I would thank that the CVT transmission could not handle the torque that the Renli puts out. Because its 103 ft/lbs @ 3000 RPM vs lets say CanAm Mavric X3 Turbo 124 ft/lbs at 6500 RPMs. The Renli has over twice the throttle response. A place here in Fort Worth Texas called Orion Powersports sells these for $ 14,000

I can't help but wonder, Why don't they make these with CVT transmissions? There are people like myself who have nerve damage problems which means we have problems working stick shifters. To be clear, the problem I have is that I can't feel my feet anymore, so driving an auto is ok, but stick is hard because of the amount of juggling between the clutch and throttle that I fear my foot getting caught. It's the same problem I've had with Motorcycles. While I'd love one, I just can't deal with the foot shifter or whatever you call it.
If this were automatic, there would be no problems at all. And honestly, I can't imagine who would prefer a stick over auto. Sure, there are some people that stubbornly hold on to stick, but having lived for decades driving stick, I'm tired of it. It's too much work, and in something like this, I can imagine it's even more work than what you'd experience on the road. There are now motorcycles like the Honda NM4 that are Auto, and of course I know it's basically a scooter with some upgrades and design changes, but I could care less. It's still a motorcycle to me, and it's automatic.
Is the issue cost? Honestly, when you consider the systems that you find in cars and trucks nowadays, like my Jeep Renegade, they come with eight or nine speed automatics. If something like that were used, imagine the fun you could have without always having to worry about shifting. I'm curious to see if it happens. I know I've seen some BMS dune buggies that are auto, but they aren't as cool looking as these. I guess in the end though, if I were to manage to buy something, for now I'd have to go with the other buggy due to the trans. I will keep my fingers crossed though, because at these prices, I'll have to save up for a year before I could even bother trying to buy one:) Still going to keep my fingers crossed though!
