Would appreciate it if you could share us how much you paid for these bags. Probably it's hard to remember not unless u kept the receipts 😊. I'm not sure if it's u , but I think your first LV / designer bag was the LV speedy ?. It was my first also which I purchased in Paris in 2004, forgot the price😅. Proud of u and will be looking forward to Part 2 and etc...
We’re coming back to this era where minimal collection of handbags are in. Me too was guilty of over consuming. And for the past two years I haven’t bought any luxury bags but going to vacation instead. So proud of you Cindy for selling a lot of your handbags. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Now is the time to buy lmao. I sold a lot of my bags 2 years ago because prices got absurd and i knew they were gonna crash. Now I am enjoying scooping up the deals lmaooooo. But I dont buy just any bags, only special ones i know will hold or even increase in value
I’m glad you seem so at peace with letting go of the bags! I think it’s also helpful that you discussed the hassles of selling these because I always thought it was kind of irresponsible of some luxury TH-camrs talking about these bags as “investments” when really most people lose money when selling their bags. (Excluding people who source bags for other and certain special editions). Thank you so much for your transparency! I’ve always enjoyed your videos!
3, 4 years ago I downsized my collection around 40 to less than half. Omg. The losses I made on those bags was gut wrenching. I definitely lost at least $20k, from Hermes, LV, Chanel, Chloe, etc The 3 main resellers I used was FashionPhile, TRR and a local luxury consignment who also do cash buy outs. It was a hefty lesson learned.
IMO, buying a bag is like a marriage. A lifetime commitment. Choose wisely. Getting a replica or resale is the equivalent of a dress rehearsal for marriage or a committed relationship😅😅
I worked for a woman whose house was worth £3-4 million and guess what. Her bag is a *jklux* road worth £60. What did I learn from her. You don't have to have the real one, as long as it looks accurate and I have money in the bank. I used to buy genuine products until I realized I didn't need to waste my money
I like the minimal luxury approach. I have always bought my designer bags preloved because they’re like cars. Mostly lose at least 50% value once you walk out with it. And I have been able to resell those preloved (from reputable companies) bags for the same price I got them or insignificantly less than. Now I’m buying a vintage Chanel for HALF the price of a brand new one. Handbags are never investments but they’re cute and I like what I like lol
I love this! Keep going girl! I did the same thing a few years ago. Downsized my bags and I’m so happy. I did lose money on them but I didn’t want to have the hassle of any scams or problems with the sales. I figured I did get MY use out of them and I was happy for the time I did have them but it’s time to move on! No regrets! Now I’m extra, extra thoughtful of what I do put into my collection and it’s really got to knock my socks off to even be considered for my collection. Can’t wait to see the final results of your collection! Xox
I don't blame you. I did the same thing. It can get REALLY crazy and in reality you wind up using the same two bags. Less is more is my new thing. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for telling the prices of how much you sold them for! I was wondering if you would also be able to share how much you purchased each item for? That would also be really helpful to show if handbags are an investment or not for anyone looking to purchase their first bag or start their collection.
She lost on every single bag. Handbags are not an investment. If the same amt of money was invested in the S&P500 when she bought them she would have hundreds of thousands by now. Use any compound interest calculator online to see how much more you can make investing in actual assets not handbags. Handbags are fashion not investments.
@@G..G.. I understand. I think I was referring more to if someone wanted to buy one or two bags as something to wear to fancy events and special occasions, but a few years down the line realize they don't need it anymore and sold it. If they were able to recover 60 - 90% of what they paid, I would consider that pretty good because a lot of material goods after awhile are either donate to get rid of where you get 0% back or you lose 80-90% of what you originally paid.
What a great informative video, I can’t believe the price difference between fashionphile and what comes around goes around ( which I had never heard about)
Love to see the curation of your collection once you're at the end of your selling spree! This was quite insightful to see how resellers price the market, what's in and not, and how much you actually earned back. Honestly, good for you for recognizing what you needed and what is beneficial for your life in this moment. Thank you for sharing!
I appreciate this video. For me I’ve always been skeptical of different reselling sites, for a variety of reasons. But having someone (you) sit down and talk about your process makes me trust them a little more.
Experiences are far better than things. My wife actually said no to another Chanel bag! Instead, we are going to Paris for Christmas. Congratulations on the house move.

I would be curious to see if you made or loss money from all bags you sold and what your purchased them for. I hear all the time that designer bags are an investment but from the couple that I sold myself, I don’t end up making a profit.
