The fact that there are swathes of people in these younger generations that have never heard epic anthems such as Purple Rain and Bohemian Rhapsody, blows my mind and is what started me off in to the deep, dark rabbit hole of music reactions on YT!
There are always people that haven't heard/seen/tasted or overall lived something you would think everyone did so at this pointing nothing is a surprise.I consider myself in the middle like I don't know all the 30-40 albums but I've been listening to the Purple Rain album a lot and I know many other important songs like Little Red Corvette by heart
I’m not sure the phrase “Blows my mind”, applies here. The 2 word term in your post, basically answers a lot of questions that seem to “Blow your mind”. This “Younger Generation” of reactors, are doing this so they can appreciate music they have never heard of. Most of these younger people, who get suggestions, and finally hear music we consider “Anthems”, love what they hear. Unsure why this sent you down a deep dark rabbit hole. If anything, help them.
Song and artist changed my life when I saw this in the theaters when it first came out. Was the number one movie of the summer at the same time the soundtrack and one of its singles were number 1. Only singular artist to ever do that. Purple GOAT ☔️💜♊️
The stories I could tell you about Prince! Grew up with Dezzy Dickerson's (guitar player in The Revolution) nieces and nephews! They lived across the street! 💜💜💜
Price was one of the best. He did it all, singing, playing guitar, song writing not only his music but for so many other artists. I recommend Stevie ray vaughan Texas Flood for another one of the best players to ever pick up a guitar.
Love seeing a younger Generation discovering Prince! You guys just don't know how exciting and cutting edge he was on the pop music scene during the' 80s. But check out some of his earlier stuff, pre Purple Rain such as ''i wanna be your lover', 'Dirty Mind" , 'Uptown',. 'Controversy'', 'Little Red Corvette' and '1999'.
Nice! Its called purple rain because he describes a scenario where the world is ending. The blood (red) of people mixes the sky (blue) and becomes purple. It pertains to being with the one you love during the end of times 💜
I had my ipod at work one day, i worked in a kitchen. Was singing part of this song, the rest of the kitchen was laughing and making fun of me....i was like "here listen". Next thing you know 3 days later and everyone wanted to listen to it. And they were all singing it lol. I had and still have an epic itunes library i have bought...for DJing, and personal. I have probably 80g of songs now. Maybe 15k of music lol.
There's a lot of great stuff out there by Prince. His version of "Motherless Child" is worth checking out, as is the live performance of this song from the 1985 Syracuse concert. "Let's Go Crazy" and his cover of "Play that Funky Music" are worth checking out as well.
This dude ruled the 80's. He was so talented, a perfectionist and a control freak that he played every instrument on every song on this album. It's kind of alluded to in the movie where one of the girls is obviously pissed and he gives in to let her take the lead for a bit, And at the end of this where he gives her a little kiss as if he's saying thank you, I needed you.
So many great songs on that album, Purple Rain is surely one of the greatest albums of all time. Prince has a lot of great music videos, but some of them do not do the songs themselves justice... be warned!
the reason is this: Prince thought that music can have flaws as humans and so he always did better when live and guess what...he gave to others to make more...remember Nothing compares to U...its one. Prince is a modern day Mozart for sure and will be disussed for the centuries ahead

@ I didn’t say ‘all’ but I get your point.

Purple rain Syracuse, 1985. It was 16 minutes of absolute greatness. It is my favorite version ever.
I'm working to master the second half, six-minute guitar solo, but on tenor sax.
You should react to Prince’s Super Bowl halftime performance!!! 💜💜💜💜💜
Just check out any live performances of his, they're all an experience in different ways!💜
Nice! Its called purple rain because he describes a scenario where the world is ending. The blood (red) of people mixes the sky (blue) and becomes purple. It pertains to being with the one you love during the end of times 💜
Also the blood of Christ mixed with the blue rain(purple rain); washes away your sins and pain.

The 80s were ruled by both Prince and MJ.
Let's Go Crazy, Cream, When Doves Cry, 1999, Raspberry Beret, Kiss, 7, Little Red Corvette.......Just to name few! 😂💜🌧💜🌧💜🌧💜🌧💜🌧💜
One of the most iconic songs
Prince & The Revolution - When Doves Cry (Official Music Video). There’s also an extended version available.
@jamescrane2156. The extended version is the way to go or else you miss the guitar solo.

Superlative.
Sinead O'Conner "Nothing Compares 2 U" (written by PRINCE). One of the best songs ever! React to that! 💜💜💜💜💜💜
Carpetman pleeeeeaaasssee
Prince didn’t really rap (ok Sign O the Times) but his all round talent and uniqueness reminds me of Ren.
@Kindneccessity Agreed 100%! REN is this generations PRINCE! Seen alot of other comments comparing the two. Both absolute geniuses! 💜💜
@@Kindneccessity
REN WHO??🤣💜
You need to watch the question of you live or how come you don’t call me any more where he plays the piano he was also a master piano player
Jesse j cover of purple rain on Japanese game show was insane please react if you could she was amazing
I'm old, but in my lifetime: Beatles ==> Prince ==> Ren
The Syracuse PR is the one to do. This one's staged. Or, the real, original PR, First Ave. '83
For me it's The Cranberries, Pink Floyd, then REN! ........Prince is up there though! ❤
Please react to Chappell Roan!!!! SHES AMAZING❤
