Food for thought: If the rescue absolutely needed to pass the bus due to an urgent nature, how might that have been conducted safely? I'm not particularly educated on the correct way to do it.
You been making videos a long, you've got the smarts. The bus driver should have pulled over, not turned on the red lights and held the kids on the bus. God Bless!
@@jazzbutterworth Jazz, I didn't mean it as a put down. I meant that when it came down to it you'd know the right way to go about it. Sorry you took it the wrong way, I apologize. God Bless

Both the Rescue driver and Bus driver need to rethink how they do things. Bus was stopped with red lights flashing, Rescue came up. You stop. If you watch, the Rescue never came to a complete stop. Where did you think you were going? The bus driver made the mistake of turning. off the red flashing lights while still having kids crossing the road, BIG mistake and very dangerous. The rescue, seeing the lights go off but, kids still crossing started moving. SIT STILL!!!! That whole situation was poorly handled by both.
I agree you 100% at my agency when you come up to a stopped school bus with its lights on. You come to a complete stop and turn off all your emergency equipment. Then only when the bus turns off it's lights do you turn your equipment back on proceeded to the call.
Another outstanding video. Second video lately with a school bus. There has to be common sense here, it's not that big of a thing. The shift command needs to tell engines coming to scene status, smoke, odor of smoke etc. If nothing's showing there's no reason to rush, plus it's a rescue. The bus driver if hearing the siren should have pulled over and waited before putting red lights on, and at very least held the kids on the bus turned off lights and waved the rescue around. What are the kids in another world, they act like they're lost. These kids aren't elementary they're high school. It's not that tough to figure out. God Bless!
I hate to be that person but WAY illegal to approach and attempt to pass a school bus with stop lights engaged. Made worse that they are responding to an AFA.
I completely agree but I do think the rescue pretty obviously waited until the bus turned it's warning lights off. To me, this did not seem at all like a blatant disregard of the law.
Great Catch!👍 great to see the Kids crossing the road instead on a bus stop.
Thanks! Kids crossing the road to enter/exit a school bus is common in the US, that's why school buses have stop signs.

Bus driver had to have seen them coming it was their obligation in my opinion to keep the kids on the bus until they passed.

No worries! It's hard to convey tone through a message.
In New York, the law states apparatus must stop and wait until the bus deactivates it's warning lights before passing.
I love how the fire Truck stopped for the bus and let the kids cross
The bus driver had to see the Reacue coming, he or she should’ve held the kids on the bus until they passed. Hopefully someone addresses that
@@jimmyk8736 regardless, NY law states emergency apparatus MUST stop for a school bus if the stop lights are engaged
@@jimmyk8736 If you watch closely, the bus driver did exactly that.
He never really full stopped though, he was slowly creeping the entire time.

Correct that driver needs to have his privileges revoked
OH law prohibits emergency vehicles form passing a school bus when loading/unloading even if running lights/sirens.
Epic!
Thanks!

Doesn’t matter if its an AFA or not, it could be a real fire cuz you know fire alarms actually work
