I know like most of us ready cash is a major issue, but if at all possible you might be wise to look into a front end loader for the tractor. It would have been a big help in the clean up and mostly with moving that log. When I was young I thought nothing of just moving what was in my way, but now in my 60's with major back issues, I wish I had been smarter. Will put my soap box away now. Really enjoy all your adventures, look forward to each new episode.
Yes same here but When I think of all the things they did today that we did back then 60 is a whole new ball game, Some of the things you do now may hurt you later in life like you said back pain for one Please Be careful Doug and Ashley, xo
man, oh, man...….you remind me so much of my dad away back in the day.....since I am 82 years old, that would be a long time ago...but he could devise ways of doing things, too... he and mama would do things together just like you do....makes me have hope for the younger generation...…..I hope the youth are watching this channel of yours...needs to be shown in class rooms...hahahah....Love you two with all my heart....
This is by far the best renovation project I have seen. You are including all aspects which is so helpful for people who are considering a similar move. Your work ethic is so admirable and you are so right about cleanliness and organization, it's not the pretty side of renovation but it is essential for a successful project.
You two are rock stars! If there is one thing that is very satisfying to watch is cleaning up big messes and that was very satisfying. Great job! It's not a shameful thing that you collected all that debris. It was a smart thing that you didn't waste your money on a huge dumpster and only fill it half full. You filled it to the top and no room to spare. Nice!
LOL Ashley gave meaning to the word Magic Carpet Ride! The place is looking really good guys. I look forward to all your new vids and get alerts! So proud of everything you two have accomplished and in only a few months too! Both of you are very hard workers!
Both of you are so good. I watch a few homestead channels and you both have to be the most humble, hard working pair. One of my favorite channels. I wish you the best xx
What a disgusting mess you've had to clean up🥺 I held my breathe when you were battling the log to get it in the dumpster. Ashley is so small and Doug you are one strong guy! So glad you got it done. Thanks so much for sharing! 👍♥️🦊
Both of you should be wearing masks so as not to inhale all of that crap. I didn't when doing the same job, and I paid with my health. You two are such hard workers. May God Bless You and keep you Healthy!
FYI Many in the older generation, especially those who lived through The Great Depression have trouble throwing things away. Years ago my elderly parents went into assisted living and left behind their 2,000 sf 4 bedroom, 2 bath house (4,000 sf including the basement) full of their belongings. The house was full of dirt, insects, mice and chipmunks! I single handedly sifted through everything and gave away, sold or trashed all of it. Then I painted the exterior of the house and a good portion of the interior, refinished the floors and repaired items that weren't working. It took me 2 years to clear the house and fix it up for sale. Their house sold in 3 days for 5K more than the asking price, for a net profit of $332,000. You two are doing the right thing, your efforts will be worth it. The place looks great already!
Thanks for posting this video. I believe there are many hoarder homes and homesteads across the country that are willingly blind to cause and effect of indiscriminate hoarding and trash collecting. You have to want your family to live on a safe and practically cleaned property. The effort has to be daily order to see the benefit of a major property deep clean like what you guys are doing. I would love to see a channel tackle the intervention and reality of this epidemic while the family living there works through the root of cause. Independent Channel style. ❤️🌱
I take my hat off to you again, that was some hard work you have just done in cleaning up and that pole! wow! and I know it was very very heavy. Love and blessings to you all from Scotland :) :)
"Teflon - where it belongs" (agreed!) LOL So nice to have a proper clearout. I am doing the same right now on my one week vacation. Feels so good to get rid of stuff and get organized. Well done!
I’m holding my breath and trying to help you from here to get that log into the dumpster. I rewatch a lot of your videos because you’re my favorite channel. You’re such an inspiration to others. Do this while you’re young and still have the strength.
Wow wow wow wow wow wow...you two are dynamic. Can't believe you got the pole into that dumpster. Ashley, girl you don't look like you could lift anything, much less a giant phone pole. The two of you make a great team. We could hear Doug checking on you throughout the whole process. This is how the pioneers did it but they had much less to work with. Dreams and determination...that's what it's about. Leverage is a good idea. 👍. I know it feels so good to get things cleaned out. Progress progress progress. Love it. I would really like to see Tundra and Beau again. This should be an easier video to make. Rock On!
I think you got that log up so readily because of all the viewers who were physically clenching their muscles as you pushed 🤣 and I loved Ashleigh hitching a ride on the carpet.
...loving seeing your hoard. This minimalist thing you have going really had me pressured... ...now I can breathe a bit more easily knowing you were maintaining a secret mess somewhere on the property. 😂😂😂😂😂
For those saying they’d never have taken a ride on the gnarly carpet ... when you get so dirty from cleaning up barn ... you can’t get any dirtier, lol You guys are true workhorses!! ❤️ Wish I could afford to send you a small bobcat type machine and a 4 wheeler to get around property with gear quicker. If lottery comes through, your first on list for donations, lol I’ll bet you’ll be beside yourselves when you finish and don’t have any full fledged clean up to vlog about, lol
