I was enrolled in a Karate class when these came out...I was Fastenated! I'd come home from school, watch Get Smart, Wild Wild West---Then, Green Hornet. Something strange began to happen; I somehow picked up on Lee's skills, and techniques. I began to best guys who had a higher belt ranking than me. True story. Ahh, those were fun days.
@@ardiris2715 Well true, but it was an auto dialing phone that used punch cards... he also owned two cars that could be hung upside down without the crank case oil leaking out the carburetor. Lol
I know van Williams had more lines and was paid the most money and very humbled provided the leadership to Greenway productions and William dozier that Bruce Lee was the clear cut superstar of the green hornet TV series!
Van Williams and Bruce Lee became very close friends during the Green Hornet--Mr. Williams realized very early on that Mr. Lee was the true reason viewers tuned in every week and as such pressured the writers to give Mr. Lee a much larger role in the show than just being his "sidekick"
Wish the series had lasted just a little longer, Van and Wende were a "super couple" waiting to happen and what can you say about super Bruce Lee, a piece of my 60s childhood that I will never forget...
The actor playing Peter Eden seems to be having a lovely time sleezing it up and playing the swarmy doucebag, bless his heart. I hope he enjoyed himself. He's fun to watch, with that fake cigarette. One of my fav episodes.
I thought it was Green Hornet was the detective and gadget guy and Kaito was the marital arts. But the Green Hornet had some good moves, had that shoulder throw and takedown
My remembrance of watching the green hornet TV series in the late sixties on wgn TV channel 9 here in Chicago! I was either 4 or 5 yrs old Stephen b magee
A lot of Chrysler autos in this series. It was common back then to put a mention in the end credits such as "Automobiles furnished by Chrysler Corporation," but they didn't do that with this series. Even the Black Beauty was a tricked out 1965 Chrysler Imperial Crown. Odd.
Bruce Lee introduced Kung Fu to the American audience on TV. Before Lee it was all Karate and Judo. After Lee, it was Kung Fu and Aikido and other styles of Martial Arts that got popular.
When lady shouted out "Look its the Green Hornet, what has he done to that girl???" I felt a deep sadness as thought to myself she would not be saying that If this was Gotham City and Batman (Adam West) and Robin (Burt Ward) were standing over her!!!!
I saw this when I was a kid, thank you for the wonderful memories, also, considering how snippy wende wagner was to scott Brady in destination inner space, I'm surprised she didn't pull a gun on him 😊, anyway, thanks for posting and God bless you.
Also I believe that her and brit Reid would of been an excellent couple destined for marriage in the green hornet TV series, if the series had lasted another 3yrs Stephen b magee
It might be interesting for a university film class to take every line and scene of every Green Hornet 1966/67 TV show; analyze it and put it together into a perfect 3 hour Green Hornet movie. You could have the DA say 'yes, we got this guy but he was working for someone else' - leading to the next takedown and finally the "big boss." Remove the filler scenes, add a little more Kato and character development by using lines from other segments while the back of the speaking character is shown. Remaster that and put it on the big screen!
The tv show lasted from 1966-1967 came the same time like Batman and Robin both eventually fought against each never known both were crime fighters. The Green Hornets car Black Beauty and Batman Batmobile.
@ZoneFighter1 Cesar Romero was the consummate professional-Adam West has said that Mr. Romero would literally be snoring in his chair between scenes--when he was called for a scene he would wake up do his scene (no mistakes/perfect acting for that particular segment) and then go back and sit in his chair and sleep again
@ZoneFighter1 that conversation didn't start off politely. the Green hornet was rude at first and Batman responded rudely as well. Kato's one line was at least nice.
The scene where the young lady is thrown out of a car is especially effective when the woman screams out "It's The Green Hornet, what has he done to that girl" is effective in that the Hornet is feared by the general public.
They needed to write Bruce Lee' character, Kato in into the show more. Wasted his acting skills. Different time back in the 60'. Wasn't a stereotype. Didn't know what to do with Bruce, at that point in time. Action scenes were out of this world for the 60'. Loved this show even as a little kid, so much edgier and darkly realistic compared to Batman. The bad guys were more realistic.
Fred and Patty Chandler The 1970s TV show, "Kung Fu", was Bruce Lee's idea. Although the show was developed by Lee, network executives refused to cast Lee in the lead role and chose David Carradine instead. After that rejection, Lee returned to China to begin his film career. As Van Williams observed, "The Green Hornet" would have been better as an hour show. Whether Lee would have gotten more lines is debatable. ABC rejected him for "Kung Fu" simply because of his accent. It was a silly decision even though the show was successful with Carradine.
Guy Williams insisted that Bruce appear in most scenes involving The Green Hornet, according to Wikipedia. He felt that Kato(Bruce Lee)was very important to The Green Hornet, so he got the writers to place Bruce in more scenes in the show.
the first clue that something was amiss after they’d heard the tape should’ve been that miss case rang the doorbell. i rather doubt if she’d do that under normal conditions. where on earth did they come up with names like harvey wix (wick[e]s?), george foster matson, and hamilton bartlett? just pull them out of thin air?
He has good character, just like Blue Beetle (in the movie) never wants to cause harm. Had a shower thought, and wondered if there was such thing as a Green Hornet, as we have a Black Panther and a Blue Beetle, and apparently, the Green Hornet franchise has been out since the 1930s.
Hell Bruce should have got more combine time with black beauty . Action on the road. Only time the car hits the road is at night . Up against a big armoured truck . The one cool thing other than the car , is the garage music . But hey Kato is all cool. The way he can drive an keep an i on the hornet . Cause he is a body guard . Pop an i watched it an you know how people pick on stuff , how does oil an fluids stay down on both cars when flipped . But we know you get it , or don't. Cool son. They did some cutting on part one an two. Brakes . Hornet kills a girl.
This show should of ran another 3 yrs it was more mature and serious compared to batman This 2 part episode beautiful dreamer was the best episodes, and the other 24 episodes was uplifting entertaining and deserves an a+ Stephen b magee
"It's the Green Hornet. What has he done with that girl?" Lady, you saw the other car from where the girl was thrown from. Green Hornet just came after and was checking on the girl. NPC Lady: Green Hornet bad man.
When that girl blamed green hornet I was like how stupid she was I mean everyone saw the other care before green hornet so like bro wtf people blame who ever they want these days
think about it, there might be some younger person in this series that can say they got their plate handed to them by the legend himself, Bruce Lee, i looked up a lot of the actors and many had died in their 90's
How great is that? The fact that for us fans born long after Bruce's passing, we discover an entire friggin tv series with Bruce Lee! What a treasure and what were the odds, feeling so cheated out of more of Bruce's work goingforward, we at least have the privilege of seeking more of this guy's work by going backwards -- and what a treasure trove these episodes are!
The Green Hornet was better than Batman it was more real then Batman and the Green Hornet series should been longer then Batman should been on and TV producers made real biggest mistake that they should choose Batman over the Green Hornet and I know everybody that had seen the Green Hornet and Batman would and now right to this day would agree with a 100 percent The Green Hornet was and still is the show Hand on to Van William, Bruce Lee and Wendy Wagner y'all was it and RIP.
@ZoneFighter1 --- Yeah, and they all lived 100 years ago. Times change. Change with them or become extinct. Like the dinosaurs. It's women that will save the human race and make it progress.
Kato drove that car real fast ! Enjoy this show so much!

