Good Video. Interesting to see how many bites you missed with the float dotted down so much. I appreciate that the wind didnt help. Positives, Stays on hook well. Useful as feed bait. i can actually see F1's being attracted to this bait. Negatives, None. I have just, whilst watching you, ordered both the 4.5mls and the 2.5mils. Interested to see if they (the 2.5mils) make a difference to being fished on the Hybrid type feeder. Another great bit of research Joe. I am already getting great results using the Margin Paste rig. Thanks and look forward to the next new Idea. Cheers.
I tried various makes of Pellet expanders on numerous occasions and never had success with them. I'm not convinced they work on a consistent basis. Good video though Joe as always Mate. Keep em coming
@@MatchFishingFilms test them, did a 4 day session on them and had 4 carp, some people blanked, im a big link guy too, cells alright in the summery times.
Fantastic endorsement Joe. Blakes are quality. Also used to by Chris Hall at the Oaks to great success. Do you think they’d take a bayonet on the method? Expanders so hard to prep and keep consistent while on the bank , blink and they crack.
awesome mate no need to explain about the F.O.C pellets even if your were sponsored bye them we all no you give your honest opinion on everything you try got to love skimmer fishing ill be deffo taking a few bags of these to stafford moor for the silverfish event at the end of the month could be a game changer also ive been using a 6to8 hybrid elastic for skimmers its perfect
Trouble is, they aren't standard fishery pellets that separate commercials sell, and make anglers use on loads of places such as Lindholme and Hayfield for example. So it would be against their rules there to feed them even though they would be allowed on the hook. (You did mention it briefly I know) At my club water, they would be ok, so I'll look at them for there. But the point still stands that at lots of places you couldn't feed them without breaking some fishery rules.
I’m sure there used to be 4mm soft pellets that you could feed and hook back in the 90’s no prep needed at all Used to be a good bait on Brookside near Warrington and were sold at Rod’n’Reel in Ellesmere Port Can’t remember the brand
Hi Joe i use the pro expanders 2s & 4s in the colder months for skimmers but sock them for 10min then put them into a corner of bag twisted so they don't exspand to much and stay on the hock quite well Would you recommend the blakes over them?
I will give these a try. I tried swim stim expanders last year, but I didn't have much success with them. I found they were no better than hard oiled pellets left a few days to absorb the oil. Easier to fish with as well. I put it down to the fact that we don't feed expander pellets, and I have heard Kristian Jones allude to the same. Fish are not afraid of hard pellets due to the fact that we feed them. I am not convinced that the fish will exclusively pick out an expander pellet, with hard pellets as loose feed.
Joe, nice video again mate thank you. How well do they stay on the hook when you strike and miss? Are they more robust than an expander? Also, have you used the Blake’s expander?
They look really good, with the only problem I can see’ with what you have done on the video, is that using them as both feed and hook pellets, could produce a lot of waste.. I.e if you have finished your session, as per the video, you have got a load of soaked pellets left over. In normal circumstances with hard pellets that’s no problem, just put on the lid and use them again on your next session. However, as these are soaked, unless you can freeze them and they react the same once thawed out you possibly could only then use them again as normal hard pellets, which I know could be ok, but then having introduced them, they then may break down really quickly to groundbait….. Don’t suppose you have tried this as yet, have you?
@@MatchFishingFilms , I did, in fact I watched the video a few times to see if I missed something, actually the 2.5m were probably better than any 2.5mm expander that I have done.
Great video Joe, never even thought of soaking 4mm pellets. The ones you were using were probably all copings but looked like a mixture of coppings and skrettings with the slight difference in colour between what you had in your tub

I haven’t yet but I bet they’d be excellent for skimmers
@MatchFishingFilms yes get some tomorrow then
Are 6mm the same Joe or have you just used the 4mm and keep the brilliant vids and info coming mate
Don’t think they do a 6mm yet
Hi Joe, I tried both sizes of pellets, the 2.5mm were perfect but the 4.5mm broke up when trying to put the hook in.
Prepped how I did? I've done them several times since and had them work great every time
