars and this sound so good but yet the Stinger is literally a pain in the ass to get it to sound decent

I don't know where you get that the ISR has poor performance and has lost power. It's practically a straight pipe. If you don't like the sound, that's one thing but there is no power loss unless something else is wrong with your car. With proper parts and tuneage, it is just as good as the other two you mentioned, except half of the price.

I mean id have to recommend alphaspeed they have just a show tune that only adds pops and the limiter I believe! But I mean for the extra money the custom or canned tune would be worth cause it will make it faster!
What do you think about a straight pipe on it but I'm gonna pop a couple resonators on it to reduce the noise just a bit. I like the performance gains of a straight pipe but I don't like the noise

I have a Magnaflow cat-back on my 2016 3.8 Ultimate and I love it. Deep, low rumble with no drone at all. It will not annoy you but sounds great when you nail it. If you're not a "boy racer" trying to draw attention to yourself I'd highly recommend it. I had one on my G35 but it sounds much better on the Gen.

Idk man my genesis 3.8 ‘10 sounds great and extremely loud just straight pip with 2nd cats Plus I prefer stock tips I don’t want the same looking tip as everyone and I love it I never really heard theses exhausts in person tho
All I’m saying is I have the ISR on my 2.0, and my friend has the ARK but he can never beat me. I don’t think that power loss your talking about is a insane power loss if there even is any.
Do you guys still have cats though? Because I am fully straight piped (at least I was when I had the isr) and have no cats primary or secondary and the car definitely feels slower, maybe back pressure doesn't affect the 2.0s the same

Stillen, I’m more of a deep tone rather than volume guy and I’ve heard ark, magnaflow, isr which is just muffler delete, and I have stillen and personally stillen had the deepest tone with volume

The thing I like most about ISR is that it produces about 6 different sounds at different speeds it's great for passing slow drivers to scare them.

Best bolt on 3.8 sound imo is Stock headers>Stock down pipes>Test Pipes>Megan Racing mid pipe>Nameless performance axle back (sadly discontinued).

Couple Flowmaster super 10's on the back and thats all you need. That's all mines got and I'm told its what a car should sound like.

Don’t. My friend had one on his 3.8 and it wasn’t really worth it. Sounded too quiet. Had some nice pops on downshifts tho but that’s about it

I prefer the Ark but I’m bias 🤣 because I’m running the Ark DT-S on my 12 2.0t. The DT-S is full 3” compared to the grip it’s only 2.5”
