Great video and and amazing road - the autumn colours blurring by certainly help! Big kudos to MINI (and BMW) for persisting with the F54 Clubman, especially when it would have been much easier to write off the F54 and put all the effort into the Countryman (SUV) format. I have a manual F54 JCW (the previous model) and it does everything that is asked of it - cruises effortlessly on long interstate drives, gets down and parties with the hardcore 3 door MINIs during club drives on challenging mountain roads. It is the combination of the longer wheelbase, AWD and dynamic damper control that allows it switch personality on demand.
Vacationed in that area couple years back and a guy saw my 2012 base Mini Cooper and asked if I was there to drive the dragon and I had no idea what he was talking about. Now I get it haha and I think I actually did drive part of it too without knowing it
I am trying to get my head around feeling the shifts without a manual transmission. Is it really rewarding? I want the engine, but I want to have a manual. I know you can get performance upgrades. I don't want to go fast necessarily but want the HP to handle mountains, high elevation at a good speed.....also want the four wheel drive. DRATS!
how would you compare the 2020 countryman jcw with the x2 m35i? i need a bit of a ground clearance to get out of the car easier. my current car is a heavily moded 2012 countryman S
Now they had room for improvement... I will order the Countryman with 306bhp all4 in Germany and it’s only 0,2 seconds slower 0-60mph yes higher but I get the 19” rims with the adjustable suspension 😎 enjoy Your mini

It’s a different sensation but in manual and sport mode it’s unquestionably fun.
