I've not fished BB for, probably 15 years. I Google Earthed it to see what they'd done. It's changed a heck of a lot.
But I no longer fish now due to ill health. However. Got a weird floater fishing story that's 20 years old now.
Fishing a small lake that's now been filled in in Worcestershire and it was a lovely warm summers day. Carp we sunning themselves and I had some Chum mixers so i thought i'd give it a go.
Catapulted mixers and waited. 5 mins later, and the carp were greedily taking them. So out went the hook bait. Nothing for 15 mins. More chum was catapulted out and the carp were feeding.
So changed bait to a brown pop up boilie. Still nothing. Even my mate was fishing up top to. me one side of the mixers and him on the left side. This went on for about 1 to 2 hours and we went through all the normal baits, flavours, oils. The lot.
So in desperation, I said to my mate, _"I'm going to use a pink fluro crab pop up."_ He just laughed. Pink pop up on and cast out. Within 10 seconds of it landing... Gulp! Gone.
Not a massive carp. There was nothing over mid 20's in the pool. But she weighed just over at a smidge 15lb. So I was happy. My mate. He was gutted 8-))...
PS - There were 3 other anglers all fishing the top and no one else was catching either. When they asked me what I caught mine on, they couldn't believe it! ;-))...

2.5lb test that rod is not 2.25. You dont need a reel that holds loads of line he says,with a reel holding just the 240 metres 😂😂
