I know there is a lot of love for Jongho's and Eunkwang's vocal abilities (for good reason). I was really glad to see Seungmin getting a chance to shine since I think people forget that Stray Kids has a really great vocal line. The harmonies here! Honestly, the Mayfly units really seemed so cohesive. You'd think they had been a super group who performed together for a long time.
Man Eunkwang is just Eunkwang, as expected from a senior idol, Jongho is absolutely phenomenal, always singing perfect and holy shit Seungmin's vocal tone is so unbelievably nice
the fact that Eunkwang didn’t take his eyes off seungmin or jongho that whole performance almost as if he was constantly reassuring and supporting them, mayfly’s chemistry is really another level
I love how BTOB took their hyung status seriously in the best most supportive way for Ateez and Skz. For all 3 units. They encouraged and suggested, allowing the young ones to shine with their strengths. And then adding the flair and guidance for Rap and Dance. But none so magnificently as Vocals by silverlight. you can see all 3 units bond as 1 when they stand together waiting for their results. No shade on ikon sf9 or Boyz, but the different of having gelled vs not quite there is evident

Eunkwang did the part distribution based on everyone's strengths and he divided the parts which really showcased everyone's vocals equally + he guided and reassured the team during the entire process from practice to the actual stage. He's such an amazing vocalist, senior and leader 🥺
He’s the definition of what senior should be. I don’t know him very well before Kingdom but I love how he treats everyone equally with respect and doesn’t act as though he’s better than everyone.
That's Eunkwang for you. He's a director at Cube, he's a leader of a long-going group that can do everything, and he's madly talented, but his humility is what makes him loveable.

i feel like crying. Stray Kids isn't a vocal based group and they mostly showcase their rap ability in their songs but seeing Seungmin standing there with Eunkwang and Jongho and be able to showcase his singing ability and create harmonies makes me cry.
No need to imagine; watch BtoB performances with the other 3 BtoB vocalists, and you'll hear adlibs on top of adlibs. They've been doing this practically since debut.

Yes you right! He guides seungmin and made an adlibs at jongho high note. He is sparkling the performance with his voice. I love their teamworks, seungmin tone really fits with song and jongho did all of high notes and eunkwang as the center hold all of performance. They trust each other omg😭
The thing about Eunkwang's harmony is that it's so close to the melody that you can barely distinguish (hear) it but it creates this one magical sound when paired with the main singer. It's similar with Seungmin's question during practice at Cube.... in the chorus part, where he can't hear his part because he's hearing 3 voices melted into one. I've been in a choir so I can say that harmonizing is more challenging than singing the melody part. You have to have a very good ear & mastery of tone. Eunkwang mostly did this, supporting the two. Bass is not his strongest point (Minhyuk mostly does the low notes in BTOB) but he also did a lot of it since his juniors are mostly doing high notes & melody. The sacrifices, man. He's just super awesome.

Just wanted to put this here because I can't talk about Eunkwang enough. As a senior and leader, he really did a good job not just in the performance but in guiding the entire group. He could've easily taken up most of the song with his range and technique but instead he arranged the song in such a way that the capacity of Seungmin and Jongho as vocalist will be highlighted. This is truly what a vocal performance should be--pure emotions, vocal expression and harmony. I just find it amazing that even in the performance he continues to support both of them, equally giving both of them time to shine. WE NEED MORE MAYFLY PERFORMANCES. MAYFLY WORLD DOMINATION WBK
Yes. His guidance never ends during rehearsals and practice sessions. I can’t help but recall one of his performance with his mom on Immortal Songs. He did the same: encouraging, and guiding, the way he smiles and look at his mom during the performance. That moment and connection with his mom is touching. It literally made the audience and and other contestants cry.
I agree. I love how humble BTOB is. No doubt they excel at everything but they chose to make the younger groups shine more but without them the performance wouldn’t be as amazing as it is. If this is the voice I would have turned around with Eunkwang’s first note. Minhyuk almost appeared at the end of the song for the Rap unit. Peniel has a decent amount of screen time but he really takes time to listen to what the other groups want in their performance and Eunkwang dividing the part equally especially those with high notes to highlight the younger groups.
Jongho and Seungmin really proved that they are called vocalist for a reason, thank you BTOB's Silver Light for having them a chance to showcase their natural talent in singing.
In Kazakh mentality we have such term like "silver throat" - "күміс көмей", describing a person with unique vocal, amazing tone (like nightingale) - so Eunkwang is Silver also because of his voice
We all know that Jongho and especially Eunkwang are simply unbelievably good singers. They always shine in their groups. Many people don't know about Seungmin because the Stray Kids songs are mostly more rap-heavy. I'm so happy that you can really hear here how incredibly good he actually is. He has outdone himself once again. I remember Han and Changbin saying "You sounded different". He certainly learned a lot from Eunkwang. Jongho too. That also shows how professional Eunkwang is. He supported both of them and made them shine! ♥

