A great cheap Lego one piece set at the 20-30 dollar price point would be a Zoro vs Mihawk. This set would be a money farm, with 2 fan favorite characters, and maybe even a side build of Mihawks little coffin ship and a piece of shipwreck to fight on. One of the most iconic series moments this would be a hit.
I am super excited about this. I saw the Netflix show before ever seeing the anime. I loved it so much that I went back and watched the entire anime series (took me almost a year, but worth it!). I have no space in my house for more LEGO, but I'll get it anyway.
I'd want to mention, that One Piece's Manga, Shonen- is specifically for teenage boys. The English Anime, just suffered from censorship, especially when it first came out to skew it to a younger audience
Been a fan of the manga since 2003, it's a bit of a shame it's based on the live action, Luffys smile is iconic and as good as Inaki is his smile in the live action is just not the same That being said, I'll take it!
The live action version is a wise chose as a lot of One Piece characters have wacky proportions that always made me doubt we would ever get a LEGO series.
I'd never heard of 'Onepiece' until this video and I don't have Netflix. For a moment though I thought 'Lego Onepiece' sounded like potentially the most boring Lego set ever 😂
We still haven't seen how they are going to look. Last time Lego did any anime style figures (and I mean with the anime faces and all. Not their usual faces they use in monkey kid or Ninjago or so on)was back in 2005-2007 and didn't go too well back then. Avatar the last Airbender getting beaten by SpongeBob and little numbers of those sets actually selling (was a no brainer which would win in a fight for the shelf life), and then exo force which they did a bit of a better job but still it didn't do too well back when it originally came out and went away fast. The major thing is: don't put all your eggs into one basket and just wait and see what they look like first BEFORE casting judgment. As for dragon ball z and Pokemon. Yeah other brick building toy companies have licenses for those. So Lego can't do diddly squat with them until the rights expire which is a more than likely never depending on how things are done.
I’m surprised speed racer didn’t already do that heck! There was even an ORIGINAL lego theme that was anime-inspired and yet THAT didn’t pave the way for lego anime didn’t even make a friggin tv show off the product!
I'm not into manga or anime, but I gave the Netflix One Piece series a chance and I enjoyed it. As for the Lego theme; I don't think I have an interest in any of the sets 'out of the box' so to speak, but I do expect there will be very usable elements in them for me. So I'm curious to see more.
I really hope the Luffy minifigure is made of rubber like a tiny stretch armstrong. And maybe they could have a head for Zorro with an open mouth so you could slot a sword between his teeth.
If that's your hope, you're very likely going to be disappointed. I think him having long tubes with hands - much like that one minion from the Despicable Me house - is the best you're going to get in that regard. But we'll see.
The thing I'm concerned about,Netlfix ruined Bleach (anime nit the product) and Death Note and utterly ruined the all time anime classic:Cowboy Bepop. 😭 I couldn't believe what they did with it. So this One Piece as a Netlfix is skeptical (no,I haven't seen it and nor do I want too) so this Lego set better be 100% spot on or else fans are gunna riot.
Let me quickly say this much; The Netflix One Piece series feels a bit rushed due to the amount of episodes given, HOWEVER it is a great watch. Really, the only life-action show I was able to enjoy in literal years.
i feel like adults who say one piece is 11+ rated, and mostly for all ages, only watched the first 10 or so episodes/ read the first few chapters. one piece gets incredibly dark at points, tackling directly (not just hinting at) themes of slavery and colonialism, among other things. it also gets weirdly violent at points and there’s a reason the anime is a 15 in the UK. the live action mostly just brings the first saga of the manga/ anime (east blue) to the demographic and vibe that the series has post skypeia (it’s third saga).
Wait... your goal to build your brand is to trash one of the best creators? Do better. Like, I get trying to be cheeky, but why woudl I listen to you trash an IP/creator. Can we expect the same thing with Star Wars? I have been reading this for over twenety years, truthfully the world would be better if we were all like Oda. Disapointed.

it’s been leaked that there’s an 18+ set for this theme with 3400 pieces.

Zero knowledge on the subject matter, but I'm always a fan of getting more pirate parts and minifigures in LEGO, so I'm curious.

You should definitely try watching it, it's amazing
This is Pandora’s Box. The future of Lego is going to be wild going forward
Even if its basex on the live action im super excited for this because it opens the world of anime to lego imagine dragon ball and other huge series
Fr ❤
Other brick companies hold the ip rights to dragon ball and Pokemon so don’t expect them any time soon.

I might be getting that in the near future

Zoros 3 sword style's going to be easily solved with a neck piece in form of a sword going in front of his face.
I think the arms would easily snap when pulled if a minifigure was made entirely rubber
i think if the sets sell well we might get more of the bigger ships like baratie garp's ship and maybe shank's ship?
I'm hoping the 18+ set is based off the manga but probably not
But this doesn't answer the question, will be get a new Black Pearl??
Also that AI jumpscared me haha
Never heard of One Piece. Might be some nice moulds at least
How dare you put the Gray Man in your flop examples! That was descent! Lol
What if they make a Lego game for One Piece aswell
That would be amazing!!!
One piece what made from multiple pieces.
First Lego content creator in a long line who are gonna mispronounce the name Luffy.....
I mean, it's kinda hard not too tho, especially if you speak English
Hoping for MiniDolls
no really, I think they'd be a better match for anime style
I know it's the accent, but it pronounced Mon-Gah. Not Man-Gah. Thanks for the coverage.
Sad ww dont get the manga going merry shes much cuter! I cried when spoiler
She "died"

^^^ factual
regardless of what you think of the writing/directing/acting whatever, the aesthetic of the live show is really accurate to the manga so I'm confident

I *knew* someone was going to call me out on that 😂
@@brick_fanaticsi’m not calling you out, sorry it came across that way!
i was moreso addressing the statistic you used :)

Enough with the IP sets.
one piece show aged up....
... nami wears a T-shirt
does.... not.... compute...
