My husband does work planting and picking cotton. I am here to tell ya he works for 13$ a hour and works 12 hours a day, seven days a week. He doesn't get paid over time because he works on a farm. I work as a cashier. I make 9$ a hour, 8 to 10 hours a day, 3 to 5 days a week. No savings because we live pay check to pay check. Our car is paid for, have had it for ten years. We don't own anything that is extra. We have never been on vacation in our 15 years together. We have two kids. Sometimes, we have to chose between a bill and food. Could we find bettet jobs. Maybe... but neither of us has above a high school diploma and not much in our town that offers higher paying jobs, and what is out there 30 people are going after that one job. With our stimulus we paid bills, and our car off. Just a insight on a cotton farmer hand and a cashiers life. We don't have savings, and we struggle, but we make it barely.
Thank you for sharing. Not everyone can have the higher paying jobs. There are only so many and then someone has to pick cotton, vegetables, etc. No overtime, no insurance, often times no breaks. Hard work that most people would not do. Thank you and your husband for your hard work to contribute to our corporate owned society.
The people who work hardest often earn the least, but society still tries to convince us that being poor is a result of not trying harder. I doubt any of the billionaires have done anything like the backbreaking cotton picking work to make their fortune. We need to start paying people properly for their labour, instead of the profits going higher up the chain. Thank you for sharing your story. For me, I'm homeless and just did a job interview for a custodian at a local gym with hours from 4 am to 10 am. You do what you can when you can. If you need to wake your ass up at yesterday o clock to get ready for work to go clean toilets for a living do that! The saying that resonates with me the most is this: today I will do what others won't so tomorrow I can do what others can't. NOT everyone wants that early morning job cleaning toilets and dirty ass showers. They always want that manager position that allows you to didactic what others do. You ain't gonna get that high end job til you bust your ass and earn it!

I would have been in much better shape to not only take care of my self but help others too. I have finally learned to live below my means and save more than spend. It really doesn't matter who is "in charge" Fuel prices can go either way no matter who. For us being a farm a few cents makes a lot of difference. In busy season we burn $10s of thousands a month. Work 12 to 20 (or more) hours a day 7 days a week in the summer. Working for dad till he can retire. $10 an hour, no overtime. House, electric, propane paid for. It's not alot but even with my wife being a Director of Nursing, we struggle. 4 kids, no savings, paycheck to paycheck. Have a few assets and land to inherit but it's taxed so much it's not really revenue inducing. We are comfortable and that's all I can ask for.

The other artists that started talking about this subject were vague, so the powers that be had no issues it seems. When you are more specific, like Ren they don't like that. I heard this a few years ago and it was a warning when it MG2 first aired on You Tube about 4 yrs ago. I have no proof but it came up again when CNN was dogging "hi ren" for putting the term suic!de in kids head so Ren was helping the young to commit the act. When lockdown happened, I lost my 25years full-time job in the tourist industry. I used my stimulus checks to pay the bills and food. Any extras went to the emergency savings. I'm not able to find a full-time job because unfortunately I've become very forgetful. I have a part-time job for 2 years now and my co-workers are beginning to notice my forgetfulness. I just need to hang on 4 more years to get early social security to help supplement my current income.
The work I was doing shut down nationwide for two years so the stimulus was not enough. My mom was in her late 80’sso I had to do her shopping and be cautious that when I came to see her I didn’t end up being the one bringing Covid into her home and be the one who made her sick.

What I see and experience is that many people are in a rough spot because too many jobs are part time and no insurance and THAT is a huge problem, especially for us older folks. 😢 The towers. You may have made similar money under each president - however one president gave $2.4 TRILLION in tax benefits which almost all went to the richest 50% of the country, creating a debt which the rest of the country is now needing to cover. One family benefited to the tune of I think it was £1 billion alone. Those people certainly did better under that president (not Obama) - and it has made the rest of the country poorer. One president enacted measures which made the lives of many of the poorest Americans worse off, mishandled a pandemic probably costing 10,000 at least needless avoidable early deaths, and destroyed international relations and encouraged Putin to invade Ukraine which then led to the spike in inflation making many Americans much worse off. While both parties in America are puppets for the mighty $, one is more extreme and panders more to the richest and has someone who says they will be a dictator if they are able to win again. The result in 2024 could be the end of democracy in America - so the choice does matter. Just because two things are bad, does not mean they are AS bad. America has allowed itself to be slaves to the $ - people scared to rock the boat in work because they live pay check to pay check (69% of Americans live that way apparently). That means the only ones with real power is not “we the people”, but “me the $”.

What I see and experience is that many people are in a rough spot because too many jobs are part time and no insurance and THAT is a huge problem, especially for us older folks. 😢 The towers. That’s a hot potato topic. I hear you. That’s all I’ll say on that. And hopefully Ren won’t need to worry about security although it does seem if you get on the wrong side of Trump you are looking at a face off with his lynch mob followers.

The person at the end who represents a position of political power could have been any president, prime minister, or dictator in history from any political group. You may have made similar money under each president - however one president gave $2.4 TRILLION in tax benefits which almost all went to the richest 50% of the country, creating a debt which the rest of the country is now needing to cover. One family benefited to the tune of I think it was £1 billion alone.
Those people certainly did better under that president (not Obama) - and it has made the rest of the country poorer.
One president enacted measures which made the lives of many of the poorest Americans worse off, mishandled a pandemic probably costing 10,000 at least needless avoidable early deaths, and destroyed international relations and encouraged Putin to invade Ukraine which then led to the spike in inflation making many Americans much worse off.
While both parties in America are puppets for the mighty $, one is more extreme and panders more to the richest and has someone who says they will be a dictator if they are able to win again.
The result in 2024 could be the end of democracy in America - so the choice does matter. Just because two things are bad, does not mean they are AS bad.
America has allowed itself to be slaves to the $ - people scared to rock the boat in work because they live pay check to pay check (69% of Americans live that way apparently). That means the only ones with real power is not “we the people”, but “me the $”.
