The iceologer is the second of three mobs to vote from during this years mob vote for minecraft live. Check out these ideas for how it could work. More variations of mobs has been a dream of mine for a while, as it could expand the world with unique and interesting mobs and animals. What do you think? I mean, if we could get some ice-related enchantments alongside the Iceologer, I would totally vote for it. But sadly, I don't think thats going to happen.
Here are some examples of the enchantments of what I'm talking about:
- Ice Aspect : Freezes targets (Max level : 2) (Sword enchantment) (Incompatible with : Fire Aspect)
- Frost : Arrows
freeze targets (Max level : 2) (Bow enchantment) (Incompatible with : Flame)
And now for a final enchantment, Elemental Protection, that would replace Fire Protection. It has the same effect, but now encompasses all types of "elemental" damage, in this case fire, ice and maybe lightning.

I mean, if everytime we get a new element, we have to create a new resistance enchantment counter it, after a while we would have something like 5 enchanments with the same purpose, some too occasional to be considered good.

@@mrbruh7071 since it doesn't glow there's one problem with it. If you don't have night vision, the glow squid will look exactly just like the normal squid. You might say then we could just look out of the water or something but that also doesn't work since the squid is gonna spawn quite deep in. It's also rare. Plus, several days after it's been released, I can guarantee you barely anyone remembers it.

Wish the iceologer won.The moo bloom would’ve been better than the squid because it would’ve had a unique interaction with bees. The squid adds nothing that can’t be added with a resource pack. I think the iceologer would’ve been the best because it added the most to the game. It’s a new hostile mob that has its very own type of attack. And it wouldn’t have been as annoying as the phantom because it would only be on mountains

I don’t think, if there was any problem with the iceologer, that it would be nearly as bad as the phantom turned out. The problem with the phantom was that it could attack you anywhere, any biome, and it forced you to do something (sleeping) in a game with no rules. The iceologer is just a normal hostile mob, from one or two biomes, that you would encounter.

I feel like if they did add the "iceologer" then they should add 2 new enchantments for the bow and sword. I think that you can choose between fire aspect or (new enchantment) that freezes people or something and same for the bow. I think it would make the game more intersting.

Phantoms are annoying because the punish you for not skipping the night and you can't really escape from them, but the iceologer would be just like any other hostile mob except it has a cool unique attack plus mountains are getting updated so it would make sense to add a new hostile mob to make it more dangerous.

Also the glow squid fits perfectly well! I'd say the iceologer fits way less. There is magic in Minecraft but not to the extent of elemental magic, just SoUl magic.

If there is a snowy plains update announced, Mojang will realize that hundreds of people will put iceoleger/chillager in the feedback website. It will very get added in a snowy plains update. With its own structure rather than take over the biome. The mountains almost got taken over by the chillager/iceoleger. Also with its own structure, we might get an ice wand. They never mentioned an ice wand in the 2020 mob vote. Would you think that stuff is better than the chillager taking over the mountains?

The Iceologer should only give you one effect, which I think should be called the Blizzard effect (They should also add snowstorms to the mountains as another way to give this effect), which slows you down, limits your vision with fog, and deals damage slowly (Unlike the frostbite effect which is way too quick)(We don't want it to be too hard to get the secret advancement)
They should also only spawn in structures (like logcabins or similar) in the mountains, in the same way that witches do in their swamp huts, so if there is no Iceologer in the structure, then the game will attempt to spawn a new one. This way you don't have to worry about them as much.
Of course, if they spawn like witches do, then this means you could farm them pretty easily, so perhaps have them drop something not as OP as ice wands. (I saw someone suggest they drop icicles - I suggested to them using blue stained glass and End rods for a build hack)

Having the Ice Wand off the bat from the iceologer is a bit too OP.
The Ice wand should be an item that can be used like any weapon and have it's own durability. And if it were to be obtained from the iceologer, it should either be in the form of a crafting material that can be used to make the ice wand or it can also drop the ice wand but the chances would be really low and the weapon would have low durability just like drowned and their tridents.
