The first cards I crafted were ash and Maxx c but after that I started doing archetype specific cards and soon regretted it when I wanted to switch up decks. Always do staples first
The ON chain in Master Duel is equivalent to the Legal Chain in YGO Omega. It's why Omega starts all the duels with Legal Chain instead of Auto Chain. All the fan made sims had No Chain, Auto, and All Chain. Edopro doesn't have ON / Legal chain which is why many pro players miss timing since they play on Auto. The All chain would ask you even if you didn't have a response to make your opponent think that you do for bluffing. In MD, this is missing, so every delay is 100% guaranteed that your opponent has a response. This is made more obvious by that light on the field that switches to indicate priority. The proper way to toggle your chains in Master Duel is to change your configuration to Hold 1. This means holding left click will toggle ON and holding right click will toggle OFF. This chain system was derived from Yugioh Online, the game before ygopro.
Edopro do have on setting, it's "always chain" toogle, but it always trigger even when u don't have any card that can interact which means use it for bluffing

With it on automatic if my opponent enters the battle phase i will only get a prompt to use face up small dragonmaid effects otherwise it will immediately skip to my opponent's attack step. This matter because even if I have no current monster on the field if I had the "On" toggled instead I would be allowed to use cards and effects that could put any of the smaller dragonmaids onto the field before my opponent's attack step. This allows them to tag out into their big forms giving me a net positive in advantage. Not sure if I'm the only one that wants this, but I really hope they add a "zoom in option" to inspect the artwork on cards. Sometimes, people don't know what they're looking at or miss some nice details. So the work that goes into them ends up being wasted. It's definitely doable.
Hold 1 is the answer to comp duels. Auto says in the description that is a timing window set to cards (both players), Hold 1 means you have a manual activation as well as this. So it covers all other timings. This is the first thing I did when I started the game due to its importance.
I was gna say exactly this, so you get the benefits of both auto and on with the annoyance of the game prompting you every single window of opportunity to activate a card.
Man setting it to On made a huge ass difference. Literally lost me games cause of that. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't activate my trap cards during their draw or standby phases, forcing me to to use my trap cards at awkward times after they do a thing. Think that was a thing for edopro, but it was better for ygo omega.
My pulls have been crazy.2 borrelswords and accesscode talker first day with zero dollars being spent. Just focus on secret packs and what cards/packs you want to build.
or... people should spend their money however they want? Like I make plenty of money and i used to buy physical cards even thought i didn't really play the game. But just today I was like i'm not gonna spend 60 bucks buying 3 Small Worlds for my madolche deck. And spent those 60 bucks making an Endymion deck on master duel. If you have the means and the money spend it however you want
My biggest mistake is not crafting handtraps first! I just got into Yugioh when Master Duel came out and I crafted all the cool looking cards first only to have semi-unplayable decks because I don't have proper handtraps or spell cards, etc!
my worst mistake was spending all my gems to made a deck of all fuzzy creatures (cuz why not) sangan, kuriboh, quillbolt hedghog, and blossom and its sisters intead of the staples, then i tried to make an invoked deck and realised what i had done
So I'm a ex duel links player and I never played actual yugioh so a video on what staples to craft would help greatly for someone like me with limited knowledge of the tcg and ocg thx love the content
i oughta tell you about running meta to beat meta. I was in platinum 2 with numeron god cards and numeron sacred beasts. it is definitely a go first and second deck. the deck does have a fair share of URs using lightning storm, maxx c, droplet, dark ruler no more, etc. it's also a 60 card deck but it's one of those rogue decks that has a promising amount of protection, negation, and non targeting, and destroying removal. some cards can even take care of monsters unnaffected by card effects. the meta may change, but the answers to them will always have a constant.
It was the last tip that helped me the most.im usually on your twitch streams so i knew the other tips from watching.i most have missed the response feature
I made the mistake of getting fascinated by the Lair of Darkness archetype. I went into the game KNOWING I was gonna build Dinos as my first deck. However I didn't know I could unlock secret packs by crafting a SR/UR from their cardpool. So while I was opening Dangers! (Kaijus) (I lucked out and got a card from the secret pack thanks to the Ash Blossom bundle) I got a card from the Lair of Darkness secret pack. I ended up getting 3 Darkest Diabolos in ONE 10 pack opening. Also got a couple of the field spell and of course I fell for their trap... After seeing I could tribute my opponent's monsters to use my own monster's effects I was sold. Completely forgot to focus on Dinos and started building Lair using crafting points etc... I _DID_ sort of use the points for some smarter cards like Terraforming and Armageddon Knight (Got prismatic) but I also used materials for stupid stuff like Lady of Lament and Dark Grepher. It got me to Silver pretty easily but the deck SUCKS at going second. I could improve it but I eventually got cards for Dinos and ended refocusing on it after I got a prismatic archosaur. Even with an incomplete version of the deck it's getting me to platinum and it LOVES going second so I'm kinda mad i still haven't even gotten Oviraptor...
The five mistakes I made right off was spending everything to make an Exodia deck, I didn't make any of the staple cards mentioned here, dismantled most of my UR and SR cards to get said Exodia deck, didn't buy the duel pass right away, and tried to build more than one deck once I found the Exodia deck no longer worked.
The only one I guess I did was the Auto and On one although that never came up to be impactful. My desktop had the option to flip between Auto and On but my laptop and phone didn't and I had to do some digging to find out how to fix it.
My mistake is making non staple cards, and just rushing to get my favorite deck, yeah handtraps are needed 1st. damn, also that auto/on button really is something i need to change, ty.

My 5 mistakes were wasting gems on random decks I ended up not even wanting, not understanding how link arrows worked, summoning knightmare monsters without having a hand, not building staples, and dusting instant fusion because who would need that. :)
As a former player on other emulators I already knew about the ON/Auto thing and I also managed my gems well enough to get myself a decent Sky Striker build in like 2 hours from the download and even before playing any ranked match. I felt kinda bad for the Bronze people using the starter deck against a fully built deck with handtraps and all but at least now I have a 14 wins streak on my way to Gold

Solemn Strike is spell speed 3 ( the max spell speed) there is no spell speed 4
1 normal spell
2 quick play spell/ normal trap
3 counter trap

2 not read the cards i dont know
3 craft cards that are not staple or core
4 craft a card then dismantle it by mistake

Imperm vs access code was huge

Meta is temporary but BURUE AIS CHAOSU MAXU DORAGON is eternal.
that's why I'm stuck at gold.
