How Deep Is Too Deep When You Tattoo?
I had no idea. I’ve been tattooing for three years now 😂
It’s something most people don’t think of. Just like how often you wash your squeeze bottles lol
I find it hard to remember all the positionings...Is it possible to have something like photos?Maybe you have some? For different tattoos I mean.I like your videos keep up ❤
I’ll be making videos for this soon. It’ll be downloadable!
This is literally what I need like I need it broken downnnn as tediously as possible my brain only works this way
I was recommended Palmers Cocoa Butter Lotion by my tattoo artist, so ive been using the Fragrance free version of this but i noticed it has Petrolatum and Paraffinum Liquidum in the ingredients. Should i stop using this? Also I have had two 9hr sessions with this artist and on both occasions i got infections. I washed and moisturized 2-3 times a day as per his instructions.
Lotion doesn’t heal wounds, your body does. It’s better to stick with what you’re already doing rather than introduce products that may not be compatible with your biology/lifestyle. If you’re getting infections after the tattoo, and the tattoo artist has very good aseptic technique, there’s probably something in your environment that’s making you get those. I’ll make a video explaining this stuff sometime soon. It’s almost time to get back to the whiteboard
@@BetterTattooing Great i look forward to the video! What is aseptic technique? Also do you recommend anti-biotics if i get an infection?
@tedwilson1477 aseptic technique is the act of being clean to minimize infection. Antibiotics should be avoided unless you have a granulomas reaction or a genuinely swabbed and cultured infection in your skin
@@BetterTattooing Thank you! I was told any tattoo infection doesn't go away on its own without antibiotics, is that false? Also how common in your experience are tattoo infections?
@tedwilson1477 antibiotics are a thing doctors throw around as a prophylactic when treating tattoos that are potentially infected. Rather than swab, culture, wait for results, and treat for specificity, doctors instead lob an antibiotic at the healing tattoo (based on visual interpretation of wound site) as a cure all. Realistically, most tattoos are misdiagnosed as infected based on the amount of exudate expressed when the skin is overworked. Doctors see amber colored crust and immediately go - infection. They don’t swab the area and culture it to define exactly what is going on. They see color and react. This isn’t saying that some aren’t infected. Some are. But most infections happen in and around the home of the client who has received a tattoo - hence why at home tattoos aren’t recommended.
Do a lot of people recommend this machine the ambition torped
I don’t think it matters how many do. If it’s cheap, and it works, all the better
Finally someone that explains shit in the way that a dummy makes them feel… just showing appreciation
Hi!! I’m so happy I found your video, my critical battery has the RCA connector loose, it still works but it stops everytime I move the machine. Do you know if I have to order a replacement for the RCA or any will do? I live in Switzerland and shipping from the states is a nightmare 🥲
Just crack it open and fix it yourself. The RCA back ends on those are easy to fix. You can even just strip the wire or one of the wires that’s come loose with your teeth and grounded against the body of the machine and it’ll start working.
It’s called a spring tension gauge.
I think this is what’s going on with the Tuffking machine I have. It’s my first time using it (it was given to me) and I have no idea how to take it apart
I haven’t taken one of those apart yet. I imagine it’s probably the same as most others? Good luck
So aquaphor is not good
Not recommended unless you live in a very dry climate or have sun damaged skin
What about using antiseptic solution when finishing a tattoo?
That’s fine if you want. Beware that the skin may react differently when exposed to those chemicals, especially if the label states to not use such things on broken or abraded skin
Hello friend, is this equipment closed by induction or screws? Are there videos of it opening?
Screws and glue
Good one, very helpful!
I normally have the clients head hang over the end of the table, as in your first example, then I adjust and place my arm rest under their head for support. For me, that works quite well. It’s comfortable for both the client and myself. Cheers from Australia. Regards from Mick 😎
Thank you for this knowledge dude! Doing my first throat in a week and want my client to be as comfortable as possible without causing me stretching and angle issues
What if its completely detached, is there a way to get the cam to attach back to motor? Thanks
There’s a set screw in the cam that can be tightened to attach it back on the drive bar
How do you remove the bottom piece of the body without cracking it
Twist off with some needle nose pliers… GENTLY
what type of material should the sock be?
