13:20 The "lions" are to stop cars. The lions themselves come in two sizes and are particular to Stockholm. Most cities either have a generic wedge shaped one or with a local shape. Solna's got Footballs, and Mora's got horses and so on...

Pretty sure we invented Kebab Pizza sometime in the late 80ies.
Trams used to be a thing in Stockholm, but were replaced by busses in the 60ies? Fairly recently new Tram lines has sprung up, so I guess the Trams are back in town.
The concrete Lions are called "Gråsuggor" (an insect, but "Sugga" also means female Pig, and "Grå" means Gray) where I grew up, but are in other areas refered to as "Grisar" (Pigs).
Lions have always been a part of the National Coat of Arms, so it makes sense, but sometimes they have the shape of a Cleat or a Boat.
The most common way, IMO, to eat a "Semla" is to remove the top and scoop up some of the cream, but some eat them like a burger, and the old way is to eat it sitting in a bowl with hot milk with a spoon.

In Sweden we like sauce on our pizzas, we love sauce on everything! And no, we usually don't dip pizza :) The most common sauce on pizza is bearnaise. When you take the pizza home they usually put the sauce in those little plastic containers. If you eat at the restaurant you sometimes get the sauce directly on the pizza, especially if you didn't order extra sauce. The pizza sallad is just shredded cabbage, it was invented by an immigrant here in Sweden. We swedes always expects sallad with most foods and all pizza places make their own. Recipes varies but it's usually soaked in vinegar with salt and pepper.

The trams in Stockholm is in one way a rather modern way of transport but historically trams have been used since 1877, back then as horsedrawn ommnibuses. 1901 the electricity entered the picture and it led to a wast expansion of the tram net. From world war II the trams were slowly decommisioned until it was handed a death sentence when Sweden abandoned driving on the left side of the road and started driving on the right instead. The tram tracks had to be moved and it was deamed too expensive I guess. However trams are good for the environment as it turned out so the trams made a come back in the 2000s and currently there is 38 km of tracks in Stockholm.

The pizza salad is eaten in three different ways.
If you're at the restaurant, you often get a salad buffet that always includes pizza salad, along with items like fresh bread, corn, carrots, pepperoncini, and other similar items, maybe with some dressing. This salad is often eaten while waiting. Some people save the pizza salad for when the food arrives and eat it together, either on the pizza as a topping or on the side.
If you bring the food home, I assume most people eat it with the pizza. Either as a topping or on the side.
The Sauce is also eaten in different ways. Some put it on top of the pizza as a topping most that is most common. Some use it as a dip but that is less common. When you buy a kebab pizza the sauce is usually already on top of the pizza when it arrives.

And the cabbage needs to be sliced thin, and you have to Work the sallad( crush it with your hands a bit when you make it) its ALWAYS Better to let it be in the fridge for at least 2h. But best the day after.

We're in the same boat.. My two favorite pizzas are tuna with green peppers and jalapeño or another one with chicken, curry, banana and pineapple.. I add cayene spice on it afterwards or home cooked hotsauce.
My sig. other is from Vietnam but her favorite is the Swedish classic called "Hawai" that's just tomato sauce, cheese, ham and pineapple.. made one at home yesterday. :)
You'll see alot of taco stuff and pizza dough in the stores when you come to Sweden -but the tacos are a clear winner because Swedes just tend to chop everything up and fry the minced meat with the (imo boring) spice mix.
Mexican food is popular but for some reason there ain't that many restaurants.. flip it around and you'll find alot of restaurants selling Thai food -but the asian section in the stores are rather small...
The sauce is ringled on top of the pizzas (note: not all pizzas come with sauce) but is added in containers when ordering it in the box so it doesnt cool the pizza down or sog it. We don't usually dip the pizza and just as our hamburgers you can find out that many Swedes eat it with knife and fork -but it depends on where you order. For an example you eat with your hands when in McDonalds but if you go to a pub and order a burger it's more common to see people use cutlery.
The salad is usaslly eaten to the side just as she does but can be added on some pizzas as well if you like the vinegar taste.. some kebab pizzas have fresh tomatoes and salad on them so they could work with the "pizza salad" but I would still have it on the side... most often you eat it in the restaurant while waiting for your pizza to get to the table and that specific salad is only served in the standard pizzerias.. if you go up in price it's more of a normal salad-bar, but they most often serve it there as well.

Pizza sallad is white cabbage in oil and vinegar with black peppar. It's originally a sallad from Croatia/Italy called Kupus Sallata (I think).
The reason Swedes have it with pizza is that in the 60s an Italian opened a Pizzeria in Stockholm. He did this cheap sallad for people to eat while they waited for their pizzas. This obviosly caught on and today I don't think any pizzeria in Sweden sell pizzas without it. For Swedes it's a staple with pizza.

