- The shed. A place where engines are meant to rest so they can wake up the next morning. But on a railway far far away..... one shed became a place where engines would sleep... and never awaken.
SUPER big thanks to RWSRailwayprod on Twitter for getting his lines to me despite being VERY busy with moving to a new country. And big thanks to the other voice actors who gave their lines to this production.
Number 3242: *complains about pain from extensive work*
Controller: You have lost face privileges.
Pretty much what happened in a nutshell without going into dark detail
Now this was one twisted story, Tesla! The thought of an engine who was once living and breathing now being dead yet still being forced to work is genuinely bone-chilling.
I know right, turning a non-faceless engine (on that's in terrible condition by the way hinting by the line saying that they were always in pain) into a faceless machine just so they can keep working is pretty messed up.
This is giving me shed 17 vibes, an excellent story that you've told.

Woah, I never even know that the controller from the engines old line can be that cruel, even when he scraps some of them between the smokebox, which was kinda dark. Still, you and the others that took part on this did a marvelous job on making this audio story.
Well, damn! Way to change my views of a faceless engines on SODOR forever.
Small nitpick I had was that Percy's VA seemed to be rushing through his lines a bit too fast.

This is quite a twisted yet scary story! An engine that was once a living soul then dead because of the crucial controller. And also, it's nice to see Percy who for once on Halloween is not scared or intimidated by any spooky story, especially when he finally got to scare the bigger engines who he used to be teased at.
Hehhe yeah, I felt Percy deserved a moment to not be the scaredy engine and show up the express trio without having to resort to cheeky tricks. Maybe he's taking a page out of Edward's book when it comes to using spooky stories to shut up the loud mouths.

Blimey that was creepy. It kind of reminded me of Shed 17 but without the science. What the controller did was disturbing, coupled with the line: "Engines are better seen and not heard." Happy to voice Henry in this. BTW what did the word on the brick say? The only part I could make out was the year: 1918.

This sent a deep chill down my spine and i love it. I also love how you dont need pictures or illustrations, the audio is more than enough and simple enough that people's imagination can go wild.
mam, best friend, this was it. I honestly didn’t know what to expect in under 6 minutes but it certainly wasn’t this!
Originality at it’s highest, it is sad to think there are some people who truly don’t value the lives of others. A bit of flickering sound effects if added at the beginning would’ve been a nice touch.
If I worked on THAT railway I would deal with the controller myself and he would suffer far worse

I thought this was going to be similar to The Monster Under the Shed and, boy, did that surprise twist really surprised me! This really makes you wonder about the Thomas universe. Very Shed 17! This is one of the darkest stories out there for the TTTE community!
Heheh glad to hear the twist surprised you. I kinda had this idea forming for a while; if engines can talk.... what would happen if a controller get fed up with the whimpering and solved it once and for all in a really twisted manner?
Hmmm.... I'm sure there have been darker than this.... maybe. Shed 17 I think is the darkest story given the body horror elements. But who knows? I might just out do this story next year.....

You know, before this story came out, i was wondering when Percy would get a spotlight in the spooky audio genre. I'm glad you made that happen (I thought this for a year until i finally decided to put this comment)
I'll have a guess that the Greedy Controller (Or Tycoonist more like) will have paid the ultimate price after that, with his railway falling bankrupt on account of his neglect and mismanagement with the roads more dominant! Would that be true Tesla?
Yeah I imagine that would be what would happen. Along with the fact the passengers wouldn't want to use the railway given what he did to the engines, he'd lose all his business.
Or... possibly.... he met an untimely fate under the wheels of one of his self made faceless enines. Unable to shout at him to get out of the way, he neither saw nor heard it coming. Ultimate karmic justice.
I'll leave you to decide which fate is better suited. maybe a mix of the two?

Man I thought this would go a completely different way with basicly a mistocal shed causing stuff to disappear then never the end a sort of frankingstine engine emerges

Honestly thought this was going to about a shed that was somehow alive, undead even.
Still, Percy talks… a bit too quickly for me.
Good though, won’t be very hard to adapt.
Yeah, I honestly have to agree about Percy'a voice. It was distracting and kept taking me out of the story. I still like the story itself and what not, but I had a hard time getting immersed.
And to Percy's voice actor, I'm not trying to hate on you. I'm critiquing. For the future, you may want to slow down just a tad so the audience can understand you and get more immersed in the story. I want you to improve so you can be a great voice actor for these projects.
I actually didn't realize it was percy at first, since there is an engine that talks this fast in the series
Wonder if the controller in Percy's story got his comeuppance.
So how did 3242 become a zombie engine? Did he get scrap or did something magic happen cause there was flashing green light?
I think essentially his spirit was killed via some science/magic that was horrifically painful, leaving him just a faceless engine that could not speak and lacked character. Like I imagine normal faceless engines do have character in the way they hiss, chuff and ride on the rails. They are living, just faceless. 3242 suddenly didn't have any of that. Hissing steam was quiet, he would ride sluggishly on the tracks, and everything would feel off. Like if you were watching the same engine work with another natural faceless engine, it everything except the squeaking metal of their aching joints would lack energy while the other engine would be much louder and more lively.
A shed where engines would sleep and never awaken what is it cursed or something?

@@JayTheFox99 I meant this to be a hint that there are actually faceless engines who exist, but they aren't dead like Percy's story. They are alive, just like how the express coaches/Henrietta are alive

Hey Tesla, I have a bit of a headcannon, wanted your thoughts: see, I think that the engine that told the story to Percy was Charlie, the version from the story Isn't It Funny.... it would explain why he's so messed up, and he was already close to snapping before the accident

This story was so damn good. But I must say, I’m sorry to sound rude, but the voice actor who voiced Percy did not do too good of a job, they spoke way too fast and without emotion, and it took away a lot of the power and creepiness of the story. If you read this, please know this is not an insult to you, but more criticism. Your voice is excellent, just maybe try working on your inflection alright?
Wdym? The person who voiced percy has actual talent, he should be the voice of percy in wildnorwestors series instead of tines.

The story was great. But...
The VA for Percy sounded like he was speeding the lines to get it done quickly. Thus making this video (In my opinion) not scary. Unlike your pervious works such as "The end of the line" and "The wandering coach".
Now, I'm not a VA. I don't want to be rude And i enjoy your videos. But I felt like this one just felt ...forced.
I do hope the next story "Tunnel vision" doesn't have this problem.