Plain cotton socks
I appreciate the Video. I think it‘s important to stau aware and not blindly trust huge companies blindly.
Thanks love from 🇰🇪
What about sauna?
Oh dear god no
After 2 to 4 weeks depending on your body and if the peeling is gone. I personally wait around 3 to 4 weeks just to be sure and I only stay about 10 minutes. After about 2 months I may go up to 20 minutes without concern. Always done this and never had any issues.
@@cubanblanco5009 depends on the facility, amount of trauma the skin experiences, and how your lifestyle. If you’re healed in 3-4 weeks, that’s fine. Some other folks may not heal that fast - diabetics, chronic health concerns, extreme climate.
Thank you bro
I currently drive for FedEx Ground. It's over 100° in TX and our trucks dont have AC so wearing pants to cover it is not an option. Sweat , dirt, sun you name it are issues. Excited to try this method for my new calf tattoo! Thank you.
How to your protect a neck tat if you do labor
Take a couple days off, wear a big hat to protect from sun, pray
How long should a picker use for? How many times would you change it?
Put on 24 hours after session. Leave in for 5 days or so. Replace if any fluid collects underneath the dressing.
Any website to get rotary parts such as frames that don't cost more then the ones that's put together? I'm in the process of making my machine but when I search it it seem I'm better off buying a new rotary or a coil machine that's put together then just the frames because it seem it cost more for some reason just for a frame which makes no sense to me
Yeah I feel that. Just get a knock off and be done with it. You can replace motors for cheap
So I got it and I opened and I have like a weird screw came off but I can't get it to fit anywhere lol so I'm confused how to
I had an idea or question is any of the Vaseline getting injected into the skin
I’ll make a video about it. Getting them recorded this week so stay tuned.
Hi. Thanks for the video it was pretty interesting. I'm a tattoo client myself and my tat from almost 2 years is all thick black lines and all of them are raised permanently. I was suspecting scarring as the artist was extremely heavy handed and it was so freaking painful. He is a pretty popular artist tho so I wasn't sure. But perhaps he needs to watch your video 😂. Anyways, is there any way to treat this? Make it less raised? And if I were to try to get some work done over it would it even take? Thanks
So many machines I wana try but the Yilong pro I wana try the flux clone lol and there’s not many reviews on it
Ordered one now for a review. My friend bought one and said for $90 it’s amazing
@@BetterTattooing I just got a mast sensor and battery the kit new unopened box for 48$ on eBay so ima hold off on buying any more machines for a bit
@@BetterTattooing but keep me Posted on how you like the machine and how it feels to you and I’ll do the same, because the mast sensor in my hands feels perfect it’s 4mm stroke with brushless motor and I am going to make a video when I use it
Check my videos for size comparisons
I was new to that, I wanted a sleeve and end up having a full forearm tattoo with a noob artist and few portions healed raised. it has been 3 years and I am living with a raised tattoo. My sleeve has been completed and my upper arm and shoulder tattoo was done by an expert and it ended well. but I really like to fix my forearm tattoo. is there anything I can do?
There is… But only a really skilled Tattoo) or can probably do it. It’s almost like micro needling over the top of the tattoo to reduce the scarring that’s there. there. I have a video about it if you search it out.
Thank you a lot for your Time and Reading. It's usefull.
Thank you!