I really appreciate everyone of this unit. Eunkwang took the low note so he could let his juniors shine, not to mention his role as the leader of the unit. Seungmin's vocal is really suit with this song tho, he was so good singing his part. Jongho's vocal just incredible, can't say no more. In conclusion, this performance was THAT good.
I'm so blown away by Btob's maturity during this show. As sunbaes they're sooooooo humble. How minhyuk easily agree to all the suggestions from the hoobaes and praising bangchan nonstop from being a genius track maker, dude literally showed up for only 1/4 during "Playing with Paint", how Peniel didnt want anyone to use cheondae mal toward him and just agree to become friends, how eunkwang trying break the ice at the very first episode, and changsub being humble most of the times he was there. I came in as an ikonic but now i'm a proud stay and Melo. At this point, Idc who win this competition, the boys friendship is so wholesome, Its literally the best thing ❤️
Yes. I'm surprised and proud of him sooooooooo much (He is my bias in SKZ). He never had a chance to sing a ballad before, so we never know his voice can be so beautiful and angelic like this (I mean he is good before but this live is beyond anyone's expectation). We are all so proud of him. It shows that his voice suits this genre a lot and he can control his voice as he wish. I wish some OST will come to him. He deserves it.
because he never really had the opportunity to truly show his voice, I knew he had such a sweet, warm voice but to do it live like this with harmonies and other people... I'm so glad he was able to show how great of a singer he really is and that he 100% deserve the main vocal position in skz
i was amazed by his vocals during the 'once in a lifetime' performance... he really shines there and you can tell how much he improved. this performance only proved seungmin is really a great vocalist and his voice is so beautiful

this is the only mayfly stage that doesnt allow any criticism, it was flawless. performance and rap could be about different tastes and styles, but there's no room for discussion in vocals. eunkwang, seungmin and jongho were perfect.
So thankful to Eunkwang for mentoring them. Many ppl don’t appreciate Ateez and SKZ vocals bc they’re mainly known for their performance but i’m glad Jongho and Seungmin got to show off their vocals

I don't think people understand how amazing Seungmin's Baratone voice is.....the harmonization by Eungkwan and Jongho was heavenly.....no one can deny how superior this performance was. As Yunho said this is indeed a legendary stage.
On the reff they change the position. When yhe rehearsal, Seungmin take the normal note, jongho higher note and eunkwang who has more stabel low voice take the lower note. But in the real stage, seungmin take the higher note and switch with jongho. It was right desicion,

Man, you can really tell that Eunkwang really wanted the others to shine. Even in the performance, his part is supportive and adds to the work that the others are doing and his own solo sections feels like he's guiding them to the climax.
eunkwang is such a supportive senior to them, he always gives the best reaction and the biggest hype man to others. He is just amazing as his vocals are. You can tell both jongho and seungmin looks up to him and admire him, they indeed are the next generation of vocalists.

