I sure do appreciate all the work and discipline it takes to produce these videos. Very chock full of information, experience, and wisdom. I know the whole rotary thing is big with the pens and all and I see all the advantages of such equipment for example. I worry though about not being able to, with the help of a machinist (or old man with a could of tools) manufacture something that I could work with (as below-standard my machine design and building may be, it would work better than a tape cassette player motor and bent Bic pen). I worry about this because I spent so much time on a dead-end dirt road tattooing in Indiana when it was a legal issue to tattoo without an MD (Dr.) on the premise. Sure, I could, at that time, order from Superior, United, and other old-school suppliers but I had the constant worry about what would happen if it became more regulated, I tried to keep aware of how to manufacture or repair or jury-rig my equipment so I could keep working. Also working the way I did, it was lean times, I could not always afford to just up and purchase pieces and parts and was put in a position to do it myself. I still have needles and bars left over that I soldered myself on the days I wasn't driving a cab, working a hot dog cart, or aiming a dump truck down the road. What I guess I am saying is thank you for putting this all down for people to know and hear. I think coil technology has a practicality and stickiness to it like pneumatic tires; they are old technology, but with new manufacturing, new materials, and such, they are a technology that is going to be with us for a while. Dude, you are appreciated. (p.s. Viva American Machines!!)

Nice response sir. Do you remember Cam Tattoo Supply? I've had many occasions where impose a badge, had goods stolen at a cone]mention, or had to sell my machines to get where immersed to go. Cam was always there for me and their 20-buck machines even won me a best in the show. I love that company but they are just a shell of the mammoth they used to be. The same goes for Spaulding and Rogers, Unimax (which I have a personal issue with), United, Superior, and many others. There has a been a consolidation of supply stores, goods manufactured locally, and quality control that lags behind cost of goods sold. I can't remember a time when a coil machine cost $1200 (except for an Aaron Cain machine, or a Clarke), yet many of these rotary machines meet or exceed that price and offer no meaningful difference from the knock off variations found from overseas manufacturers. Plus, no one really understands what these machines do when compared to coils. We're gonna try and make sure that info is available.
The industry is a mess yet you and me and others can do what we can to ensure the following generations have a chance to pick up the knowledge gained from our experience (mostly mistakes) to improve the quality of what is put out after we turn to dust lol.
Thanks for the kind words. It means a lot on this side of the camera

I've watched a fair bit of videos from the majority of the most watched tattooing channels, and this is by far the most educational, well organized, and indepth. It's so much easier to digest the information here, especially given that I don't have the underlying concern of whether I can trust the information like when watching any "Top TEN ways to improve your linework!" videos. Thank you!
Side note; would there happen to be any plans to create a similar video about rotaries and their motor types/stroke length/cam types?

Thanks for the kind words. We have a video talking about some of the rotary machine stuff published last year, but we are adding a large section to the class (and short videos for TH-cam) in the next week or two. Our goal is to break this stuff down in a way that everyone can digest without having to grab a textbook. We really hope this helps.
If you have any ideas for additional videos, let us know. We'll do our best to make them happen