Hey Ryan there's no pop up or link to the patch test video. I've searched here on TH-cam and nothing comes up for your channel. I'm currently scrolling through trying to find it but if you could add it here or to a playlist that would be helpful for a lot of people. Ty
What Is A Patch Test In Tattooing And Should You Do One? th-cam.com/video/B9pXkj0XITo/w-d-xo.html
Hey could you elaborate for me on this subject? I'm in a state that does not require a license to do tattoos. I still need to check my county laws, but in regards to asking a client or the waiver, etc, are we ALLOWED to ask if they have these skin conditions and/or conditions such as hpv/hiv, any other blood borne illness, immuno suppressive disorders, etc? Then if we can ask, and they answer yes, what do you do from there regarding these clients? Are you legally allowed to deny services to someone with a disease that could be spread? And what about scoriosis? If you take time to answer these thank you for your time
As far as I know you’re allowed to ask that they’re not required to answer. If they don’t answer, you’re not required to do the Tattoo. That’s the sickness stuff it’s up to you. I tattoo people with all kinds of conditions and I don’t allow anyone from coming into my chair, but that’s me if you’re not comfortable with something just don’t do it. Easiest way to avoid any issues.
you should teach math as well :) <3
Have been through a few videos now and have to say a massive thank you! Hands down has been the most helpful and informative series I've come across. Its really disappointing to see how popular some of these other tattoo tutorial channels are compared to this channel. Majority are just making videos for the sake of the video itself and not actually explaining things properly and in detail, I feel as though your genuinely explaining the hows and whys of tattooing with the pure intention of teaching people and not for the views. I hope more people who are passionate about the industry that want to learn find your videos and the channel grows, love your work mate!
U R GREAT
thank you informative video.... have been teaching myself over the last year or so... only done a couple on human skin so far.... but yeah mine and my partners healed fine.... but a friends arm I did has not healed like the others i've done.... thought I may have over worked it.... but after watching this i'm confident he let it dry or picked at it or something 😒😢
This is sooo helpful, I'm so glad I found your channel! So would you suggest to slightly over moisturise overworked tattoo? Like x3 times a day? I'm apprenticeshiping and unfortunately I way overworked someone's skin in colour, now my mentor said to let it dry until scabs come off and then heavily moisturise whilst a Tattooed dermatologist I follow suggest moisturising. Honestly at a loss of what aftercare to recommend.
Good question. It’s complex how to tailor an aftercare routine to a specific place, time of year, or even the client. There really isn’t a one-sized-fits-all approach to this topic. Rather than trying to find one way to heal all tattoos we should be defining a few things to help avoiding pigeon holes in our care routines. 1. How much trauma did we do to the skin during the tattoo? One dot versus 13 hours non-stop is different amounts of trauma so both should have different care routines. For the dot, little care is required. Literally the person has to avoid doing stupid things, like lighting the dot of ink on fire. The longer session is different though… if the person doing the tattoo didn’t overwork the tattoo or overly stress the skin then minor care is required to heal the wound. The client would need to make sure it says dry, free from dirt or grossness, and only uses enough moisturizing stuff to ensure the skin stays flexible. If the wound is severe more has to be done to care for it. 2. How healthy is the clients skin before the procedure? If you tattoo a 99 year old ex-biker the tattoo will heal differently than a 19 year old gymnast. More care and protection is required for wounds that won’t heal and deal in a short time. There’s a lot more to it than that but hopefully it can get you started on the path to thinking this stuff out
So what im hearing is you barely need to touch the skin
Thanks for the tip big bro, I had a weird issue yesterday with one of my round shaders where it was consistently spraying ink forward, like I held a paper towel an inch away from the running machine and it was spraying the paper towel.. I had to switch out cartridges to another one, what causes that?
I love your videos, THANK YOU!
Thank you so much! This was very helpful!
Holy shit the top-down healing - disruption - snowball chain effect is totally new to me as a concept but in retrospect explains a lot, especially with the marks/ scar tissue buildup from failed ingrown removal attempts x_x
Thank youuuuuuuu omggggg I'm a visual learner and while I'm pretty sure my mentor taught me correctly it wasn't one right after the other nor visual so it went over my head a lil
Absolutely need more info
Short but to the point. Nice
This is exactly what I was looking for as a beginner. Thank You!!