True story. Ahh, those were fun days.
Congrats the black cobra. Me enter the dragon .
I can complete feel how that would happened. I'm reading these comments to feel how it was to be a teen when this was on tv.
This show was cutting edge for it's time, the Green Hornet not only had a drone, but a telephone answering machine as well.
Not an answering machine, just a recorder. You could buy a mic on a suction cup from the back covers of comic books.
@@ardiris2715 Well true, but it was an auto dialing phone that used punch cards... he also owned two cars that could be hung upside down without the crank case oil leaking out the carburetor. Lol
Thanks for uploading. Watching from European Union, Lithuania.

@11:39 a 1964 Chrysler Imperial four door sedan. Beautiful. :)
They still drive like shit ... like all US cars from that time.
Wish the series had lasted just a little longer, Van and Wende were a "super couple" waiting to happen and what can you say about super Bruce Lee, a piece of my 60s childhood that I will never forget...
Hell yeah the green hornet and kato!!!
Excellent ☺
William Dozier was a genius! He did both the green hornet, and batman! How many would think of that?
The actor playing Peter Eden seems to be having a lovely time sleezing it up and playing the swarmy doucebag, bless his heart. I hope he enjoyed himself. He's fun to watch, with that fake cigarette. One of my fav episodes.
LORD JESUS CHRIST THANK YOU.
Thanks for sharing this video
I still Like watching this show.

Great episode
Excellent episode!
I thought it was Green Hornet was the detective and gadget guy and Kaito was the marital arts. But the Green Hornet had some good moves, had that shoulder throw and takedown
Stunt double??
Absolutely. The Green Hornet had some nice short power punches.
My remembrance of watching the green hornet TV series in the late sixties on wgn TV channel 9 here in Chicago! I was either 4 or 5 yrs old Stephen b magee
Wow, I remember having seen the car as a toy car. Never new it was from a TV series. We didn't have it here.
That's terrible , you have some catching up to do.

