    These 2 wonderful ladies have worked together for years. The talent on show is exquisite and the singing is sublime. But to also be such accomplished musicians as well is just absolutely stunning. Just shows that Scottish and Irish Gaelic music is supreme.

    Long live Gaëlic languages and Breton language too, they can convey so much emotion that no language else can do, I'm a piper, whistler and flute player, I ever deeply vibrate when playing and listening Celtic musics and songs, our roots, the old tunes and songs will never go out of fashion,
    This video is a part of our cultural treasure, that will never be neither spoiled, nor be killed, this is our soul, our inner harmony of everyday, not our body, so...could never be destroyed, I'm glad

      Breton is a Celtic language too, as are Welsh, Manx and Cornish. I don’t think there are any native Manx speakers left, very few Cornish speakers, but Irish, Scots and Welsh are flourishing. I think Breton is as well.

    I listen to these songs to keep my ancestors alive, within me. I can't let my culture died. My Gran is half welsh, thus began another stage in my family of losing our identity. My father grew up speaking English. And I live in North America for the past nine years, so I know the affect English speakers have had on our planets' human cultures. I listen to these songs to keep myself alive. : ) While I live here, and listen to Indigenous Americans for our way of life, until I can return, if I return, to The Island off the coast of Europe.

    At time mark 00:52 starts one of the most beautiful songs from that Celtic/Gaelic cultural area (Ireland/Scotland/a.o.). That melody sung by Muireann is outstanding and wonderful. Also both flutes (Julie Fowlis and Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh) are played fantastically clear. Not to forget the fine guitar and bouzouki. If I may suggest something: the song should finally end with a short line of the great singer's vocals. :-)

There's still a few to track down, but I am happy I found this again, it was one of my favorite videos she had us watch. • @erikm8372
      @erikm8372 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don’t know if you know, but AutoTune isn’t a remedy or a “fix” for bad singers. It’s a fun tool, and a sound effect, more than anything, to make the voice sound digitized, electronic, futuristic, or “space age-y”, even. Makes the voice sound mechanical, robotic, etc. It’s purely a sound effect. If you sing badly, and use autotune, you’ll sound like a robot who can’t sing. 😂

    After singing, the tunes they play on whistle are "An Bairille"-which is essentially a form of "The Rocky Road to Dublin" slip jig-followed by "Boc Liath Nan Gobhar", which might just be the Scottish inspiration behind the Donegal jig "The Further in, the Deeper". Very similar structure.