Seungmin’s voice conveyed the most emotion and tenderness in my opinion. When I heard his part, I teared up. He’s so talented. All of them are of course but Seungmin’s voice touched my soul.
Mayfly on 3rd round: Rap unit: has a cool mom who's used to control his 5 kids with all kinds of crazy ideas everytime they are together. These three newly adopted kids are easy to handle for him. Dance unit: has a cool hyung who bought them ice cream and willing to play with them. Playing wolfies? Sure! I got some chains and collars for us! Defo the veteran and the best vocalist in this vocal team. He sings effortlessly like there is no vocal strain. Only his weakness is lack of mix voice. Jongho has good mix but he strains and aint healthy sound. Whereas seungmin has such a good tone.
Eunkwang is himself a legendary could have taken most part for himself but he distributed the song to each of them equally. That's what I call leadership and humbleness

I'm an Atiny and I did NOT know Seungmin had the control to make all these beautiful runs and riffs at both low and high ranges 😳 Like we know Jongho has the stability to go as low and high as he wants and Eunkwang's vocal technique is unmatched, but this stage really showed off each and every one of them I'm in LOVE
ikr he might not has as big of range but imo he has such a sweet voice that he can control very well.. so combined with jongho's and eunkwang's powerful vocals, they seriously make up a beautiful performance that can only leave everyone speechless..
At a young age of 16, JYP has always praised Seungmin during their survival show because Seungmin is very smart according to him. He knows his lows, highs, and just basically have a good technique in showcasing his voice.

I swear I tried to not fall in love with anyone at Kingdom, but man, Eunkwang really is an amazing leader. I really really loved the way he made the kids feel safe during the whole performance!
I tried and failed miserably, I now have 4 new men 🤦🏼♀️ I love Ateez and SF9 and liked the others groups but now I’ve just gave in and let them claim me... My bank is going to hate me.
I think this performance was when everyone really realized that combining ateez, btob, and straykids was just tooooooo good. And how each of the groups other members are so so visibly proud and supportive of how their vocal guys are doing is just adorable.
Here’s why Mayfly has a better strategy: 1. They send many members for dance category making the stage so grand. And they choose to use a song people are familiar with~ which helps with the story they want to convey. 2. All the rappers are also their groups’ composers~ they OWN the performance! You can see how proud and confident they are of their ability which is essentially what Rap music is all about. 3. They only sent 3 main vocalists which successfully showcased their color and singing skills~ the simplicity of the stage made the song and their voices shines A LOT!! Great job guys! Mayfly deserves to win!
they keep it simple yet grand and full of message.. love poem, paint, and wolf.. three different songs, genre and emotions.. but the message of the lyrics are all the same..
AND! they let all of the members perform. Even if some of the vocalists or rappers were placed in the dancing unit, mayfly (esp the leaders) clearly want to convey to the audience that they are all-rounders
Eunkwang is inhuman. And I'm really glad Seungmin and Jongho this stage to showcase their voices, especially Seungmin who gets a lot of lines in songs but doesn't often have a chance to show how controlled and skillful he actually is.
Seungmin's voice may not be for crazy high belting like the other two here but his voice is the most goosebumps inducing. It's the type that is required for divine blending like this performance. It's 2023 and this is still making me proud lol

I’m an Atiny but damn, SeungMin’s voice was so clear… His vocal pronunciation was so good that you can hear him so clear throughout the performance.. And EunKwang’s runs were flawless and his vocal techniques were so rich… And lastly, our baby JongHo’s high notes which requires so much power was executed like it was nothing… It was indeed legendary

stray kids reaction literally had me crying: as a stay i know that seungmin doesn't get much praised for his vocals when he is so talented, so their reaction melted my heart because we can tell how proud they are of him since it's his "first" opportunity to shine on stage like this (i mean without the other members)
This is the first time that I teared up while listening to just music like Seungmin's voice is so angelic. I became Seungmin's fan especially because of this performance. And this guy needs more opportunities.
Their chemistry is amazing and it shines in all three performances. But this performance is by far my favorite. No matter how many times I watch it I feel the same way as I did the first time. This is probably the best performance on Kingdom technically. There were no props or special effects, nothing but their sheer skill. Eunkwang arranged the song beautifully, showcasing everybody's voice and talent perfectly. Everybody's years of experience and skill came together masterfully.
Though he oversang the hell out of the end of that song. It started out sweet, then went sour with his excessive running. When he brought it back down again, it sounded better. Sadly, some singers don't quite understand what too much is when it comes to vocal runs.

