    An Aussie with a Swiss sleeping mat, nice 😉. I've got 3 mats of the same brand and would never want another one. Greets from Switzerland

    Loved your idea of using the sleeping bag liner as a laundry bag. Brilliant idea. Will steal that one 😁👍

    Removing the frame will help with immobility fatigue, but will also lower the max load capacity. The frame keeps the pack from compressing. I've only ever worn frameless packs, so I 100% support going that route, but you need a very light base weight.

    I also like taking a razor for shaving in town (and I can dry shave my armpits on trail and it doesn't bother my skin) - I just take the razor head (not the stem), which makes it really small and lightweight

    Thanks for your video's! Your PCT documentary is a real beauty, have watched it multiple times by now 🙂
    About your camera, didn't you take any additional batteries? Or does that cam last long enough to film on a day to day basis?

    The rain skirts are nice to. It’ll wrap around a little more than once to overlap. An go down mid shin or so.
    But can move in it easy. Since it’s open won’t get so hot. Packs to about nothing

    Brilliantly informative thank you Courtney. I loved your PCT documentary too! I’m hoping to be in the PCT class of ‘24, so i’m doing all kinds of research! Thank you

    Very good job of showing how you pack your backpack. Didn't see a jet stove of any kind so I guess you didn't use one? Hot food and coffee is a must have for me so that has to be a part of my gear.
    Let's hike together at some point.

    Hey Courtney, I love your vids. I wonder if you would do a short video about being vegan (or even sustainability in general) on long thru hikes. I get away with freeze dried meals on trips up to 2 weeks, but can't imagine doing that all the way through my planned PCT hike. Best, Chas from Queensland.

    Thank you for making this! I was so curious what you packed on the PCT. Maybe a dumb question, but didn't you worry about your down coat getting wet just loosely packed on top like that (as in not in a dry bag I mean)? I'm always terrified of mine getting wet as I've heard down takes forever to dry out after it's wet.

    What would the benefit be for using trail runner vs hiking boots made for backpacking? Did you find that you missed that ankle support at all? Going to start backpacking and thru hiking and just want to ask some questions about footwear.

    Stupid question: Did you not use sunscreen?

    • @courtneyevewhite
      @courtneyevewhite  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not a stupid question at all! I did for maybe the first week… I think maybe we’re used to higher UV index in Aus so it didn’t effect me too much… or it could just be that I was covered in dirt the whole time 😂