Green hornet and beaufuil dreamer Bert reed is my favorite handsome guy and lots of goosebumps
Van Williams character on the show is named Britt Reid, not Bert reed.
Bruce Lee introduced Kung Fu to the American audience on TV. Before Lee it was all Karate and Judo.
After Lee, it was Kung Fu and Aikido and other styles of Martial Arts that got popular.
super!!
harrie nihotp
Beautiful dreamer both episodes are an a + as well!
The Green Hornet is speeding through Mayberry!
When lady shouted out "Look its the Green Hornet, what has he done to that girl???" I felt a deep sadness as thought to myself she would not be saying that If this was Gotham City and Batman (Adam West) and Robin (Burt Ward) were standing over her!!!!
THAT BECAUSE THE GREEN HORNET IS A REAL CRIME FIGHTER NOT NO CLOWN LIKE BATMAN AND ROBIN THE GREEN HORNET AND KATO ARE THE REAL DEAL 👊
This issue was covered in the crossover.
I saw this when I was a kid, thank you for the wonderful memories, also, considering how snippy wende wagner was to scott Brady in destination inner space, I'm surprised she didn't pull a gun on him 😊, anyway, thanks for posting and God bless you.
"This machine records all my calls."
How innovative....
We should all have those.... 😂 😂 😂
Wende Wagner was an attractive lady and a great actress!

The tv show lasted from 1966-1967 came the same time like Batman and Robin both eventually fought against each never known both were crime fighters. The Green Hornets car Black Beauty and Batman Batmobile.
Batman was played more as a "campy"/humorous show as compared to the Green Hornet which was more dramatic/serious tone--
@ZoneFighter1 Cesar Romero was the consummate professional-Adam West has said that Mr. Romero would literally be snoring in his chair between scenes--when he was called for a scene he would wake up do his scene (no mistakes/perfect acting for that particular segment) and then go back and sit in his chair and sleep again

Fred and Patty Chandler "Batman" was a spoof or satire of superheroes.
"The Green Hornet" was not.
+Tony Williams
Well said! Too bad the latest Hornet film with Rogen didn't do this character justice. Hopefully it will in the future.
Guy Williams insisted that Bruce appear in most scenes involving The Green Hornet, according to Wikipedia. He felt that Kato(Bruce Lee)was very important to The Green Hornet, so he got the writers to place Bruce in more scenes in the show.
Cool! So Guy was the one who saw what no one else saw in Bruce.
the first clue that something was amiss after they’d heard the tape should’ve been that miss case rang the doorbell. i rather doubt if she’d do that under normal conditions.
where on earth did they come up with names like harvey wix (wick[e]s?), george foster matson, and hamilton bartlett? just pull them out of thin air?
Probably 🤣
On the cast it should say Van Williams as Britt Reid/The Green Hornet it just said as The green Hornet
Van Williams was an amazing excellent actor and played Brit Reid alas green hornet to the perfect utmost! Stephen b magee
The Green hornet has alot of humility
He has good character, just like Blue Beetle (in the movie) never wants to cause harm. Had a shower thought, and wondered if there was such thing as a Green Hornet, as we have a Black Panther and a Blue Beetle, and apparently, the Green Hornet franchise has been out since the 1930s.

Kato is wearing two different masks
There's a naivete in Reed
Fox!
"It's the Green Hornet. What has he done with that girl?" Lady, you saw the other car from where the girl was thrown from. Green Hornet just came after and was checking on the girl. NPC Lady: Green Hornet bad man.
The women that was on this series were very beautiful ❤️🌹.

Is it his first movie?
knarf fragu "The Green Hornet" was Bruce Lee's first American film or TV appearance.

Like those old bias tires sqeek
When that girl blamed green hornet I was like how stupid she was I mean everyone saw the other care before green hornet so like bro wtf people blame who ever they want these days
2 guys with guns and they get overpowered in a blink of an eye by the Green Hornet and Kato. Lol only on TV
think about it, there might be some younger person in this series that can say they got their plate handed to them by the legend himself, Bruce Lee,
i looked up a lot of the actors and many had died in their 90's
How great is that? The fact that for us fans born long after Bruce's passing, we discover an entire friggin tv series with Bruce Lee! Bruce Lee is driving a f--g CAR!!!!!?????
Yes. He's Kato, man!
i got you
If done today, Eden would be played by Cillian Murphy.
Van didn't have any hate/ jealousy towards the cast of the green hornet series especially towards Bruce lee!
No MERCY FOR FANI WILLIS
👊
Man I can drive that car well
An arrogant rich woman named Ms Vain? I will admit Peter Eden was one of the smarter villans to face them and came close to blowing them both up.
Love this show, only thing that gets on my nerves is that clown reporter Mike.
Bruce Wende Walter and Lloyd should of had more speaking parts/ lines, especially Bruce! Stephen b magee
If I had that technology I would program all the women to enjoy staying home and being wives and mothers again.
MGTOW Bro why set times back to far
MGTOW Bro Ya. Why?
@ZoneFighter1 --- Yeah, and they all lived 100 years ago. Times change. Change with them or become extinct. Like the dinosaurs. It's women that will save the human race and make it progress.
@ZoneFighter1 --- Well, I'm sorry you feel that way. You're going to miss the best part of the show.
Beginning a preposition with a sentence is not something a credible journalist would tolerate.
This show needs a Johnny come lately.
Bruce hair to short ...
Not as campy as Batman, too many scenes shot at night, mediocre scripts.