It was good to see Ashley hitching a ride on the magic carpet ....I was on the edge of my seat watching you both try to push that utility log into the dumpster ...but you always come through ! Awesome job ! ❤️
You guys are amazing, it sure didn’t take you long to fill that thing. The way you two got that telephone pole in the skip was amazing. You will have that place neat as a pin in no time. Ashley you hopping a ride on that magic carpet! I had a laugh about that. Well done xx
The two of you work so hard and you work well together. That was one big mess and that log looked very heavy, well done you two. You guys are just so fun to watch, I can't tell you enough how much it means to me to have found your channel, I feel like you are living my dream that I have had for over 50 years so for that I thank you for sharing it with us out in the city world. Great watch. God bless
I just love you guys. Doug was so cute going "full, full, almost full ". Loved Ashley on the carpet ride. Held my breath when you two where putting that huge log in the trash. Wish you all had some help but I know you rather do it yourselfs. This is the 4th time I have watched this so far. Will probably watch it a lot more.
NOW THAT RIGHT THERE IS WHAT I CALL ONE DAMN MAJOR PRODUCTIVE DAY BY GOLLY...!!!!!!! ...(who else was grunting while they were heaving that big railroad tie at the end)... ABSOLUTE GENIUS WAY TO DO THAT...🧠💪👊👏🏻👨👧👑🥳
Much respect for you two, its hard work but this is what it's all about, it helps make your appreciate life and all it has to offer, it just shows you that nothing is impossible in a world that offer unlimited potential. I know your place is awesome now, but your vision of it will manifest into reality due to your unwavering tenacity and willingness for taking on the hard work,
Brings back memories of when we did our place:) just a tip for the person asking how to keep mice out of your home, with our mobile home we put hardware cloth down all around the skirting, laid down in an L shape pattern with the lower part of the L pattern under the dirt a few inches and the top part of the L pattern screwed or nailed under the skirting. It’s been about 10 years or so and we never had a mouse in the house yet:) We check the hardware cloth periodically just like any house maintenance to be sure it is OK. It is pretty cheap and no traps or dangerous chemicals or poisons used. Great video from you two as always!
Congrats on marking those things off your list for the month of July, just in time. Tomorrow is another month and I can't wait to see what magic you guys pull off. Take a down time day for yourselves before you get too burnt out. Thanks for taking us along!
Hi Guys, Telephone poles are treated with creasoat. Bug proof in the ground, best property marker/corner post. Hinge side gate post. Quite a few uses hate seeing it going to waste.
Big round of applause when you got that telephone pole in the dumpster! My husband said no way but I knew you 2 could do it! Your both so amazing! So I gotta wonder why carpet was laying on top of wood in a pasture?? Hope there wasn't a body rolled up in it LOL! 😉
Wow! You two really turned it up to beast mode getting that pole in the dumpster!! I probably would’ve just left it like the previous owners 😂Great job!
Haha! How in the world did the carpet end up in the field?! How you two don't have your own show on HGTV or DIY is beyond me! You are very resourceful, hard working and you show the reality of home improvement and DIY projects, not to mention, some pretty ingenious, yet simple ideas. And Ashley riding the carpet through the field had me cracking up: I guess you could call that her magic carpet ride lol.
That was brilliant on how you moved that old pole!! Ashley for being petite you sure have a lot of horsepower!! Doug watch your back!! Great job! can't wait to see the rest of the remodel!!
Whew! I was scared that heavy thing was going to come down on you guys but when I saw that Doug shoved Ashleys side up to help her I knew it was going to be ok. 👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟so glad to see the yuck go! Looking so good!👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
You both deserve so much credit for tackling head-on the dirty and unpleasant job of clearing out other people's mess. Your work ethic is incredible, and you will definitely reap the rewards of your labor. Kudos.
WOW. Loved Ashley's Magic (Rotted) Carpet Ride and that levered soaked log. Amaze. Nasty work but you must feel like a huge weight has been lifted off your property.
I am so glad you are doing this. I live with someone who wants to find value in every little tiny bitty thing and I fight it all the time. The truth is we only use a small amount of what is actually in our homes. The rest just sits till that one in a million chance we use it.
Stick to your guns, Jason. Do a clean up, together, regularly, so it doesn't get out of hand. It can become a hoarders situation, quickly. When something comes in, something goes out.
It must feel great to have cleared out so much! That barn will be a great workshop and art studio! Very clever how you used leverage to lift the telephone pole and carpet!
Great job guys hard work! I love Ashley's magic carpet ride lol, And I love that you got that telephone Pole log up into the dumpster you rock Ashley 🏋️♂️
I am so impressed at all the work you are doing. You two are such workers! I admire you. It is so refreshing to see young people who have a great work ethnic.
Wow, you had a lot of leftovers!! I know that had to feel good to get rid of all of that junk. When we first moved here, the man who owned this place had a lot of junk on the property. We purchased a 14' utility trailer, loaded it up at least 5x and took all of that junk to the dump. But when we were finished, it sure did look nice. Good job you two!
Oh my gosh that pole was so heavy, I don’t see how you and Ashley got it in there! Good idea to use the wood to help get it in the dumpster, I was watching and straining trying to help lol! It’s really looking good!!! Xoxo 😘

