Regarding hormonal contraception and health risks/behavioral changes, I recommend This is Your Brain on Birth Control: How the Pill Changes Everything by Sarah Hill. While I find her personal views far too optimistic, she is rigorous in outlining the scientific evidence with objectivity.
For a book that teaches women about their natural cycles, I recommend The Fifth Vital Sign by Lisa Hendrickson-Jack.

I think it would be useful if the abortion debate moved towards how to lower abortion rates while making it available (I'm not sure to what week). In an ideal world abortions would obviously be few and far between.
I think then the focus would be on supporting women to know their own reproduction and bodies better. Know what an abortion entails etc.
I just think if both sides focused on combining fewer abortions and better young motherhood then the focus would logically be on women and mothers and having more open discussion and explanation.
Unfortunately motherhood, womanhood, biological realities, s** differences are clearly under massive attack.
I really dislike the pro-p***, pro-prostitution and claiming hook up culture is in some way good for women. It certainly doesn't serve women and arguably is awful for most men too.

Yes a vasectomy is invasive. Of course it fucking is. If anyone has had a non-invasive vasectomy then they have been scammed. What exactly do you think is occurring down there?
Try thinking for more than 4 seconds. This is a ludicrous idea particularly given my comment. You clearly haven't given this issue any thought at all if your "solution" to the abortion issue is to persuade men to get the snip. Come back when you've thought about it a bit more. Try reading my comment first for example because your reply to it is practically unrelated.

I think the pill would increase your likeliness to want to bond with someone since it mimics pregnancy hormones and during pregnancy and after birth is when women seem most driven towards pair bonding.

My sense is that even if you grant Mary Lou the idea that the Democrats are attacking the First Amendment (and that means "everything is at stake"), it doesn't make sense to support the guy who has also perpetrated acts against the First Amendment AND attempted to disenfranchise more than half of the country on an ego trip.

@@meghanemilymurphy Trump has a history of threatening journalists who report on him and celebrating when harm befalls them. He believes the US government should imprison people who set fire to the flag (protected speech) and should deport student protesters (protected speech). I'm sure I could find more examples if you'd like.
As to the disenfranchisement of half the country, after he knowingly lost the 2020 election, he made personal phone calls to State officials in attempts to "find votes" that weren't there. The state officials, who were Trump supporters, have testified to this under oath and recognized that it was inappropriate. His office was subsequently involved in attempting to run alternate slates of electors, in states that he knew that he lost, to cast votes for him to overturn the legitimate results. He then personally asked VP Pence to refuse to certify the election results in a probable attempt to overthrow the legitimate vote. Finally, he negligently stood by for hours as protesters that he encouraged to go to the Capitol delayed the certification by breaking into the Capitol.

@@meghanemilymurphy To start, Trump proposed a complete Muslim travel ban prior to his win in 2016. That is at odds with the protections of religion in the first amendment. Once inaugurated, he faced backlash but ordered a ban on travel to the US from some Muslim nations. Along with this previous statements, this was interpreted as a violation of 1A.
In his campaigning for the 2024 election, Trump has expressed his desire to imprison journalists (in violation of 1A and some cases of source protection laws). He has said we should imprison people for burning the US flag (which is protected as speech by 1A). He has expressed that student protesters should be deported (protest is protected by 1A). The big on, of course is his declaration that he would "be a dictator on day one" (whatever that means). This is presumably a suspension of all rights of Americans as a dictatorship is at odds with our Constitution. One might dismiss all of these statements as "big talk" if not for the proof (in the Muslim ban) that he's willing to try to suspend rights.
As for the disenfranchisement of half the country, that is related to his attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. He was involved, either directly or by proxy, in at least four separate efforts to override the election that he knew he lost. First, he called State officials in at least two states (GA and AZ) to "find votes" that he knew didn't exist. Next, was the attempt to send alternate slates of electors (in States known to be lost) to vote for him or at least cause confusion and potentially invalidate the proper slate of electors. This is voter fraud. When that didn't work, he personally appealed to Mike Pence to refuse to certify the results of the election (either to allow the alternate slates of electors or sow enough confusion to require an election by Congress, which is what happens when no candidate receives enough electors). Finally, after all of that didn't work, he negligently stood by as a group of people he encouraged to march to the Capitol, broke into the Capitol and delayed the certification vote by hours. That they eventually left when he told them to suggests he could have made a similar statement much earlier and allowed the certification to proceed.
Sorry for the wall of text. I tried to be as brief as possible while including the relevant actions of Trump that I based my previous statement on.

It sounds like Meghan is becoming more mature. She is often hindered by her "cool girl" act. One day, she might not even desire male attention so much and find that freeing. We waste so much of our lives longing for romance. And, by the way, attractive women can be desperate for attention. Desiring men's attention cuts across many demographics. I have never been that way too much, but notice it all the time.

@35:38 The thing that I don't get is that even if you did like him and wanted to have sex, we both know that he probably won't respect you after that, and if you aren't naive then you know you have to withhold to make that happen. Why does it seem that there is nothing gross and abusive about that to most people? IE she "doesn't respect herself" (which I don't even believe) but isn't climbing on top of herself, and a guy who takes advantage of that is off the hook...