I feel like this video in particular makes the vocal runs seem longer because they keep replaying the part after the reactions so that the viewers don't miss anything, which is why the songs are better when you stream them without reactions

I know there is a lot of love for Jongho's and Eunkwang's vocal abilities (for good reason). I was really glad to see Seungmin getting a chance to shine since I think people forget that Stray Kids has a really great vocal line. The harmonies here! Honestly, the Mayfly units really seemed so cohesive. You'd think they had been a super group who performed together for a long time.

the fact that Eunkwang didn’t take his eyes off seungmin or jongho that whole performance almost as if he was constantly reassuring and supporting them, mayfly’s chemistry is really another level
I love how BTOB took their hyung status seriously in the best most supportive way for Ateez and Skz. For all 3 units. They encouraged and suggested, allowing the young ones to shine with their strengths. And then adding the flair and guidance for Rap and Dance. But none so magnificently as Vocals by silverlight.
you can see all 3 units bond as 1 when they stand together waiting for their results. No shade on ikon sf9 or Boyz, but the different of having gelled vs not quite there is evident

The thing about Eunkwang's harmony is that it's so close to the melody that you can barely distinguish (hear) it but it creates this one magical sound when paired with the main singer. It's similar with Seungmin's question during practice at Cube.... in the chorus part, where he can't hear his part because he's hearing 3 voices melted into one. I've been in a choir so I can say that harmonizing is more challenging than singing the melody part. You have to have a very good ear & mastery of tone. Eunkwang mostly did this, supporting the two. Bass is not his strongest point (Minhyuk mostly does the low notes in BTOB) but he also did a lot of it since his juniors are mostly doing high notes & melody. The sacrifices, man. He's just super awesome.

Who is here again after watching Seungmin's solo version? No matter how many times I watch this one or the Seungmin's version, it always brings tears to my eyes.
Just wanted to put this here because I can't talk about Eunkwang enough. As a senior and leader, he really did a good job not just in the performance but in guiding the entire group. He could've easily taken up most of the song with his range and technique but instead he arranged the song in such a way that the capacity of Seungmin and Jongho as vocalist will be highlighted. This is truly what a vocal performance should be--pure emotions, vocal expression and harmony. I just find it amazing that even in the performance he continues to support both of them, equally giving both of them time to shine.

Yes. His guidance never ends during rehearsals and practice sessions. I can’t help but recall one of his performance with his mom on Immortal Songs. He did the same: encouraging, and guiding, the way he smiles and look at his mom during the performance. That moment and connection with his mom is touching. It literally made the audience and and other contestants cry.

Minhyuk almost appeared at the end of the song for the Rap unit. Peniel has a decent amount of screen time but he really takes time to listen to what the other groups want in their performance and Eunkwang dividing the part equally especially those with high notes to highlight the younger groups.

