Monsters Inc Is My Favourite Disney Pixar Movie And My Favourite Characters In The Movie Is Mike And Sulley And Monsters Inc Is Supost To Win At The Oscar Movies Not Shrek.
Shrek is love, Shrek is life
To be fair, Mike and Sulley were wearing suits for them as well, but hey! They still are very cool 😎
The academy literally created a category for animated movies just so Shrek could be recognized as the masterpiece it is, this is how powerful this movie is
So it (literally) redefined the movie industry. Neat.

It’s sad how it was a known secret but no one did anything about the Weinsteins because of how powerful they were
That was a fantastic joke
sickening everyone knew hollywood is evil
@@lemonynora it's still nice to see people calling them out publicly so long ago
That man was really ahead of his time, damn that was gold!

They all knew just didn't actually oust him until they were done with him.
OOF
@@limptoast this part!
Right 😂
Hollywood is so evil for keeping that big of a secret for that long
The fact that Weinstein joke was made shows how well his actions were known so sad.
Now, if Harvey was a greek god, the story would've been very different, there would be a long line of gals and boys waiting to be abillsed haha
That's why you can hear the boos. lol
I know I for one would be one of them Lol
Yup it must have been a well known thing in Hollywood as there was a bunch of these jokes being made. I was watching an episode of 30 Rock the other day and Alec Baldwin’s (or maybe it was Jane Krakinowski) cracked a joke about Weinstein
So much more, and worse, goes on today yet no one will care until mass media spoon-feeds it to them. This is certain.
I wish the Oscars would show animated characters like this. It was so cute and funny.
Too bad they don’t care about animation anymore, they don’t even look on what’s really art of animation. They just pick most recent Pixar film, one boring money making marketing film, a bad film, and an actual fantastic movie. But it’s usually 1st 3 especially Pixar one. At least the most closest.
Agreed.
Fun fact: I worked at DNA Productions, home of Jimmy Neutron, at the time, and I worked on these shots of Jimmy and Goddard. Nobody knew who was going to win, so all the studios made shots of their characters winning and losing. So there are lost shots out there of both Mike and Sully and Jimmy and Goddard winning and Shrek and Donkey losing.
Also, you may have guessed already if you thought it through, but these shots were not CG characters live composited on attendees of the ceremony. They were composited on pre-filmed footage of actors who were never at the actual ceremony reacting to empty seats. You can tell, some of the actors are kind of hamming it up in an unnatural way.
I wanna see shrek freak out rip out his chair and throw it at Nathan lane
@Ivan Exell I hope so! Nickelodeon/Paramount Plus should totally do a reboot.
For example, the purple light from Jimmy Neutron shines on the face of the woman sitting next to him. A lot of effort was put into these.
You did a great job!
@@mysteryg1826 Surely many things that would look easy in animation are actually difficult.
The person who accepted this award also did the voice of the Wolf in the films.
So yes, the Big Bad Wolf won an Oscar.
coopercastille Wait. Aron Warner also voiced for Shrek? I thought the Wolf was voiced by someone else.
Insert obama giving an award to himself
@@smashshane9434 A lot of people working on the movies voiced characters: Chris miller (Director of Shrek 3) plays the Magic Mirror. Cody Cameron (producer and co-Director of Shrek 2) plays Gingy. Guillaume Aretos (Art Director) plays Jérôme from Shrek 2
Mike Myers voiced Shrek
He huffed and he puffed, and he got an Oscar award.
Back when the Oscar’s had respect for animation.
Now with "Animation is for kids!", I'm not happy with that!
Respect has to be earned. Modern animation isn't exactly getting any better.

@Clark Parker yooooooo, that was a good one LOL
@Clark Parker So much NaCl. He should be happier.
They are trying to smile through the pain while Jimmy is filled up with sodium chloride.
How would you feel if someone mentioned your movie and Weinstein in the same sentence?
Early 2000s were really creative and fun to see animation put into events like these, really wish they did these now but it wouldn’t b the same, still a golden era for animation studios.
I wish they did stuff like this nowadays 😭🤚
Agreed.
Since the franchise went on too long and the internet turned it into a meme its easy to forget how different Shrek was at the time. Disney's own animation department stopped making hits and was seen as old and tired while Dreamworks was brand new, making a film that could have fit in with any of the live action comedies and starring the biggest names in Hollywood comedy at the time. Well deserved.
Shrek 2 is the best of the four movies
The internet made sure Shrek is forever remembered what are you talking about
@@juanin200 Four-year-old comment, before the recent revisiting of interest in the original movie. There was a good period of time when Shrek was being looked back at as passe. And it did run into sequelites after the second one.
I know it sounds unspeakable right now but to be fair a lot of changes were made largely by imitators and the trends that didn't necessarily start with the but certainly made popular by original Shrek has continued to be seen feature animation; it wasn't reasonable but peeps were bound to blame it for the saturation that is arguably still happening today.
Shrek and Wallace and gromit are the only DreamWorks movies that won an Oscar.
Shrek 2 was better than it’s predecessor. Shrek was iconic, but 2 took everything that made the 1st great and improved.
3 is 🗑
4 is pretty good, and underrated. They at least ended the franchise on a high note which is good 👍
I distinctly remember this; can't believe it was 21 years ago. I really wish they'd continued the "characters sitting in the seats" thing.
Holy shit, that Weinsteins joke 😱
That is what I was thinking. This is also 12 years before the MeToo movement started to kickoff with Bill Cosby's scandals and backlash.

Jimmy Neutron did get consideration to have a nomination and now it’s part of watching over and over again to see a Nickelodeon movie along with Monsters Inc. gets its own thing too.
You know normally I'd beg and plead that Pixar would win an Oscar for all of their GOOD movies minus Brave (cause I hate its concept), but Dreamworks winning for once for a production like Shrek I admittedly support and admire since Dreamworks Animation gets hardly anything unlike Pixar or Disney.
Toy Story 4 was a mistake.
