Derek is a truly stunning choreographer. One of the best dances I have ever seen is he and Hayley Evert doing the Passe doble. It is beyond comprehension that 2 people can dance like this.
I am no professional judge, but have been dancing Latin ballroom for many years, and I really don't know how that dance could have been anymore perfect. Kudos to Derek for extremely awesome choreography and a fantastic lead! Cal, Ohio

J Mac I literally showed this clip to my roommate who is a trained dancer and she said this was magic and takes years to teach. The judges on this show make it less enjoyable with their HYPER CRITICISM. This dance was truly remarkable

What is so cool about her, is that she is so critical of others--but she is also critical of herself, demands a lot from herself--then delivers it. Her singing is second to none, and then she takes the chance and puts herself out there to be reviewed and judged as a dancer, you got to respect her
With Nicole, you can truly say that she's a woman who fits the adoring nature of the song's lyrics, she is so beautiful, graceful and angelic looking in this dance.

Wow I had never analyzed why I like her performances so much, but you're right, it's because she "lives" them. Have you heard her singing Don't Cry for Me Argentina? It's such a beautiful performance....I wish she would put out an opera album out, pop music sells her short....she has so much potential for much more.
That is FUNNY Diani that you should mention that--that IS the performance I have often commented on--the costume she wore, the way she "drank up the part" of Evita, sold it and since you saw it, did you see the reaction of Sir Weber--brought HIM to his feet and I thought "man, I'll bet he would take her as lead in that part if he were casting. Another one that I also admire is Tina Arena, doing the same song--she too came out dressed for the part, clothes, hair, make-up, expression, voice and the way she used her hands. Both of those performances could be used in performance classes to show people how it's done, in my opinion. One could argue which is better, but why? They are both out of this world

Carrie Ann is wrong! They finished it. Him walking off holding her was the last part of the dance. Not the part where she wrapped around him.
her point was that they finished their dance (when derek was holding nicole) but he lifted her before the music finished and lifts aren't allowed