We all know that Jongho and especially Eunkwang are simply unbelievably good singers. They always shine in their groups. Many people don't know about Seungmin because the Stray Kids songs are mostly more rap-heavy. I'm so happy that you can really hear here how incredibly good he actually is. He has outdone himself once again. I remember Han and Changbin saying "You sounded different". He certainly learned a lot from Eunkwang. Jongho too. That also shows how professional Eunkwang is. I really appreciate everyone of this unit. Eunkwang took the low note so he could let his juniors shine, not to mention his role as the leader of the unit. Seungmin's vocal is really suit with this song tho, he was so good singing his part. Jongho's vocal just incredible, can't say no more. In conclusion, this performance was THAT good.
I'm so blown away by Btob's maturity during this show. As sunbaes they're sooooooo humble. How minhyuk easily agree to all the suggestions from the hoobaes and praising bangchan nonstop from being a genius track maker, dude literally showed up for only 1/4 during "Playing with Paint", how Peniel didnt want anyone to use cheondae mal toward him and just agree to become friends, how eunkwang trying break the ice at the very first episode, and changsub being humble most of the times he was there. I came in as an ikonic but now i'm a proud stay and Melo. At this point, Idc who win this competition, the boys friendship is so wholesome, Its literally the best thing ❤️

On the reff they change the position. When yhe rehearsal, Seungmin take the normal note, jongho higher note and eunkwang who has more stabel low voice take the lower note. But in the real stage, seungmin take the higher note and switch with jongho. It was right desicion,
he has such a warm and stable voice, it really helps anchor the performance and really rounds out their vocals. it's like swimming in a pool of honey~

Man, you can really tell that Eunkwang really wanted the others to shine. Even in the performance, his part is supportive and adds to the work that the others are doing and his own solo sections feels like he's guiding them to the climax.
I think they all shined perfectly together. Eunkwang arranged it so perfectly. As a Stay, I'm glad we have him in our team
eunkwang is such a supportive senior to them, he always gives the best reaction and the biggest hype man to others. He is just amazing as his vocals are. You can tell both jongho and seungmin looks up to him and admire him, they indeed are the next generation of vocalists.

Seungmin’s voice conveyed the most emotion and tenderness in my opinion. When I heard his part, I teared up. He’s so talented. All of them are of course but Seungmin’s voice touched my soul.
Mayfly on 3rd round:
Rap unit: has a cool mom who's used to control his 5 kids with all kinds of crazy ideas everytime they are together. These three newly adopted kids are easy to handle for him.
Dance unit: has a cool hyung who bought them ice cream and willing to play with them. Playing wolfies? Sure! I got some chains and collars for us!
Vocal unit: has a cool dad who appreciate each and every kids the way they deserve. Dad got your back, sons. Go show the world!

At a young age of 16, JYP has always praised Seungmin during their survival show because Seungmin is very smart according to him. He knows his lows, highs, and just basically have a good technique in showcasing his voice.

I swear I tried to not fall in love with anyone at Kingdom, but man, Eunkwang really is an amazing leader. I really really loved the way he made the kids feel safe during the whole performance!

I think this performance was when everyone really realized that combining ateez, btob, and straykids was just tooooooo good. And how each of the groups other members are so so visibly proud and supportive of how their vocal guys are doing is just adorable.
Here’s why Mayfly has a better strategy:
1. They send many members for dance category making the stage so grand. And they choose to use a song people are familiar with~ which helps with the story they want to convey.
2. All the rappers are also their groups’ composers~ they OWN the performance! You can see how proud and confident they are of their ability which is essentially what Rap music is all about.
3. They only sent 3 main vocalists which successfully showcased their color and singing skills~ the simplicity of the stage made the song and their voices shines A LOT!!

Eunkwang is inhuman. And I'm really glad Seungmin and Jongho this stage to showcase their voices, especially Seungmin who gets a lot of lines in songs but doesn't often have a chance to show how controlled and skillful he actually is.

This is probably the best performance on Kingdom technically. There were no props or special effects, nothing but their sheer skill. Eunkwang arranged the song beautifully, showcasing everybody's voice and talent perfectly. Everybody's years of experience and skill came together masterfully.
Though he oversang the hell out of the end of that song. It started out sweet, then went sour with his excessive running. When he brought it back down again, it sounded better.
Sadly, some singers don't quite understand what too much is when it comes to vocal runs.

I feel like this video in particular makes the vocal runs seem longer because they keep replaying the part after the reactions so that the viewers don't miss anything, which is why the songs are better when you stream them without reactions