We have migrants from everywhere around the world but I would say that the standard swedish taco is inspired by texmex more than mexican food. And then bastardized like we do with every kind of foodstuff =D
The underground system in stockholm has been around since the 1950:ies and the trams since the late 1800 early 1900. We like to renew them every so often so that is probably why they look new.
The sallad is a pickled (kind of) cabbage sallad. It's either eaten with or on the pizza depending on the person, both works. The sauce is either for dipping or a topping, depending just like the sallad.
You remove the lid of the semla, use it as a spoon to eat the most of the cream and then chomp on the rest. That is what most people do atleast.
Stockholm is built on and around a lot of water so there are some ferry lines on top of all of the busses, trams and subways. There is even an amphibious bus tour.
It is very dry, it's so it would keep during the winter months and now it is part of our identity. The bread comes in loads of flavours and varieties of wholewheatiness.

Sweden is quite beautiful, especially Stockholm. Stockholm's buildings are mostly simple but still beautiful and colorful so you won't really find any spectacular buildings there. The surrounding nature is also very cute with its parks, waterways, islands, and picturesque forests. While the food scene might not be widely renowned, when places prepare traditional Swedish cuisine properly, it can be quite tasty. Additionally, the food scene is diverse and delicious in general. The capital city has a relaxed atmosphere compared to others in Europe and it's very small, and while there may not be an abundance of activities, the city itself is still very enjoyable in my opinion. If you ever visit Sweden, I recommend coming during early summer when the weather is perfect, and the locals haven't yet departed for their holiday trips.

They're currently working on several new subway stations and city districts, which hints that Stockholm is on its way to becoming quite a big city with more and more to see and do. One exciting project involves repurposing old, stunning gasometers into a massive opera hall and hotel, similar to what was done in Vienna. Not only that, but the whole area and its surroundings are set to transform into a bustling extension of the city. And let's not forget about the world's first wooden city being built in Sickla - now, that's pretty cool. There's so much more happening, and I, for one, find it all pretty fascinating, even if others might not share my enthusiasm.

Stockholms metro system "tunnelbana" is very handy to move around the city. Every station is unique with paintings and decorations.
I think tacos, tortillas and fajitas are very populat in nordic countries. It is easy to make, tasty, quick and much more healthier than many fast foods in general. You can buy incridients from any grocery store basicly at least in Finland and those are so delicious.
There actually isn´t trams in Stockholm. But there is good system of local trains like that one in the video and those goes from the Stockholm in to the distant parts of city or another cities near by. So if you live place like Hägernäs (big sub urb) in Täby commun (neibourgh city of Stockholm). The quickest way to get to Stockholm is to take local train and it goes "Tekniska Högskolan" technic high school (name of the station) and you can go forward with busses or the "tunnelbana" that is the Stockholm metro system.
Those small ferries goes from island to other island and carries passengers with cars, cyckles, bikes... Those are very pretty places at summertime. There is like scenery rout to some other cities (communs as they say) and it is alternative way to go if you are not in hurry and don´t want to bo bigger highways.
Looks like spring time and propably there have been much of snow in the roof on outside that has melted and the water is getting inside the building. Also there is a possibility that some of the old water pipes have broken and there is a massive water leak in somewhere. Anyway fire departments have good waterpumps so that´s the main reason why they are there.
Stockholm is very wonderfull place. I have traveled there many times. I used to have relatives and some friends in Stockholm area and visited there alot. I also lived there as a toddler two years (in Tensta that is basicly no go zone at dark these days). But anyway if you go to Stockholm, summer is the best time to visit there. I just love the athmosphere over there and i am always so happy as i visit in Sweden. I deffenetly recommend to visit there. There is so much to see and experience that if you have plenty of time, explore the city and surroundings peacefully. It sucks to go around with a rush.

ye we have underground stations, its called Tunnelbanan( Metro/Subway) and there are currecntly 100 stations, and 10-15 new ones are currently being built aswell, and no we dont have many immigrants from Mexico. we used too have the biggest immigrants from South america, from Chile in the 80s too 00s. yes shes eating the pizza sallad correctlly, its basically a cole slaw without mayo and carrot, just vinegar and pepper, on the side, but some do put it on the pizza. so basically stockholms infrastructure/ public transport are based on few different systems such as Subway/metro(Tunnelbannan), Commute train(Pendeltåg), Tram (Tvärbanan), tons of buss lines(Veolia/SL) and then ofc boat/ferry lines. The beauty of it, is that u can buy 1 ticket, then u have 75min of valid time on that purches and u can use it on all of the systems i namned with same 1 purches, ie that 1 ticket is valied on ANY public transport from ferry , train or busseses. them Lions on the street is basically to prevent terrorist from driving into the public with trucks/lorries.. it happend a few years ago an Uzbek immigrant high jacked a truck and drove it into one of the bussiest street at the bussiest rush hour and just ran through alot of people at full speed and then into one of the biggest malls, Åhlens. it was later found out that the truck had some kind of explosives in it, but it didnt go off....so yeah, now there are alot of them concreate "lions" all over to prevent another similar incident, and ofc in Sweden, why not take the oppertunity to make art of them, its payed by the public/taxes so why not
