Great video, even without words. Are those joined surfaces straight from the table-saw, or is there other prep involved? Any particular blade specs to use?
thanks! after 45 degree cut we use alcohol to wipe out the joints and that's it. The best blade that is work for me is - triple chip blade 5 degree negative teeth. And I'm raising the blade almost maximum high. In that case the cut is more straight and blade less flexible because closer to its center
I'll reply, since your comment was in reply to mine and so it came to me...no, it's DuPont Corian, according to the video title, which is the first/oldest brand of plastic solid-surface. Much harder than PVC, and glue-able, unlike PVC.
Wrong. Tape the entire seam with one piece of tape along the seam. Opening the v groove after you close it will give you air trapped in the seam and create voids.
One long piece alone - is not going to hold, and you don't see if the glue is coming out and you don't see if your front seam is properly closed or start opening up from force. I did a lot of joints and I also cut a lot of bevels on glued edge, and I newer have voids. If you feel your job - you are going to be good ) I'm opening and closing joint to move the glue out and spread it evenly. Anybody can practice their own ways after knowing base or similar method
Also didn't purge the glue tip. It never mixes all the way in a fresh tip. Always waste the first bit of glue on a fresh tip. Looks like a Wilson art color.
Yes that's nice, very cheap and can't do a bull nose on it. That edge is weak and it is a lot cheaper to build it that way. But I'll never give someone a top like that. Mine all have th standard 2.25" solid surface straps on all the finished edges. My goodness I wish I could get away with that my clientele would go what's that? I'm not accepting that.