Right. Very few bags are are going to make you money on a resale. Maybe Hermes and certain Chanel’s. I think that’s something people say to justify spending the kind of money we do on these bags lol.
I was hoping to hear this info too! Especially when I heard what she sold her Chanel heart bag for, I thought it would have been more as I've heard people were really searching for that piece

Cindy, wow great job in selling bags you don’t use anymore. I know it’s hard to get rid of and knowing what you paid vs their offer. But if you don’t use no use just sitting in your closet. I look forward to your next video on more bags you sold. 😊❤️
It depends on the bag and how you sell it. If you sell them directly on Vestiaire, eBay etc. for LV, Hermes and Chanel you can at the very least make back what you paid for it, if not a profit. Going through resellers such as Rebag etc is actually a rip off because they add at least 50% more to the quote before selling it. So the price that people are actually willing to pay for that preloved piece is actually a lot more than what you get as the seller. I understand in this instance there were too many bags to sell so it made sense to not do it each personally, but by and large, if you’re strategic with them, bags can still be an investment.
So proud of you Cindy 👏🏼 I’m lucky to have you two daughters that are not in to logos and into less is more they made better choices than me and invested in real estate 🏡 I’m hanging on to my handbag collection for them hoping they might want them one day ❤

TFS & your transparency! I found myself in the same situation. 3 yrs ago we sold our home in preparation for retirement & moving out of state. We retired & moved last year. I ended up donating a lot of my contemporary bags. I found that after retirement I no longer wear a lot of my lux bags as I no longer need to carry an extra phone, files, laptops, etc. My style is now daily casual instead of suits. I’ve sold some SLG’s but not to say I’ve had bad experiences co-signing w/social media resellers. It’s probably safer to sell the high end items with the large company resellers. I am now looking to sell additional contemporary bags but not sure where I’ll go, was considering Poshmark but still not sure. Are you also considering selling contemporary items? If so, where will you go to sell them?
If you don't mind consignment, then The RealReal is a great place for letting go of contemporary brands. I tend to sell my high end bags and jewelry like Van Cleef, Cartier, LV etc to Fashionphile, Rebag, and My Gemma, but the contemporary brands like Rebecca Minkoff, and Tory Burch, I sell with The RealReal. Fashionphile will buy Marc Jacobs, but they don't accept a lot of other contemporary brands.
Hi Cindy, have you had problems with Rebag? They give me quote price and once they receive the bag, they gave me a lower price. It happened to my friends as well.
Wow! Your brave! Do you ever sell to your subscribers? I have been trying to buy an evelyne but I refuse to pay almost $3K for a used one. I would’ve loved to have purchased the one you had for the price you sold it for!
Wow, it's so hard to take the losses... but good for you and doing it the "rip the bandaid off quick" way, so you can have mental peace and just move on with life. (You are a busy mom). 😊Many probably would have devalued more, if u waited longer. I need to curate and sell a bunch, too. 😂🤦🏻♀️ This video inspires me to do so... I'm a Chanel and LV girl, and don't have really any other brands (Dior I avoid because of low resale, & Gucci & Fendi I like a few styles, but the resale is not good, either). I know I've gotten sucked into this world through FB groups, TH-cam and Instagram (feels very unhealthy and mentally crazy, tbh). I need to just take the "L's" with some bags, too. It's just hard & time consuming. I will try to be organized like u with your little info pricing sheet. 😊👀💁🏻♀️Thanks for the inspiration. Can't wait to see the ones that made the cut! 😍🎊🎈🩵
I had the original mini speedy which I purchased in 2003 in Neiman Marcus and I paid 300 bucks, can you imagine!?Wish I held on to it , I sold it years ago 😢 definitely regretted that decision now.
Fashionphile give price super low , give a price 450 Louis Vuitton messager bag....I used one time.. I totally forgot resell any store...😂😂😂 Keep all my old bag..
Can you share how much money you initially spent? Seems like there have been significant losses? Was it worth spending this much on bags and the almost immediately selling them because they didn’t suit your life? Given how many bags you’ve bought and didn’t use do you have a different approach to buying bags? This must be so exhausting going from reseller to reseller for quotes.
I’ve downsized my luxury handbags to under 10 and going to sell 5 more. I’m in my 40s and really not into luxury bags anymore. I only buy cheaper light weight and comfortable handbags nowadays.