Love watching you two work together. You show what a marriage should be like and that you enjoy working together. Inspiration.
You two are the hardest working couple, and you do it so well together! It’s a testament to your relationship!
Ashley you just proved that one can ride on a carpet.
haha, we did it at our last property also!: th-cam.com/video/cuhO3sujmZc/w-d-xo.html
You two are the hardest working couple I’ve seen in a long time. I love how you work together as a team.

Major accomplishment! What a relief it must be to clean up, and clear out. Hands to work, hearts to God!
Even your dumpster is neat and tidy with no wasted spaces! I bet they commented when they put the tarp on to haul it away!
This is by far the best renovation project I have seen. You are including all aspects which is so helpful for people who are considering a similar move. Your work ethic is so admirable and you are so right about cleanliness and organization, it's not the pretty side of renovation but it is essential for a successful project.
Doug just invented a new Olympic Sport!!! Dumpster Trampoline! 😂😎
haha, just watch out for the nails and glass :/
Scratch that... ASHLEY invented the new sport!!! Tractor Carpet Log Riding!!!🏆😱
The pole transfer was brilliant! When it dropped into the bin, I realized I was holding my breath. Great work`
I love to see old properties brought back to life.
Awesome seeing you youngins utilizing your heads and not your backs on moving it all...Work smart not hard and save those backs!
You guys are some hard workers. Never get tired of seeing your projects!
she gets 50 extra cool points for riding that nasty rug ! I respect her for that.
Now that is a Good woman that helped her husband put that log in the dumpster. I was like that too when I was married.
You two are rock stars! If there is one thing that is very satisfying to watch is cleaning up big messes and that was very satisfying. Great job! You even pack a dumpster neatly 😉👍🏼 awesome clean up. Giggled at the Magic Carpet ride 😆
Ashley you are small but mighty!! There's nothing that seems to hold you back!! Great work guys!!
LOL Ashley gave meaning to the word Magic Carpet Ride! The place is looking really good guys. I look forward to all your new vids and get alerts! So proud of everything you two have accomplished and in only a few months too! Both of you are very hard workers!
Morning coffee and a dose of OITC.
The dynamic Duo strikes again.
Good job you two.
You are a genius with lifting the poll. Spectacular!
I have never seen two people work as hard as you two. And Ashley is so tiny, and works so hard.
Both of you are so good. I watch a few homestead channels and you both have to be the most humble, hard working pair. One of my favorite channels. I wish you the best xx
What a disgusting mess you've had to clean up🥺
I held my breathe when you were battling the log to get it in the dumpster. Ashley is so small and Doug you are one strong guy!

