Hey man, great video. I also bought the speed engineering 1 7/8 header and true dual exhaust today and it's coming next week. My question is do I need to buy the off road pipe separately? I bought the header first and in the option menu the option was to get the off road connection pipe or the full true dual exhaust so I got the full exhaust system but I don't see the off road connection pipe in the true dual exhaust product photo. Also, I got 3 inch valvetronic universal muffler to swap in the true dual catback system since I live in apartments. Was I supposed to get the 2.5 inch or 3 inch mufflers for the speed engineering set up? Thank you.
I brought the off road connection pipes, does the 3 inch go towards the headers or, does the smaller 2.5 side go towards the headers because I can't clamp the 2.5 to a 2.5 leading towards the exhaust,I can't fit one over the other or are they not supposed to over lap or just kiss each other and add a clamp?
I'm guessing you probably got it together by now, but the 3 inch side goes to the headers and 2.5 to rear section of exhaust. The 2.5 doesn't slip over, both ends just meet up, and you should have used the original clamp that came on the car to slide over both ends and hold them together.
@@tripphopper3374 thank you,I did eventually figured it out,did more homework on exhaust clamps. I did not know they could both butt together.I thought all exhaust pipe over lapped each other, unless you weild it.First time messing with exhaust on a car.
You can probably get by with the stock ones, but you need to put boots on them to keep from burning them. I order 1in longer for my car I have the black car.
We actually use the stock exhaust manifold gasket they were still in great shape. The header bolts were replaced with new ones and anti-seize was used when installed
We use the bolts that came with this kit. When I installed the same headers on my black car I just bought headers only, and bought my header bolts and O2 extensions off of eBay I came out about $30 cheaper
Yeah it’s weird how these are made because we put the same set on my buddy Yellow Camaro and they actually hit the frame just a tad bit, but on my black car they didn’t hit
Since the oem has 2 oxygen sensors cables on each side. What did you guys do with the 2nd one after the catalyptic converter? Since these Speed engineering headers only have for 1 sensor
We just unplugged them and I highly recommend maybe getting some kind a ziplog bag and zip tied over the plug so any water doesn’t get in there and corrode anything. The tuner will be able to tune those out
Yeah I bought the headers only I bought mine extensions and head bolts off of eBay and I came in little bit cheaper almost about $30 cheaper than what this guy did
I actually brought it from a guy in hopes it would work on mine. Unfortunately it didn’t so I sold it to him. I brought it from a friend he got something eles
@@ky_chevy2824 yeah I have a 2012 I wanna put some on mine. Worried about having to have to pull a head if it happens. I would deff replace with new ones tho. Just to have them newer and more reliable
@@triggas80 What I would do like we did in this video and my other video we started the car up and let the kids get little warm that way the metal will expand and I would break them loose while it’s warm. I just don’t get the car too hot because you won’t be able to get close to the headers without burning yourself
@@ky_chevy2824 good idea frl. I put headers on my Tahoe a while back more so for the sound and broke both bolts in the back on either side. Passenger side we drilled out and fixed the driver side we order a block manifold clamp cus you cant get in there to drill without removing the head lol
My favorite part other than the sound was the lack of ventilation. Lol. After 10 or so beers you are going to forget to vent the garage and never wake up. Just saying. Play smart
I have had them in my car about 2 yrs no problems no leaks. Way to go man
Yes he very happy with them, I have a set on my black car

I’ve heard good things about speed engineering ... Jorge Vlogs used it on his 19 SS ...
Yes sir the fitment is excellent I’ve heard other people talk about cooks in Texas speed that they have to modify the pipe around the steering column.
When you put the connection catless pipe to the exhaust did you have trouble connecting them?

I orders the headers last night and didnt get a shipping info i was wondering how long they take to ship
When I ordered mine it took about four days to get. But with today’s things going on it may take a little longer
Did you need extended spark plug wires?
You can probably get by with the stock ones, but you need to put boots on them to keep from burning them. I order 1in longer for my car I have the black car.
@@ky_chevy2824 did you guys get and use the multilayer steel gaskets and bolts because i seen a few videos were people use oem

Which are the o2 sensors that go on the headers? The primary ones or the bottom ones? I believe for the primary ones i would need 02 extensions
We need the ones for the primary ones closer to the engine
Man that thing sounds damn good!
Did the passenger side rub the frame?
No had 1/4 inch of Clarence
@@ky_chevy2824 that’s awesome!
Mine hit the frame

@@ky_chevy2824 for sure. I’ve heard of some also touching the steering shaft too.
@@WickPerformance we haven’t had no problems out of both cars that we install them on, with that problem steering shaft
Was there any leaks with those clamps??
Not at first but after a few hear cycles they did. I just retighten them up good to go
I wanna get some for my 14 SS, is there a difference with mine being an automatic?
No sir they are the same

Did you have to buy new wires or did they not touch the headers?
He opted for a new set of wires because the car was going to the shop to have a cam put in. But I don’t see why you couldn’t use your stock wires
Any ticking noises when driving next to walls ?
Not that I know he hasn’t mention nothing bout noises
Did you remove the tower brace? My 1LE has it.
Yes we did makes easy to access,
Also everything goes out/in from the bottom
Sounds awesome
Thank you
Do I need the o2 extensions? Or can I install without them
Yes you need them
Did you use the 02 extension that came with the package ?
Yes we did

@@ky_chevy2824 awww okay one more thing where did you buy or can I buy better gaskets ?
Honestly we reuse the factory metal gaskets because they were still good shape I highly suggest not using those cheap gaskets they send.
Is it with the stock Npp exhaust?
Yes sir
Sounds great
Thank you sir
Great job bro, badass
Car sounds awesome just ordered myself some as well for my 14’ 1le, also where’d he get the wing from?
I actually brought it from a guy in hopes it would work on mine. Unfortunately it didn’t so I sold it to him. I brought it from a friend he got something eles
Any broken bolts?
No all the bolts came out easy didn’t have no issues. But I highly recommend replacing exhaust bolts when doing the headers

how much hp gain??
Don’t know did not dyno it beforehand, but before the cam was put in it dyno out 399 hp
Any way i could talk to you guys personally dont wanna be weird just wanna get some help before i buy got a 2014 SS
Yeah hit me up on Ig Z71_kentucky

Yes I look them up
I put them in the description thanks for watching

Did you have to buy the connection pipe from stock exhaust to header?
When I bought the headers, they came with the catless pipes which connected to the stock exhaust