Oh no so sad u sold some of your bags, but i hear where ur coming from and gotta declutter. Just a thought i know is more work, but why not sell them to us, i think u can get more money n u know for a fact is going to ur subs who will enjoy the bahs.
Do you have a separate bank account for these types of purchases? Just curious as to what your spouse thinks. I’m not married but my sisters that are married often tell me how their spouses complain about the high price any time they buy something expensive. I tell them to keep a separate bank account for their fun purchases.
@@gorgeouss79 my husband has actually bought some of these for me. He can appreciate the quality of the luxury items. We each have individual bank accounts & a shared account that pays for the home, insurance, utility bills, etc. We put away for savings & retirement before we make big purchases. We don’t buy anything that we can’t pay off, not worth getting into debt for… this has worked for us for the last 24 yrs we’ve been married. Happy wife, happy life! 😍
request, can you please share if you made money or not. in some you kinda did. but it's good to know you paid x, sold it for x, either +/- earnings. i ask because it's eye-opening as people love to say they are an investment. when in reality you're lucky if you make money. I'm about to do the same with branded totes. i no longer go to the office so no need and even if I did I don't want logos. i prefer a tote I don't have to take care of.

Wow ! That's alot of Bags 💰 I Sold 3 Collections of Bags For The Same Reason "Too Much " Now I just wear a simple cheaper style of purse.
What would you say to your younger self after this decluttering experience ?
Wow congratulations!!!
Wow!
I wish you sold them to us haha. But excited to see the new collection
I had the original mini speedy which I purchased in 2003 in Neiman Marcus and I paid 300 bucks, can you imagine!?Wish I held on to it , I sold it years ago 😢 definitely regretted that decision now.
I miss those prices 🥹
❤❤❤❤really sad to hear that you are selling the bags but I think they hit the jackpot
I wish you can sell some of your bags to us, your followers/subscribers. 😍
Fashionphile give price super low , give a price 450 Louis Vuitton messager bag....I used one time.. I totally forgot resell any store...😂😂😂 Keep all my old bag..
I got lucky with Fashionphile, but actually I went to their location. My bags were in excellent condition and I had the boxes and dust bags.
Best of luck with your vlog sale ❤😊
Lord I pray she didnt sell that chanel sunset bag.. I wanted it
Neverrr that’s my fave Chanel bag 🥹💙
Can you share how much money you initially spent? Seems like there have been significant losses? Was it worth spending this much on bags and the almost immediately selling them because they didn’t suit your life? Given how many bags you’ve bought and didn’t use do you have a different approach to buying bags? This must be so exhausting going from reseller to reseller for quotes.
Sure, no, wasn’t immediate, yes, one email 🤗
Do you have any change bags to sell still in neutral colors or black and silver? I’d be interested thank you
I felt this wonderful feeling in my mind, body and soul when she said “I prefer kislux
Wow $27,000 you could put an amazing down payment on a house or invest wow wow wow!
I’ve downsized my luxury handbags to under 10 and going to sell 5 more. I’m in my 40s and really not into luxury bags anymore. I only buy cheaper light weight and comfortable handbags nowadays.
I would avoid Rebag. There are a lot of videos on TH-cam about their shady practices
Omg I was about to sell to rebag
Oh no so sad u sold some of your bags, but i hear where ur coming from and gotta declutter. Just a thought i know is more work, but why not sell them to us, i think u can get more money n u know for a fact is going to ur subs who will enjoy the bahs.
Have you ever tried to sell a Chanel classic flap? I am so curious the quotes now with all the price increases
Yes I’ve sold every size from my collection 🥹
Hi are u willing to do 2300/2500 for the on the go
Its smart to sell what your not using
Do you have a separate bank account for these types of purchases?
😱 selling ? Oh wow .... that's something hard to do .
Great vid. Enjoyed! Best wishes...
Omg!!!! That offer from fashionphile for your Dior bag is criminal in that condition. Wow!!!!! I wonder how much they listed it for. They just seem to take advantage of people now. It is so sad all the scams that are going on because you could have pocketed more money.
Did you end up losing the money or you gain out of your sale?
Losing money
Interesting video!
Not as bougee as your collection, but I am also in process of selling my bags that I am no longer using❤
The price you listed for the 19 is overpriced. A new one is selling at 9625$ CAD.
I had a feeling this gonna be a trendy in the future with bags collector 😂😂😂😂
The way this economy is headed 🙃
@@AHeatedMess yep 100%true unfortunately 😕😔