I don't care what you to are doing around your place, it's always interesting, and enjoyable to watch! I admire you two.
Both of you should be wearing masks so as not to inhale all of that crap. I didn't when doing the same job, and I paid with my health.

I’m holding my breath watching you two push that log up and over into the dumpster. You have to be very strong to do that.
You two are amazing! That telephone pole in the dumpster was something
It's a great feeling getting rid of the old stuff.

Phew! Rolled carpet in the field, 2 sandals under the old chicken coop. Could have been sketchy! Well done you two.
Yea, weird stuff happening here, haha
Great job! You both set a good example for your children.😊
I think you got that log up so readily because of all the viewers who were physically clenching their muscles as you pushed 🤣 and I loved Ashleigh hitching a ride on the carpet.
I know I was, LOL!
That has to be it. My shoulders are kind of sore now.

Nothing better than a big dumpster and throwing stuff out.💪🏻
I wish I could have come over to help...you both have helped others...and nothing feels as good as watching another goal checked off your list...
I was grunting with you and trying to help you push the old telephone pole into the dumpster. Glad that is done. Great job folks.

Wow! You two really turned it up to beast mode getting that pole in the dumpster!! I probably would’ve just left it like the previous owners 😂Great job!
Excellent use of levers. You guys are such fun to watch. Kudos to Ashley who manages to move a lot of weight with her 100 or so pounds!

Oops, I added the same comment about the magic carpet ride😁😁😁😁😁
One of the great mysteries is why that carpet was out there. Super weird! We do have our own show, right here :) Thanks!
@@diyfferent I'm sure they were thinking just put it out there and it would rot. Not knowing plastics etc take many years to decay.
Thumbs up for seeing the potential of this much neglected property.
It’s weird, even I feel better now! That was so satisfying to watch. You guys really do impress me. You are perfect soulmates ❤️💪🏼 God bless you

It feels so liberating to rid oneself of all that trash. Good job.

Wow! That telephone pole move was epic 🧐😀👌👍👏👏👏👏👏😍
😂 😂 Speed bumps, you are getting there 👍
You never cease to amaze me ! God bless you all.
You guys are really making great progress. Really enjoy watching you get your farm fixed. Thanks for sharing.
I bet it feels soo good to get rid of all that junk and clutter.
It must feel great to have cleared out so much! That barn will be a great workshop and art studio! Very clever how you used leverage to lift the telephone pole and carpet!
Impress with the two of you getting that pole in the dumpster.
You two have the energy of 20 people. Great job on the clean up.
Wow I can't believe people left all that mess. That was a lot of work. I hope you don;t get sick breathing all that in.
Anyone else helping them push that log into the dumpster? That was heavy!
Bless your hearts. You are both such hard workers.
Getting that pole into the dumpster was a brilliant engineering move. You guys continuously amaze me.
Thanks!
Great job guys hard work! I love Ashley's magic carpet ride lol, And I love that you got that telephone Pole log up into the dumpster you rock Ashley 🏋️♂️

I was rooting for you Doug , when you guys were lifting the pole ! Man , that's hard stuff, and you did it!
Oh my gosh that pole was so heavy, I don’t see how you and Ashley got it in there! Good idea to use the wood to help get it in the dumpster, I was watching and straining trying to help lol! It’s really looking good!!! Xoxo 😘
Seeing your property reminded me.
If you figure where you want your garden for next year(sunny spot fairly flat,)
Cut grass short, till then cover with weed mat.
So next year you can cut rows about 2ft. wide then plant in those areas leave remaing weed mat for ground covered aisles. Then you'd be ready to plant potatoes, onions, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, peas as these are cold weather crops.
