Finally someone that can appreciate Mahad. I always ran him and always at 1 purely for the fact that he is a lot better then people think. Ive used him to out dragoons and BE Chaos max back in Verte formats when they let him come out. When you need to out beef a dark monster and you cant make quintet, extra draw for Servant or even desperate to get DM on field, he is the one to go for.
I prefer run 2 Dark Magician instead of 3, it makes me a little brick and replace it with Goddess with the Third Eye, I highly recommend it. With her, you can make a good combo: Branded Fusion - Send Goddess and Albas to the GY and summon Albion; Albion Effect: Remove Albas and Goddess and summon Dragoon (:
You DEFINITELY can, I personally just like 3 DM because I find that if 1 gets banished I still have 2 to run with. I actually almost played light hex seal in here for that very reason.

@@TheSjh2k The 3 pillar standards: mudragon, garura and starving venom. Then you can play DM the dragon knight for dragons, dark cavalry for warriors and the dark magicians for Spellcasters
How are you're allowed to summon Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon with Branded Fusion? Doesn't it need to say the exact phrase "Fallen of Albez" as a material? :O
Neither are particularly good but the United Dragon is at least searchable and allows Souls plus Rod to be a 2 card Dragoon. Since Eye is unsearchable you have to play 3 of it to see it with any kind of consistency, but since it doesn't do anything turn 1 unless you draw it with exactly Magician's Souls it creates more bricks in a deck that already has an issue with bricking.

I can't thankyou enough for giving me the idea of using Albaz on a dark Magician deck, I finally found a reason to take out three Red-eyes fusion from the deck so it can actually be playable
I find it to be too cost heavy and just a weaker version of a branded deck. I'm starting to feel like a pure build with more control cards is the way. Summon Limit, Solemn Strike, Skill Drain, Secret Village etc.
@@DarkArmedDuelist could always add in a linkuriboh for protection, or drop Artemis for I:P and add in knightmare phoenix/unicorn for more board removal. Darkness metal dragon would also combo well for Dragoon just in case it ever does get popped and also stacks burn damage as well. The classic ebon Illusion/ebon high for summoning DMG and extra banish pop works as well.

That is a pretty awesome combo. You can basically 1 card into Dragoon

I feel like super poly is mandatory in dark magicians. You have way more poly targets than most and it triples as a board breaker and interruption.

There isn't a good substitute for what souls does, you honestly NEED souls for this deck. I guess you could play keeper of dragon magic.

@@arbogast4950 This is correct. Branded DM is just taking a regular branded deck, greatly reducing the ceiling, and playing a bunch of bricks.
